Much to write about today, but along with doing some interviews with two sitting Republican Representatives, I've a presentation to prepare for DMAW's Social Media Day tomorrow.
I've what I think are some reasonably important thoughts on yesterday, including NY - 23 - what it was and what it was not. I believe a great many people in the movement, including some leaders, misunderstand it. More on that later. You might begin with Ann Althouse for now. Doug Hoffman seems like a great guy, but he was a flawed candidate to start. That he got where he did speaks volumes. But why it all happened may not be why you are thinking it did. As I've said in the headline, I'll be back, ... in a bit.
Also, if the media gets any more protective of Obama especially while getting it so wrong, if not simply making chit up, I'm going to hurl. CNN's political guy Preston is either a moron, or so in the tank, he's incapable of anything one could call reasonable thought. Perhaps it's both. What a waste of web space his nonsense is - it's actually embarassing. That's hard to do considering it's CNN.

That photo of Hoffman up at Altman's is vaguely reminiscent of the photo of psycho inmate Jimmy Carter in straight jacket and chains that Dan hilariously uses at times. Whoever told Hoffman that that picture should be his main identity should be fired as an advisor. Well now that advisor will at least be laid off.

I asked Stacy McCain to address that Althouse post. He was on the ground in NY-23. While an unabashed Hoffman supporter, RSM may have recogized that Owens was a pretty good choice for the Democrats (he was certainly a better choice than Dede Scozzafava). Given the divisions in the GOP and the confusion of having Dede Scozzafava stomping around amuk, that Hoffman did as well as he did was amazing.
