Gandelman and I had a complete falling out when I told him what I thought of him for suggesting his blog was moderate while allowing Bush Deranged Leftist co-bloggers some time ago. The man is a liar in the truest sense of the word. If we were to accept Gandelman's distorted view of a moderate, then only liberal Republicans would qualify as honest conservatives.
Time was when Joe was a ventriloquist. Perhaps he still is. But it's a pity he moonlights as a dummy on Obama's lapwith The One's hand, or something worse, up Joe's azz. I guess when you have a wooden head, you take whatever action you can get.
Whether its called a “purge,” “purification,” or making sure that candidates are “real” conservatives and “real” Republicans, the bottom line is that it now appears that moderates in the Republican party — already a nearly vanished species — have a future about as bright as VHS video tapes.
So now the question is going to become: which party can piece together a winning coalition? And what will the elements of that coalition be in this highly fluid, changing ideological environment dominated by the left and right?
Too many bloggers, including some notable ones, do conservatism harm by empowering liberals dressed up as moderates to call themselves such. It's actually easier to re-define American politics allegedly from the center when, at best, one is center-Left. Smitty has been after people to so some analysis between this and Joe Lieberman. There is no analysis to be done. Lieberman is a genuine moderate and should be seen as such by both sides. Yet, the Left would characterize him as of the Right. Dede Scozzafava is no more a moderate, than Gandleman is an honest broker in this regard. Unless he's just dumb, which I've never assumed he was. I've little tolerance for conservatives and those of the center-Right without the backbone to call them out. And that goes for some prominent center-Right bloggers who seem as caught up in tolerance as the Left as a way of demonstrating their suitability as serious pundits. All they are really accomplishing is playing into the Left's hands by allowing the Center to be re-defined. There is no difference between doing that and allowing the Left and the media to characterize honest conservatives as extreme. Perhaps they lack the sophistication, or intellect to understand how genuinely damaging to the cause they actually are. Also, read more from Eric at RedState.
The sea change in American politics is that people are paying attention and getting involved. The Moderate Voice loses all credibility, and appears nothing more than a propaganda mill, when they lose the context of what is going on and decry "extremeism"(sic) on the Right.

Boy, they sure got a lot of radical, right-wing extremists up there in NY-23... over half the electorate!
How is a majority possibly considered "extreme"?
Everything's relative, so shifting the scale to the Left is obviously seen as useful to the Alinskyite scum running this country- but it's becoming harder by the day to convince Americans that traditional US values -as embodied in the Arctic Fox- in opposition to the destructive Obama agenda are the agenda of some kind of hate-filled kooks.
By alienating half the country by indulging himself in his paranoid narcissism, Obama has blown the unprecedented -and undeserved- goodwill he's enjoyed in record time- and IMHO is making an ass of himself at this point.
Let this election on Tuesday be shot across the bow for those currently steamrolling over everything that made this country great- we just don't hate America as much as you do Barack... sorry.

The perfect example of Moderate American is Mayor Mommy-Nanny Mike Bloomberg. Here is a life-long Democrat-turned-Republican-so-he-could-win-then-turned-Independent-when-the-cool-kidz-demonized-RepublicanGuilianiBushHilter.
Here is the Moderate American:
--creates or saves jobs just like Oba Mao creates or saves jobs by stimulated stolen tax dollars handed to Goldman Sachs then finagles the numbers and rigs the game.
-bans fat
-is incapable of completing projects-eight years later and the WTC remains a massive hole in the ground
-terrorism? what terrorism, get a life
-promotes NBC-GE Greenie tyranny on everyone else BUT themselves
-taxes everything which moves including the babies moving in the womb
-gives out free condoms for those special internet moments
-encourages abortion while encouraging internet kiddie porn to alleviate the guilt.
-believes they're above 'tea-partiers'
-spends $20 grand per student (those who survived their abortion) per year indoctrinating stupidity then rigs the numbers to appear smart.
most important Moderate characteristic:
-panders to every Political Identity group to get campaign cash by making promises they will NEVER keep.
Moderates, this is how you are represented in the political world and remarkably you are quite simular to the Progressive Left.
How much longer will Moderates endure such humiliation and embarrassment while maintaining some sort of sanity?

I have been saying this for years. Too many on the right in the name of being seen as politically correct, sensible and reasonable. Have unknowingly allowed the center in this country to be re-defined thanks to the power and influence Liberals now exert over the Academia, Hollywood and Big Media which have played a big role in shaping popular culture over the last few decades. The double-standard has now become so extreme that I honestly see no real way forward. This is way I am often times so pissed with people like Colin Powell, David Frum, David Brooks and others whom I respect and admire despite our slightly different political views. These individuals and others like them are aiding and abetting efforts to re-define the center of America's political spectrum without any honest debate but instead through the back-door. This is often why even though I am against intra-party fights and any kind of "purge" I sometimes can't help but feel that it might have to occur at some moderate level to tilt the scales back to some semblance of balance. I mean by popular definition any Republican's to the left of Snowe or Specter are far-right fringe. Oops did I name Specter, mistake seeing as he has now crossed the aisle. I mean Republican must denounce and condemn Rush but Moore, Mayer & Olbermann are perfectly mainstream. Barrack Obama gets to compare an unrepentant domestic criminal in Bill Ayers to a well respected, ardently pro-life, duly elected U.S Senator Tom Coburn and that according to popular sentiment is a perfectly valid comparison. The has been a clear shift in U.S political sensibilities and unfortunately some on the Republican's side were either asleep when it happened, assisted this shift knowingly or unknowingly or do not have the stomach to try an right the imbalance.

Reagan understood. Palin understands.
Run with conviction, conviction in conservative values. Don't worry about what the media says. Don't worry about what the GOP intelligentsia says. Speak to the people of what YOU believe, not what the polls say you should believe to be elected. Contrast clearly the differences between your beliefs and those of your opponent. But, do it with style and class tinged with humor.
The voters will have a choice between a clear conservative and a non-conservative. In the vast majority of cases, the conservative will win.
Hopefully NY-23 has taught the GOP power structure a lesson.
