Wow! A traditionally black university has mandated that overweight students must take a weight loss glass to graduate. They're concerned about obesity in the black population.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- A Pennsylvania university's requirement that overweight undergraduates take a fitness course to receive their degrees has raised the hackles of students and the eyebrows of health and legal experts.
Officials at historically black Lincoln University said Friday that the school is simply concerned about high rates of obesity and diabetes, especially in the African-American community.
"We know we're in the midst of an obesity epidemic," said James L. DeBoy, chairman of Lincoln's department of health, physical education and recreation. "We have an obligation to address this head on, knowing full well there's going to be some fallout."
The fallout began this week on Lincoln's campus about 45 miles southwest of Philadelphia, where seniors - the first class affected by the mandate - began realizing their last chance to take the class would be this spring.

I think all schools from grade school on up should teach us about healthy eat and living habits that we can use for the rest of our lives! Try wearing wearable weights like “Body Togs” anatomically designed weighted sleeves worn on your arms & legs under your clothes. Put them on in the morning and you literally forget you have them on while increasing your calorie burn, muscle tone & bone density! Weighted vests work great too!

Nobody is fat because they are ignorant. They're fat because they enjoy food, and because they have better things to do with their time, energy, and money (like get an education...), than kowtow to bigots and nags like Lala and Linda.

I don't think education should be at risk just because of diet matter. I think they should be motivated in some other way.

6.I breastfed for about 14 months, and ended up 15 pounds lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight. I too was shocked (ecstatic, actually). I don’t like to brag either, because I know how sensitive the whole subject is for women. But, from my personal experience, it’s not a myth, and is just another incentive for moms to breast feed or pump (if they can).
