...or on the wrong coast with 3 days notice. That being said, it's nice to see some Republicans throw off the gimp outfits their GOP masters keep them dressed up in. Hopefully it'll stay off.

"some number of you were apparently too damned afraid to even show up."

Well so sorry that some of us live way out west, and have to actually GO to work to keep a job. Of course I was there checking in regularily people that don't think that I have some sugar daddy paying for my life, but appreciated my thoughts were with them. It might actually help some of us warm up to you if you would remember getting to Washington is a little rougher than it seems to be for you.

To the rest of you that were there for me, I appreciate you. More than you can know.

Evil Red Scandi,

Dan was referring to Congresscritters, not you nor me...Reread the past 3 paragraphs...

People, the last 3 paragraphs and the last sentence are addressed to Congress, not you nor me...RIF

Why was John Boehner allowed to address the crowd today? We don't need Assistant Democrats front running our cause. He should have been booed right out of Washington today. As a registered member of the Tea Party myself, I strongly warn everyone to beware of camels entering our tent. As much as I like Michelle Bachmann, this is exactly what I fear most about her. This is not about Republicans or Democrats. This is about ordinary Americans pushing back against a bipartisan government at war against citizens. Boehner is the enemy regardless of what he says. It weakens our cause to have him making speeches to Tea Party crowds.

Jaysus paysus, so sensitive. Of course I meant Congress. Context, people, context!! ; )

Updated for clarity to prevent any confusion.

"We were young, old, white and blue collar, black, white, red and brown in color but we stood united and indivisible as one heart and one holler. We did it as we have no intention of allowing a seemingly spoiled and arrogant number of DC insiders on a power trip to take our rights and our freedoms away."

Dick Armey is the ultimate D.C. insider and he and his corporate lobbyist sponsors pretty much run the show. The rest of you are pawns who don't even know what your movement is supposed to be about. It's like wealthy retirees on Medicare yelling for the government to stay out of their healthcare.

Retirees, wealthy or not, collecting social security and not employed have no choice but to join Medicare. It's the law.

Its the last damn line in the passage, right above the comment section. How many of you can really think you can quote the post and make changes to it?

Here is the original:

"The liberals in Congress would all know that, too. Unfortunately, some number of them were apparently too damned afraid to even show up."

Here are the so-called quotations of that:

"You'd all know that, too. Unfortunately, some number of you were apparently too damned afraid to even show up."

"some number of you were apparently too damned afraid to even show up."

Not really quotations, are they? When you use quotations, you are supposed to quote EXACTLY as the original. God. Have a little intellectual honesty. It will serve you well when you actually do have a good point.

Bob, thank you for that additional helping of Journolist/Axelturf talking point spam.

Uh Bob, if you have such distaste for America and Freedom loving Americans standing up for it, pick a county, any country, and go there. The only pawns I see are the sheeple that paraded in droves to elect Obama but when the ONE isn't on the ticket they stay home.

"Uh Bob, if you have such distaste for America and Freedom loving Americans standing up for it, pick a county, any country, and go there."

What a phony argument for a phony political movement. The proof is that you have to make up fake enemies like "liberals who hate freedom and America" to justify its lame existence. You people get so caught up with your own rhetoric, making all of these improbable assertions, but I still suspect, deep down, that even YOU know it's all B.S. It's all a big pose. Typical of right wing politics, you pretend to be exactly the opposite of what you are. You pretend to be a populist grass-roots movement, but in fact you're a creation of corporate lobbyists and big-shot Republican politicians. Your goal is to make certain that the needs of regular Americans are NEVER put before those of the movement's corporate funders. Talk about "sheeple."

Bob,

I'm sorry for your loss....

Boob has a point. Actually, no, he doesn't.

I'm sure in his mind, he is a stalwart defender of Freedom. AND, not a sheeple.

Good for you, Boob.

The rest of us really don't give a damn what you have to say.

Bob, thank you for that additional helping of Journolist/Axelturf talking point spam.

"Bob, thank you for that additional helping of Journolist/Axelturf talking point spam.

You guys are too clueless to even formulate a rational argument. Childish taunts are all you've got, apparently. Thanks for proving my point for me.

Keep dreaming Bob. Go ahead and delude yourself, better for the real Americans. The ones who actually pay the taxes and not the parasites who live of other peoples's taxes. Yes Obama and the democrat- communists may very well pass these monstrosities. However when the the pendulum turns and it will, these monstrosities will be repealed and many more leftist legacies as well will also be repealed.

Repeated from another thread and worth it.

Republicans Need A Branding Campaign:

Smaller government and lower spending.

And this time we really mean it.

http://powerandcontrol.blogspot.com/2009/11/republicans-need-branding-campaign.html

Your goal is to make certain that the needs of regular Americans are NEVER put before those of the movement's corporate funders. Talk about "sheeple."

WRONG.

The need of regular Americans, when it comes to health care, is PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT to take care of themselves ... not the Obama/Dim imposition of one-size-fits-all, top-down control by a few "shepherds" of the Best and Brightest, without regard to the specific needs of individuals.

It is you, Bob ... not those who oppose you ... who is the sheep here, for you are more than willing to place the control of your health care -- not just its funding -- under the control of these "shepherds" who are blind as a bat when it comes to what you truly need.

I have yet to get talking points, let alone marching orders, from Armey/FreedomWorks or any other set of "professionals" when it comes to my participation in the Tea Parties ... OTOH, apparently your channel for Dim talking points is fully operational.

Dan, I was there as well (up front but way over on the left) and it was exactly as you say. Lefties like Bob have to denigrate this because they think pretending we are stupid, ill-informed extremists will prevent the bloodletting heading their way like a runaway train. Bob, no point in attacking me; I won't reply and I was a lefty for 26 years. You can't say anything to me I didn't scream probably before you were born. It's old and tired and broken.

The rally was great -- patriotic songs were sung with reverence, we recited the Pledge of Allegiance, flags were waved (all stuff not done by lefty protestors because THEY DON'T BELIEVE IN AMERICA) and some good and brief speeches were made. The top crowd-pleaser was obviously the escapee from the Underground Bunker who delighted the huge crowd over and over with his pithy unscripted remarks and jabs. It was particularly inspiring to see what looked like most of the Republican House members come down the Capitol steps and stand in support, some of them snapping pics and shooting video of the crowd, and later giving brief and inspiring speeches at the podium.

The spirit of the crowd was boisterous but respectful. I met a number of folks who, as we had, had been at the 912 March and Rally. Everyone I met was nice, clean, middle-class or working class; many were elderly but many were teens and we had a 16 month old with us; some had signs (my favorite was a large replica of the Constitution in parchment and shredded very graphically) but unlike 9/12 many of us did not. When it was over, the grass was left as clean and unlittered as we found it. Many of us met, talked to and got pics with Jon Voight and congressmen when they came over to greet us. Later we made our way to the Congressional office buildings, where the enormous crowds and long lines prevented us from entering and chasing down our (in our personal case lefty moonbat) congresscritter but many stayed to do exactly that. (Incidentally there are rumors the righties who got arrested at Queen Pelosi's offices were actually lefties - hopefully we'll find out.) It was after the fact that we found out that was the reason we saw the long line at the Cannon Bldg. being prevented from entering.

We never thought we'd be back less than 2 months after 9/12. Now we have a very strong feeling we'll be back again, possibly more than once, before the next 9/12. The call will be issued and We the People will respond!

"Journolist/Axelturf talking point spam."

Great line! Sums up the knee-jerk comments my Dem friends spew all the time. Thanks for that nugget.

Good post.

Whatta ya doin' slumming, Bob, had enough of 'thinking'(so to speak) over at FB?

"It's like wealthy retirees on Medicare yelling for the government to stay out of their healthcare."

Bob's blabbered about his grandparents before. Bob's grandparents paid into Medicare for their entire working lives, with every single paycheck. That money was taken with the promise that it would be used to pay for THEIR health care.

And what is Barack Obama doing?

"The CBO reports that, in their true first 10 years, the House bill would cost $1.8 trillion, and the Senate bill would cost $1.7 trillion. Pelosi would raise Americans' taxes by $1.1 trillion over that period, while Reid would hike them by $1 trillion.

And the House bill would siphon about $800 billion from Medicare to spend it elsewhere, while the Senate bill would suck out about $900 billion.

So the financial bottom lines are almost the same.

And if we discount the bills' claims to divert hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicare (which is already on the edge of insolvency), the CBO says the House bill would raise our national debt by about $650 billion in its real first decade, while the Senate bill would up it by $740 billion."

Now, what is Barack Obama doing? Taking money AWAY from Medicare to purchase votes....sorry, "buy health insurance" for brats like Bob who don't want to work and don't want to have to pay for anything themselves. Bob is stealing from his grandparents so that he doesn't have to spend his own money.

Your grandparents paid into that system their entire lives, Bob. That is owed to them. Snot-nosed brats like yourself who are lazy don't have any right to steal it from them. The fact that you and your fellow spoiled brats and paid whores like your Obama do so demonstrates just how pathetically corrupt, narcissistic, and selfish you and your Obama Party are.

NDT,

Bob's no youngster....judging by his writing style and vocabulary, I peg him closer to sixty, from New York, and Jewish.

The majority of Americans are against a government take over of our health care. There will be severe political consequences for anyone who votes for this bill.

In my district, there are already two Republican challengers who are organized and raising money to run against the freshman Democratic representative. He is probably going to be voted out next year even if he doesn't vote for the health care bill. He will definitely be gone if he votes for the bill.

I was there too, Dan. I could only afford a few hours from work, though, so I was unable to visit any Congressional offices.

I certainly agree with your comments about the folks there. They were all respectful and attentive. The only loonies I saw were some young counter-protesters, whom I overheard giggling about "screwing with the teabaggers." So cute.

One example of the great type of people there was the walkway, where you had to cross two stone walls in order to move about the area in front of the stairs. Everyone was very helpful, especially with older people.

It was a wonderful experience and very reasurring for a patriot.

North Dallas Forty-Bucks-and-a-Bandaid has no sincere concern for anyone on Medicare, since Republicans tried gutting Medicare for years before realizing how popular such a "government-run healthcare" system is among its beneficiaries. His only concern is shilling for the insurance industry, making sure that nothing in the way of access or affordability for regular people gets in the way of industry profits. In fact, I bet NDFBAAB works for an insurance company, am I right? Shouldn't you recuse yourself from this discussion, to be fair, since you obviously have a conflict of interest that prevents you from taking the well being of regular Americans into account? Enough with your pretense of caring about Medicare recipients, already.

"His only concern is shilling for the insurance industry, making sure that nothing in the way of access or affordability for regular people gets in the way of industry profits."

LOL....problem with that logic is that over 80% of Americans already HAVE health insurance, which demonstrates rather nicely that "regular people" have perfectly adequate access to it.

Furthermore, the average health insurer's profit margin has been roughly 6% -- significantly BELOW multiple industries, none of which the pathetic Obama Party shills like Bob have been bashing.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091025/ap_on_go_co/us_fact_check_health_insurance

By the way, what do trial lawyers average for profits? Over 14% -- but of course, the paid whore Bob defends that, because trial lawyers pay bribes and kickbacks to him and his Obama Party. That's why Bob opposes proven means of lowering costs that would cap attorneys' fees and limit their profits that are DOUBLE that of the health insurance industry.

Meanwhile, notice how the crying and squalling brat Bob is whining about Republicans wanting to "gut Medicare" -- while supporting reducing benefits for which people have already paid by nearly a TRILLION dollars so that brats like Bob can have free health care without having to work or pay for it.

Shills like NDFBAAB, using the same bad faith that characterizes all of their discourse, hope that they can sow confusion by equating Medicare Advantage -- the part of Medicare administered by private insurance companies -- with regular Medicare. The only cuts that are proposed to Medicare are for the Advantage plan, and the reason is that the private insurers can't administer their program as efficiently or inexpensively as the government-run program. Go figure:

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/ezra-klein/2009/09/is_medicare_advantage_worth_it.html

"The argument over Medicare Advantage is pretty simple: The program, which allows private providers to compete for Medicare patients, was supposed to cost as much or less than traditional Medicare. It actually costs 114 percent of what Medicare costs. Democrats want to eliminate those overpayments and force private insurers to live within Medicare's budget, given that they're taking Medicare's money. Republicans say that will cut benefits for retirees, which is something they're suddenly very concerned about."

But of course, the last thing that shills for private insurance companies want is an honest debate. They know that the facts show that government-run Medicare provides a higher satisfaction rate among its beneficiaries than private insurance, and does it more efficiently and with lower costs.

O! realizes he's outmatched and tries to hide his insecurity behind what he hopes will come off as smarty-pants mockery. Unfortunately for him, his posts end up being a pre-emptive admission of his own lameness and emotional immaturity. It's the equivalent of an 8-year-old saying, "I know you are but what am I?" Typical teabagger.

Funny that Klein forgot to mention a major thing about Medicare Advantage plans.

"An enthusiastic participant in this travesty was the Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama. And, now that the voters have been foolish enough to put him in the White House, Obama plans to deliver the coup de gras to MA. This is ironic in the extreme considering that the loss of the program will be most acutely felt by low-income and minority seniors. Medicare Advantage is very popular with these patients because of its reduced co-pays, comprehensive benefits, and increased primary care access. According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), nearly 60% of MA beneficiaries have annual incomes of $10,000 to $30,000. Moreover, nearly 30% of Medicare Advantage enrollees are minorities, compared to about 20% for traditional Medicare.

And it gets worse. One of our most under-reported health care crises involves the increasing difficulty that seniors face in accessing primary care. Even without the planned payment cuts that have long been built into the CMS budget, traditional Medicare pays such a small amount for routine medical services that doctors increasingly cannot afford to take on seniors covered by that program. This problem is particularly acute in rural areas, where Medicare beneficiaries vastly outnumber those with private or employer-sponsored health coverage. MA increased primary care access because its slightly better payment schedule makes it just possible for primary care physicians to accept new Medicare patients without going bankrupt."

http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/03/obama_stiffs_poor_and_minority.html

If either Bob or Klein, both of whom are paid whores for Obama who do nothing but repeat talking points, were more educated in exactly how Medicare Advantage works, they would not be making such foolish statements. In fact, they would realize, unlike the foolish children that they are, that comparing plain Medicare to Medicare Advantage is incorrect, since Medicare Advantage provides benefits above and beyond ordinary Medicare that otherwise can only be obtained by Medigap policies, which cost far more. In addition, they would also realize that expanding Medicare Advantage plans, because they cost less for more benefits, would also reduce the dependence that many seniors have on Medicaid to fill the gap in benefits left by Medicare.

http://www.kff.org/medicare/upload/7744.pdf

http://www.heritage.org/Research/HealthCare/bg2142.cfm#_ftn5

But again, they're paid whores. Bob in particular is obviously unintelligent and incapable of doing anything other than repeating Obama talking points. No facts or logic, just endlessly proclaiming how wonderful Obama is and how everything Obama does is right.

Meanwhile, let's show some more of the behavior for which paid whores Bob and Ezra Klein are now shilling desperately.

Barack Obama screaming and crying that Congresspersons be forbidden from going home or talking to their constituents because he's afraid they'll not do his bidding.

http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/06/pelosi-to-house-caucus-you-cant-go-home-again/

Barack Obama screaming and crying that Hitler comparisons are evil, forgetting what he and his party have been doing for the past eight years.

http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/06/gibbs-can-you-imagine-if-five-years-ago-protesters-had-compared-our-government-to-hitler/

And Barack Obama threatening Obama Party strategists and consultants for appearing on Fox News because it's ruining their argument that Fox News never airs Obama Party views.

http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/06/wh-to-dem-strategists-stop-making-fox-so-balanced/

Every time Bob opens his mouth and defends Obama -- or, as usual, tries to insult others and spin away from what his Obama is doing -- it simply becomes more obvious how the Obama Party is little more than a personality cult devoted to undying worship of The One, and how Bob and his ilk are incapable of doing anything other than that.

"Obama plans to deliver the coup de gras to MA. This is ironic in the extreme considering that the loss of the program will be most acutely felt by low-income and minority seniors. Medicare Advantage is very popular with these patients because of its reduced co-pays, comprehensive benefits, and increased primary care access."

What's that, NDFBAAB, now you're fighting furiously for government healthcare entitlements for Americans, funded by taxpayers and administered by private insurance companies? Why, my goodness, you seem to be advocating something very similar if not identical to the healthcare reform legislation now being drafted in Congress!

"In addition, they would also realize that expanding Medicare Advantage plans, because they cost less for more benefits, would also reduce the dependence that many seniors have on Medicaid to fill the gap in benefits left by Medicare."

Yes, so NDFBAAB really doesn't want Obama to cut that Medicare Advantage program, because it provides such great value to American healthcare consumers. It's about time we had you on-board, NDFBAAB. Now let's make this quality, affordable healthcare available for everyone. See, you just backed yourself into advocating Obama-care. Maybe there ARE ways to make selfish, spiteful a$$h*les like you do the right thing after all.

"What's that, NDFBAAB, now you're fighting furiously for government healthcare entitlements for Americans"

Problem with that logic, poor child, is that those Americans already paid for that health care with forty-plus years of payroll deductions from every single paycheck.

And now worthless whores like yourself want to steal it so you don't have to pay anything, even though you don't pay taxes and haven't contributed a dime yourself.

Medicare is not an entitlement. Those people paid their taxes, and they deserve the health care they were promised for paying that for forty years. You haven't paid a thing, and you are screaming and crying that you should be able to take that money and deny them the health care for which they have already paid because you're too lazy and shiftless to pay for it yourself.

And that really is what ObamaCare is; it's about rewarding the lazy and shiftless like yourself at the expense of the productive. You won't pay a dime for your health care; you'll just force everyone else to pick up the cost for you. Just like you stole from your grandparents when they were alive and tried to hasten their deaths so you could get their money, now you're going to steal from others who have worked their whole lives.

Bob, thank you for that additional helping of Journolist/Axelturf talking point spam.

2010.

Sorry, NDFBAAB, but making up lame untrue things about me can't hide the fact that there's no logical coherence to your arguments any more. Now you yourself are advocating for a quality government healthcare plan. An expanded plan funded by employers, administered mostly by private insurers and subsidized where necessary by a tax increase ONLY on upper-income Americans could painlessly achieve the same quality healthcare for almost everyone. You've clearly bought in to this idea and can't help advocating it when you slip and let your guard down.

"Just like you stole from your grandparents when they were alive and tried to hasten their deaths so you could get their money, now you're going to steal from others who have worked their whole lives."

Now that's just some really desperate sputtering to try to retractively cover-up for your slip-up of advocating for quality government-run healthcare. But it's too late. The cat's outta the bag. North Dallas Forty-Bucks-And-A-Bandaid secretly hearts Obama-Care. Welcome to the team!

Bob, thank you for that additional helping of Journolist/Axelturf talking point spam.

Oh, and remember what y'all were saying about that "crushing defeat" for Obama in Tuesday's elections? Heh . . .

http://mydd.com/story/2009/11/6/163647/277

"Rep. Bill Owens (D-NY) can be counted on as a "yes" in this weekend's expected vote on the House Democrats' health care bill, announcing his support in a press release.

'This legislation will reform the insurance industry and provide increased access to affordable healthcare without taxing healthcare benefits, cutting Medicare benefits or raising taxes on the middle class, and that is exactly the direction we need to go," said Owens. "There are still changes I would like to make, including raising the payroll exemption for small businesses, but like I said last week, there is a fundamental need for reform and we must act with a sense of urgency.'"

Because of that "crushing defeat," Pelosi now has two more "YES" votes for healthcare reform (Owens and Garamendi) than she had last week.

Bob, thank you for that additional helping of Journolist/Axelturf talking point spam.

2010.

THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO GO, FOR ANSWERING THE CALL.

And, as expected, liar Bob tries to bluff his way away from the facts with more blabbering.

"An expanded plan funded by employers, administered mostly by private insurers and subsidized where necessary by a tax increase ONLY on upper-income Americans could painlessly achieve the same quality healthcare for almost everyone."

But unfortunately for Bob, that's not what the ObamaCare plan is. The ObamaCare plan is simply to steal from employers and taxpayers so that worthless paid whores like Bob can have free health care without having to pay a dime. It opposes private insurance and intends to drive it out of business. It intends to raise taxes on everyone regardless of income level through a hodgepodge of new taxes on procedures and devices. And it intends to subsidize people who refuse to work like Bob by stealing the money taken from people over forty-plus years of work.

Scum pig Bob is stealing money from the elderly because he's lazy. That is the core of the ObamaCare plan, and the fact that Bob supports it demonstrates that he is an amoral welfare addict.

Meanwhile, it doesn't surprise anyone but the last of the naifs in NY-23 that Owens lied during his campaign when he stated that he would oppose the health care bill. He can thus be easily replaced in the next election when proof of his lies is presented.

"Scum pig Bob is stealing money from the elderly because he's lazy."

Hey, NDFBAAB, I just dropped by to say EAT IT. The House just passed their healthcare reform bill. One step closer, baby. And all helped by that "crushing defeat" of Obama that gave Pelosi two more crucial votes for passage tonight. There's still a long way to go to get healthcare reform through the Senate, but worth enjoying this historic moment. Apparently, your laughably histrionic prose did nothing at all to turn the tide.

Yes indeed, Bob; we can mark this as the beginning of the end for your "job".

Because next year, with the Obama Party members like Owens who lied to their constituents coming up for re-election, we can see just how completely radioactive cuts of half a trillion in Medicare, massive increases in taxes, and ordinary citizens being threatened with jail terms for exercising their choice not to buy health insurance can be.

The problem with Obamabots like yourself, Bob, is that of all narcissistic children; you don't think about anything other than stealing from others, and insist that you'll never have consequences.

There already are consequences. And soon there will be even more. LOL.
