LMAO Watch the netroot's heads explode. They betrayed Lieberman for Ned Who?, let's not forget that. Now that failed Lefty power grab is coming back to bite them on the azz. There's absolutely no reason for Lieberman to cave on this. They gave him the opportunity to show his strength as an Independent and he proved it. Choke on that, Libs.
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) said Tuesday that he’d back a GOP filibuster of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s health care reform bill.
Lieberman, who caucuses with Democrats and is positioning himself as a fiscal hawk on the issue, said he opposes any health care bill that includes a government-run insurance program — even if it includes a provision allowing states to opt out of the program, as Reid has said the Senate bill will.
ps - Conservatives, don't make the same mistake as we move on down the road. And I am not talking about NY - 23. That is not so consequential as it may seem. There's nothing wrong with pushing back against the GOP up there, but I wouldn't make it a habit against a strong incumbent true moderate nonetheless.

I think the important thing to remember here is the national conservatives weren't the ones who pushed aside Fava-Beans. They simply looked at the candidates who WERE ALREADY RUNNING, and said "Who best reflects conservative principles and values in this race?" It clearly wasn't MRS. "Look at My Margaret Sanger Award" AFL-CIO. She was a bad choice from the get-go. It's not the fault of national conservatives that the local GOP leadership is so lacking in understanding of conservative principles that they put up this clueless idiot on the Republican ticket.
I sincerely hope that the Inside the Beltway crowd is paying attention here. Whether Hoffman ultimately prevails or not, the ultimate target isn't Fava-Beans: it's those inhabiting the halls of the GOP leadership. They can ignore the message at their peril, but then whose fault will it be if similar situations arise where principled conservatives are so repulsed by the choice of the GOP leadership that either staying home completely or voting for a third-party candidate are the only true alternatives?

Joe's got nothing to lose. He's already shown he can run as an I and get elected. So he's free to give Micro Marcos and his Mouthy Minions the 'moutza"...

connecticut, #3 on life expectancy for US states, 80.1 years.

if the libs are crying about our low life expectancy as a sign of our failures, why would lieberman vote aginst his own individual state's success?

Also remember that CT is the home state of many/most of the nation's insurance companies. Maybe the biggest surprise is not that Lieberman is opposed but that Dodd supports it. But Dodd has his own problems these days...

Agreed Dan. This is why, here in my town, I'll have to get active in the local RINO clubs. Better to do these things over the long haul from within. To paraphrase InstaMan, revolution is a process, not an event.
