Funny that Arlen Specter would come out for a robust public health care insurance option on the very same site that once headlined his opposition to that very thing as recently as May.
Fast forward to today at the Huffington Post: Arlen Specter: Supporting a Robust Public OptionSpecter Won't Back Public Health Care Or Employee Free Choice Act (VIDEO)
Arlen Specter, T (for traitor) was previously highlighted by the Lefty blogs as the highest paid shill for corporate America in his strong opposition to a public option for health care reform. Perhaps he was, once. I guess he needs union money, now. And to think, it all started with one Tweet.
Not counting the huge amounts of money given to presidential candidates like Obama, McCain and Kerry, the biggest "donations" have gone to the 3 worst industry shills who have been well-paid to make sure there will never be effective, robust health care reform:
Arlen Specter (R-D- PA- $4,026,933)
Max Baucus (DLC- MT- $2,833,731)
Mitch McConnell (R-KY- $2,758,468)
So much for principle and judgment. What a desperate, pathetic figure Specter cuts today. He's just a shell of a man who doesn't want to let go of his cherished Senate office no matter what, even after all these years. One doesn't need any more reason than this to back Pat Toomey, regardless of his political views. Character matters. And on this especially critical issue, Arlen Specter is more than willing to reveal that he has none. Pathetic. With Specter, you don't even get what you pay for - imagine that.
Sen. Arlen Specter just posted on his Twitter account: "People who like their current insurance ought to be able to keep it — but let's have one more choice: a public option."
And this comes just after his Democratic primary opponent in the 2010 Pennsylvania Senate race, Rep. Joe Sestak, said Tuesday he would "find it hard" to support a health care bill without a public option.
After becoming a Democrat in April, Specter has marched to the left (he initially opposed a public option) and will likely continue to do so in the face of what could be a tough primary challenge. But will that include opposing a Senate health care bill if it lacks the public option — and if Sestak comes out opposed to it?

Most Moderate-Independents don't have either character or principles which is why they vote for Specter's Snowe job at every opportunity.

Mr. Specter vote will always be the one for the money. He has a reputation for once being bought he stays bought (unless a better offer is issued).
