Well, now she doesn't deserve any respect. Too bad. She'll be a Democrat by tomorrow. Way to go NRCC. You sure can pick 'em.
"Since beginning my campaign, I have told you that this election is not about me; it’s about the people of this District," Scozzafava wrote in an e-mail sent to supporters this afternoon.
"It is in this spirit that I am writing to let you know I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same."
"It’s not in the cards for me to be your representative, but I strongly believe Bill is the only candidate who can build upon John McHugh's lasting legacy in the U.S. Congress. John and I worked together on the expansion of Fort Drum and I know how important that base is to the economy of this region."

She was a union tool at all points.
She stayed bought.
There should be precious little surprise.

heads need to roll. Pete Sessions, newt steele. They need to leave by the backdoor in disgrace.

You made a big deal about giving her the respect.
Now you want to blame the NRCC? Maybe the crow is on your plate also.

Paul, you're a moron. I broke the story blaming the NRCC, idiot. Try to keep up. I know it's hard when you have to mouth the words as you read. But do try.

Scuzzyfatso turns out to be a liberal? I'm shocked....shocked!!! Once you're bought by the unions, you stay bought.

Every party has a pooper, that's why they invited you...
Scuzzyf***you, Scuzzyf***you.
Every party has a loser, that's why we invited you...
Newt and Mittens. Newt and Mittens.

Newt is a loser, too. The NRCC will have a tough time raising money now if this is an example of how they spend it. The GOP better change.

Newt, you gonna back Owens now?
Posted by: Captain Joe | Sunday, November 01, 2009 at 05:27 PM
Newt is afraid of losing the backing of Frum, Brooks and Chrissy Buckley.
Mitt? Where are you Mitt? Didn't your polling come back fast enough to tell you that backing Dede was a mistake?

This is somewhat "good news" on a larger scale, I think.
Perhaps, in future primaries, our GOP leaders will take more care in their back room selections of candidates, actually selecting ones who at least approximate people who adhere to the articulated Republican positions. See, e.g., http://www.gop.com/index.php/learn/what_we_believe/.
America is self-described 40% conservative, approximately twice that of self-described liberals, and about equal of self-described "moderates" (who, frankly, I believe to tend conservative.)
Put forth candidates who stand for Reagan conservative values and they'll win where it's possible to win, and that's just about anywhere between New York and San Francisco.

I am sure she will live to regret this decision. She is done. Done. If she thinks for one single second that she's going to have a career now pulling a Specter, she has another guess coming. Specter is at the end of his career and could have joined the Slightly Silly Party and would still have a better than good shot at getting re-elected.
While I disagree with her politics, I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt to this woman. I thought she was a class act that had risen above pettiness for the good of her party's principles. She proved herself to be exactly what Stacy McCain and others said she was. Amateur hour: She belongs in the party of Obama.

Dede's (former) campaign manager is backing Hoffman now, tho---says he doesn't want Nancy Pelosi to have any more foot soldiers in congress. Newt has also now come out for Hoffman.
