Accuracy In Media doesn't exactly show any love for former Speaker Newt Gingrich as the Dede Scozzafava fiasco draws to a close. It does seems a little curious. Exactly when did Newt decide Dede was "unsustainable" and why did he stick with her until the bitter end? If it was a lack of coordination between conservatives and Republicans, as he now claims, why did Gingrich side with the Republicans and not the conservative base? It makes him look like something of a party guy. And this one has left him with a huge hangover it seems.
Newt's endorsement or failure to withdraw it after several GOP members of Congress endorsed Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman didn't effect the final outcome of the election, but it calls into question his judgment and just how committed he is to conservative principles.
Note also how Newt blamed Scozzafava, the process by which she was selected, etc... but never admitted that he made the wrong choice.
Be a man Newt, admit you blew it.

IMO too late for Newt re public office, let alone the WH- never again.
Anybody who had a finger in allowing Scozzy to waddle-off after $1M of RNC/RNCC support was made a fool of, even scammed- and cost us a safe conservative seat. Gingrich and Steele come to mind immediately.
His refusal to man-up and admit his mistakes betrays character flaws- but we already knew that.
