Damn. This is a a pretty brutal act of pre-election terrorism.
At least 21 people among a group of local politicians and journalists were killed in the southern Philippines on Monday shortly after being abducted, the military said.
The killings appeared to be linked to a political rivalry that flared ahead of next year's national elections, according to the military and relatives of some of those believed killed.
"Our army troopers have reached the area where the vehicles and those held were taken... they were shot by the armed men," regional military chief Major General Alfredo Cayton said in a radio interview.

"The journalists were accompanying the wife of Esmael Mangudadatu and his supporters to file his candidacy for governorship of the mostly Muslim southern province of Maguindanao in next year's national elections."
As we go into the details...
"Elections in the Philippines are usually marred by violence, especially in the south of the country, where security forces are battling communist rebels, Islamic radicals and the clan rivalries."

This one apparently is a clan rivalry!
But don't worry Dan, the election process has just begun and you count on communist and islamist violence that we can surely blame at least partly on Obama out-reach...

Muzzies cuttin off people's heads? Nuttin to see ... move along (sez Obamedia). Thank goodness for cable ... watched the vastly different tenor and tone, yesterday on the Asian/Phillipine network (in Tagalog!). Needless to say ... an entire world of difference.
