Just when you thought San Fran Nanny's eyes couldn't be opened any wider.
Congressional approval rose sharply in the months after President Obama's inauguration, from 19% in January to 31% in February and 39% in March. Approval then began to slip gradually, dipping to 31% by the end of the summer, before falling precipitously in October. Given the current 21% reading, it appears that any "honeymoon" period for the 111th Congress has eroded.
A couple interesting thoughts about this. The numbers weren't that great before the election. The media coverage around Obama during the election likely drove them up more than anything. And right from the top, Pelosi was crowing about her vision of a new America now that the whole power team was assembled.
The problem is, between internal processes that put a Left that's out of step with America in charge in Congress and the pass on Obama by the media, there's now an entire government too far Left for most folk's taste.
As for the Senate, what is there to say but Harry Reid. Talk about a not ready for prime-time player in the public eye. So, the Democrats owned everything post November 2008. And thanks to poor leadership and a Leftist ideology, they blew it and can't even comprehend the road back. As currently comprised, they are all but incapable of coming back to the center.
Republicans haven't done themselves any big favors, yet. But they really haven't had to up until now. But if they really want to capitalize on Democrat mis-steps, they'd better get it in gear going into 2010.
Pelosi has looked like one of the worst Speakers in history from the get go. And the public has caught on. Now, here's an interesting end point. Just yesterday the Left was pushing its usually BS - the Republicans are mostly male and all white.
Well, we have our first female House Speaker and first black president. Both of them look like incompetent morons. So, how much do you think the American people are going to care about the typical cards the liberals always play? My guess is, not much.
Right now many Americans may be mumbling to themselves, Where the hell da white men at? Race and gender have never mattered to them as much as the Left. What they want is good leadership. And the current crop of Democrats can't deliver it. They've had their chance.

How, exactly, is an approval rating of 39% a "honeymoon"?

Well, that was the period when they still thought they were going to screw the American people!

Harry Reid, with the appearance of a funeral director, doesn't exactly exude a sense of prosperity. When you see him in action, you know that being a funeral director is in his blood. So far, this term, the Senate has seemed like it was holding a wake for the country.

"Well, we have our first female House Speaker and first black president. Both of them look like incompetent morons."
They are. That's because they were selected by liberals based on minority status, not on competence or intelligence.

Support Danny Tarkanian. He's facing Harry from Searchlight, and is a real conservative. While you're at it send Dr. Joe Heck, emergency room physician and Army Reserve colonel, to congress.

How dare you!
Insulting incompetent morons in that condescending manner?
The nerve!

"And the current crop of Democrats can't deliver it. They've had their chance."
Nope. Obama's president until 2013, and Pelosi's up for re-election in 2010, which she'll win, the Dems will maintain a majority in the House and she'll remain Speaker. So get used to it.
As for the Dems popularity, they pass a Public Option, it will rebound bigtime. And the popularity of congressional republicans is even lower than the Democrats.
Hey NDT, still supporting Israeli nuclear attacks on the NYC and DC?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Most Transparent Congress EVAH's numbers dip into the single digits for a little while PRIOR to the election, back around July of 2008?

As reported today -
The new AP/GfK poll finds that President Obama has a 56% approval rating, up from 50% in September -- and the first time that his approval rating has increased in the AP/GfK surveys. Disapproval is at 39%, down from 49% last month.
The scare tactics didn’t work. The average “thinking” American looks at their financial position, and seeing no real substantive policy from the GOP, is sincerely hoping for any change from the status quo. Dan, you really need to lead, follow or get out of the way here. Fat dump and opinionated is no way to go through life.

What's funny here is how the two desperate Obama Party members WPE and Southern Values are talking about what the Obama Party and their Barack Obama are "going" to and "will" do.
You'd think they would have accomplishments to point at by now.
But instead, unemployment has skyrocketed, the economy has stalled, and the only things growing by leaps and bounds are the Federal deficits and the number of ethics and tax evasion charges against Barack Obama and his Obama Party.
What the American people are now looking at is the record of failure -- and the willingness of Barack Obama and the Obama Party to take away from those who work and pay taxes to give to welfare addicts who refuse to do either.
The Obama Party knows that -- which is why they're desperately pushing out propaganda like this.
"The new AP/GfK poll finds that President Obama has a 56% approval rating, up from 50% in September -- and the first time that his approval rating has increased in the AP/GfK surveys. Disapproval is at 39%, down from 49% last month."
No surprise, when you look at who they polled.
http://www.ap-gfkpoll.com/pdf/AP-GfK_Poll_Full_Topline_10609.pdf
In short:
-- 43% Obama Party, up from 39% in September
-- 32% Republican, down from 33% in September
-- 5% declared independent, down from 8% in September
Gee, what a surprise. Oversample Obama Party members and you get more Obama supporters. What should be scaring the hell out of the Obama syncophants is that even with ridiculous oversampling they can barely get above 50%.

Yeah, fixing the Bush Recession / Depression is going to take awhile. Big surprise. Funny it's conservatives that think Obama should be able to wave his hands and make the mess they created magically go away. Considering the cluserf*** they created, I'd want to blame somebody else too. Reality is, it's going to take years to clean up that mess. Fiscal conservatives, my ass.
Hey NDT, still rooting for Israel to nuke the East Coast?

"Yeah, fixing the Bush Recession / Depression is going to take awhile. Funny it's conservatives that think Obama should be able to wave his hands and make the mess they created magically go away."
Mainly because that's what he promised back in January, when he claimed his "stimulus" bill would stop unemployment from going over 8% and not add to the deficit.
http://www.businessandmedia.org/articles/2009/20090603145014.aspx
Of course, WPE, the little Obama syncophant, isn't capable of recognizing that. Instead of holding Barack Obama accountable for his statements, WPE screams and cries that everyone who does so is "racist" and tries to blame Bush and conservatives for Obama's failures.
Your problem, WPE, is that as a liberal, you've never met a competent black person. Among conservatives, we know that black people are not automatically incompetent based on their skin color. That's why we hold Obama accountable; we have the same expectations for him that we do of white people.
You, on the other hand, see black people as inferior. That's why you spin and cover up and insist that nothing that ever goes wrong can ever be Obama's fault.
"Hey NDT, still rooting for Israel to nuke the East Coast?"
Since you want to make the accusation of that, why not provide the cite for it?
http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2009/10/house-spectacle-pelosi-worst-ever.html
And what's really funny is that you don't care about killing Americans, WPE; you've made that abundantly clear with your support of the Obama Party. When al-Qaeda does it, you and your fellow Obama Party members insist that America deserves it, that they're all "little Eichmanns" there in "Hymietown", and "God damn America".
So again, spare us the fake outrage, especially since both you and your Barack Obama seemingly have no qualms about seeing millions of them Jooos that you and your Reverend Wright whine about die in a nuclear attack.

NDT,
That was uncalled for! No reason to throw facts at projection and conjecture. :) Nice pointing out the polling data.
As for cleaning up the mess comments, isn't that what the One ran on? I mean he ran on a lot of things that he hasn't even remotely come close to solving.
Of course, when a liberal is presented with something they can't argue, they litter their already weak argument with red herrings and straw men. Mix in a few personal attacks and you have yourself a pretty good recipe for the liberal argument.
I don't usually like to argue a straw man by throwing another one at it, but...
If Obama does get his way, his mess will take decades to clean up.

Danny Tarkanian is conservative?
Danny Tarkanian gave contributions to Shelly Berkley, a liberal Democrat.
His mom is a Democrat elected to our city council.
His dad attended fundraisers for liberals.
Where can you prove that he is a conservative? He has never even been elected to office. Fat chance!

I wish the odumbo supporters would get some new material.Everything is bushs fault and throwing racist around is old and tiring. It's past time for the msm to get off their knee pads and hold odumbo and his admistration responsible for the mess they brought this country to.Grow up,quit crying and grow a spine, and I repeat, get some new material.

My Mom & Dad contributed to Obama. My wife contributed to Clinton. Does that make me "not a conservative"? And whats this "never been elected to office" crap? I thought we WANTED citizen-legislators? now he's got to be a professional politician to take on the Jackass from Searchlight? Please. I've met Danny; I met Chuck Heath, Sarah Palin's dad, at one of Danny's events this weekend. Chuck says Danny's a conservative; Danny says Danny's a conservative; Danny's stance on the issues, and the gun observer say Danny's a conservative. That means more to me than some anonymous naysayer. Especially when the alternatives are Sue Lowden and Mark Amodei, who is both a State Senator AND a registered lobbyist..

"The average 'thinking' American"?
As opposed to the non-average non-sentient American, presumably.

We’ll if you wish to be specific – as opposed to someone how doesn’t think for themselves but gets their opinions provided to them. Kind of like the Right.
