I don't feel good about anyone losing their job. So, I dont' want this sound like I'm dancing on someone's grave. But as an organization, that's one grave I could do just a little more than dance on. But that would be NSFW. Ha!
I wonder if any of their so-called all star columnists end up hitting the bricks? Filed under: Going, going ....
The New York Times plans to eliminate 100 newsroom jobs — about 8 percent of the total — by year’s end, offering buyouts to union and non-union employees, and resorting to layoffs if it cannot get enough people to leave voluntarily, the paper announced on Monday.
Frank Franklin II/Associated PressThe program mirrors one carried out in the spring of 2008, when the paper erased 100 positions in its newsroom, though other jobs were created, so the net reduction was smaller. That round of cuts included some layoffs of journalists — about 15 to 20, though The Times would not disclose the actual figure — which was the first time in memory that had happened.

They really do need to spruce the place up. Make it less Dowdy.

This couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch. As for the NYTs, nothing written in this fishwrap is worthy of posterity, nor the loss of any more trees to create it. As a matter of fact, I hope the entire operation goes belly up, never to appear again.

Question: Who will the NYT endorse for President in 2012?
Answer: The question is irrelevant since the NYT will have folded by then.

If my memory wasn't so bad, I'd give the originators of my comments below, their proper due.

I don't want to see the NYT go away in the same way that I don't want GM of Ford to go away, I don't want The United States to go away.
I like the NYT because frequently I'll use it as source material against liberals. Hey if it's in the the Times...?
