Some interesting follow-up from a RedState item by Eric highlighting Crist's Dirty Tricks campaign aganist Rubio.
Rich Heffley, Charlie Crist’s campaign consultant, created the website.
Heffley rents his office space from the Republican Party of Florida at 420 E Jefferson Street in Tallahassee, FL.
Guess who also rents his campaign office space at the same address?
According to the Federal Elections Commission, Charlie Crist pays the Republican Party of Florida $1606.00 a month in rent for his campaign.
Funny, that Crist's hit team would rely upon a Jamie Miller to suggest Rubio doesn't have a chance as the new Kathrine Harris - a woman who, unlike Sweet Charlie, at least looked like she had some male anatomy when it counted most. Assuming Miller was correct about Crist here, just as he sold out the people of Florida when he couldn't resist giving Obama a man-squeeze, he has sold them out, again by running for a Senate seat.
How long will Florida tolerate politicians more interested in putting personal ambition over what's best for the people and the very principles said politicians allegedly stand for? Frankly, Crist has always struck me as the type who would sooner bend over, or lie down for his own benefit, than take a stand for something greater than himself - which might not even be very much ... without the tanning light, anyway. Senator Priss doesn't really have much of a ring to it, imo.
...Not only is Crist more inclined to run for re-election because he has been a good governor, it offers him the same political opportunities, and will be easily reelected; he will also run for reelection because the implications for the Republican Party in Florida and nationally are just too great. At the end of the day, the risk is not worth the reward for Crist and the GOP. There are several potential candidates for the U.S. Senate who will be competitive should they become the GOP’s nominee for U.S. Senate and should the GOP lose that seat for the U.S. Senate, it will not be nearly as devastating for the GOP as it will be should a Democrat win the governor’s mansion.

"it will not be nearly as devastating for the GOP as it will be should a Democrat win the governor’s mansion."
Huh?
We already HAVE a democrat in the governor's mansion. He just RAN as a republican. But he's governed as a tax-hiking, stimulus-pushing, Gorebull warming economy-strangling Democrat... (Hey, Governor, how well do you think Florida's tourist-dependent economy will fare under $10/gal gas? I doubt many folks will gas up the ol' Yugo, strap the kids to the roof, and head down to Disney World...)

The political leadership in FL is a debacle. I'm amazed FL keeps afloat. I didn't vote for Crist. The Diaz Balart brothers are a disappointment. I voted for Lincoln, I regret it. The district above has Lt. Col. West running. He was ignored by the GOP in '08 and last I heard they're doing it again this time. Hopefully that will change.

No longer. From one end of Florida to the other, Marco Rubio is besting Crist in every straw poll. We are very much in a "throw the bums out" mood and Crist #1 bum.
Crist's backing by the NRSC has done nothing for him and everything for Rubio. Trust me, the Conservative base is fired up. Crist stooping to dirty tricks while the primary is still a year out shows that he knows that he is in deep trouble.

A lot of us are fed up with this snake down here...
Personally, I don't think he can win a senate race nor can he win a governors race again. Of course that will probably not stop the morons in the NRSC from backing him all the way.
