What an ignorant, naive doofus this guy is. He seems to put a lot more stock in world polls than he does domestic ones. He dismisses those when it conflicts with his policy goals. This arrogant basturd cares more about what the world thinks of him, than what Americans do. And if he honestly believes the nation's that are important to us in the world, especially potential threats, are going to treat us any differently because of his image obsessed presidency, the guy is as dangerous, as he is clueless about world politics.
The man's a superficial fool, a fraud and a Leftist tool.
"I think that we've restored America's standing in the world, and that's confirmed by polls," he told CNN's Ed Henry in a wide-ranging interview this week during his trip to China.
"I think a recent one indicated that around the world, before my election, less than half the people -- maybe less than 40 percent of the people -- thought that you could count on America to do to the right thing. Now it's up to 75 percent."
The president said that makes it easier for world leaders to cooperate with the United States, noting Chinese and Russia involvement in nuclear talks with Iran.

News flash for Teh Won - they're not laughing with you.

Our enemies are much happier now. Of course Obama believes enemies are just people who haven't gotten to know him yet.

yeah those talks with Iran are going great.

"noting Chinese and Russia involvement in nuclear talks with Iran."
Dear Leader knows exactly what he's doing, even if he stumbles into a door, or starts at a rifle salute, those bungles are irrelevant.
When bows crassly before the Emperor, its important that he not do it correctly-that could possibly flatter our ally.
So too, it isn't important when he offers our enemy a bone, that he fool them or engender their cooperation. Neither is it important when he blatantly lies about his intent or the result of his action that we, the people believe him.
Some of us are fooled but those that aren't are bound by principle, custom, attachments, fear, etc.
He has time but is genuinely pissed we're not giving him more keeping the engine of capitalism going while he dismantles it completely.

There are 40 western democracies and 150 kleptocratic dictatorships in the world. So if one relies on polls about whether the US 'doing the right thing' with respect to 150 dictatorships, you might as well poll the mafia about whether the police FBI and US attorneys are 'doing the right thing' about their relationship with it. I'm sure that if law enforcement neutered itself the mafia polls would view that as 'positive', same as with the horrific regimes that make up most of the world. If the cat bells itself the rats will have a field day.

""I think a recent one indicated that around the world, before my election, less than half the people -- maybe less than 40 percent of the people -- thought that you could count on America to do to the right thing. Now it's up to 75 percent."
Which poll? Who did they ask? What papers do those people read? What have they read that I haven't read?
"A decision on troops levels in Afghanistan is "very close," the president said. "I will announce that decision certainly in the next several weeks."
sev⋅er⋅al /ˈsɛvərəl, ˈsɛvrəl/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [sev-er-uhl, sev-ruhl]
–adjective 1. being more than two but fewer than many in number or kind.
Fewer than many weeks, in terms of what? The last 8 years, or this year?
" And that's something that we are examining very closely and presenting some very clear benchmarks for the Afghan government."
And those benchmarks are?
"We're making life and death decisions that affect how our troops are able to operate in a theater of war. For people to be releasing info in the course of deliberations is not appropriate."
Mr. President, you mean to say that you will be making those decisions in "several" weeks, right?

The "right thing," like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

The Russians or the Chinese will make a fool of Obama, but Obama will come away believing he's negotiated a great deal. Just wait for it!

What poll? Apparently, all of CNN's fact-checkers are busy working on the Palin book.

v.
I think he has had more success is devaluing the dollar. It's also confirmed by exchange rate.
funny that he would be touting polls on the day after he falls to 50% in gallup, and on the same day as pew drops him below 50%.
epic fail.

"It is important though to recognize if we keep on adding to the debt, even in the midst of this recovery, that at some point, people could lose confidence in the U.S. economy in a way that could actually lead to a double-dip recession," he said.
reuters.
mission accomplished.
adding to the debt?
787 billion dollar stimulus, followed by a 16%(500 billion) increase in the federal budget?
1.53 million jobs is roughly 1% of the workforce.
for 1.287 trillion dollars, we could give 5 million americans 50k a year for the next 5 years, and still save money.
