I don't know how Dede Scozzafava ends up in all this. But I don't mind going on record to say I don't begrudge her anything at all. She looks to have been recruited for this slot, then gotten caught up in a maelstrom. She's still a human being. But with the Albany Times Union pointing out that the NRCC slashed it's funding a week ago. And reports on the ground now confirming a pull-out. Well, it is what it is. Politics is hardball. And there are fast ones flying everywhere in this one.
The NRCC has backed off of attacking Hoffman and has tapered independent expenditures helping Scozzafava — only spending around $7,500 over the past seven days after spending nearly $900,000 in the preceding weeks.

So is Sarah Palin a human being. And they all but crucify her. So Scozzafava is a human being? So what? Let her act like a human being and drop out of the race.

So, I should be like them?
No thanks.

I totally agree with you on Scozzafava, she is a human being. I don't agree with her views and I would rather see a conservative elected. That said, I don't see what purpose it serves attacking her appearance and some of the other petty nonsense.

They spent nearly a million dollars before they came to their senses, and then they wonder why
we doubt theur judgement, much less their sanity

An important thought for the GOP to ponder in idle moments during their plummet off of the cliff would be how much easier (and cheaper) it would be to be on the same side with not only conservatives, but with mainstream America. It is very expensive to sell cancer. Wasn't it easier and more fun back then? Me? I'm still having fun AND WINNING.
The only question left for the GOP is whether there will even be a Republican party after 2010. Not if the corrupt Gangs of McCain remain in control. I hope they do. They should just merge with the Democratic Party and stop pretending that this is not what they have trying to do. The GOP has become irrelevant as a weak appendage to that party except as a useful foil for us Tea Party types.
It's great being us.

Well there is that aspect of it, Phil, it
sometimes feels like 'ground hog day', with this bunch.

"But I don't mind going on record to say I don't begrudge her anything at all. She looks to have been recruited for this slot, then gotten caught up in a maelstrom. She's still a human being."
The same could be said of Harriet Miers. You'd think the GOP would learn OneOfTheseDays™

Scozzafava is a rino. She operates on an ongoing basis to undermine conservatism. There are many others in the GOP who do so as well. This is why I (and I am sure many others) never donate a penny to the RNC but I will occasionally give financial support to individual candidates. When the republican party solicits me for money I write "Start Running Conservatives and Backing Conservative Ideals or no $" and I send it back to them on their dime. When all conservatives start doing that, things will change and there will not be Scozzafavas running as republicans in this country.
