Somehow, somewhere along the way we must have fallen through some trap door into an alternate Evil-Spock-With-A-Beard universe because there is no way that any rational human being can possibly, really believe what our politicians and their shuffling, head bobbing Igor media are telling us. Not only that, for the life of me I can’t begin to imagine that they believe it themselves, but they seem quite sincere.

I agree wholeheartedly! Like most of this rubbish that is coming from them -no one- could believe it! And I'm sure they don't either; I have been overwhelmed with the relationships that politicians have with special interest groups.
