Update: More on the speech via Dan at Work in Progress.
A major address to Congress two days before 9/11 and one day after four servicemen were killed in Afghanistan. How many times did he mention them, anyway?
I forget.
Get your health care speech round up via Glenn. Plenty of links. Here - plenty more here, as well.

"A major address to Congress two days before 9/11 and one day after four servicemen were killed in Afghanistan. How many times did he mention them, anyway?"
And let me guess, if he DID mention them, you'd be criticizing him for exploiting them for political purposes, just like when he planned to visit the veterans' hospital in Germany during the campaign. It's always a case of "damned if he does, damned if he doesn't."

Sarah has this to say
Finally, President Obama delivered an offhand applause line tonight about the cost of the War on Terror. As we approach the anniversary of the September 11th attacks and honor those who died that day and those who have died since in the War on Terror, in order to secure our freedoms, we need to remember their sacrifices and not demonize them as having had too high a price tag.

What about the 20,000 Americans who die every year from the effects of having no health insurance? Are their lives so meaningless that Riehl can't even bother to mention them when he's criticizing Obama for not mentioning other deceased Americans? Every year, the death toll of the uninsured amounts to about 10 times the 9/11 attacks. And they don't die because of foreign terrorists, but rather from uncaring shills in the conservative movement and their corporate lobbyist friends.

If 20,000 Americans die each year then why is Obamacare not going to kick in until 2013? 80,000 people sacrificed.

It's always a case of "damned if he does, damned if he doesn't."
I think that is a direct transcription of the democrat playbook from 02-08 for bush.
sorry bob. can't speak for dan, but there is really nothing critical that can be said by a president calling upon a nation to consider(if not pray) for those fighting a war overseas.
assembling a congress for a speech is a rare occurrence, and soldiers are being killed, supporting his policies. It was worth a mention in that time and place...unless it reflects poorly upon the president, as our current policy in afghanistan should.
he mentioned "economy" three times, but never in a way that acknowledges our hard times.
"unemployment"? zero.
best line of the night?
"Everyone in this room knows what will happen if we do nothing. Our deficit will grow."
an irony in that his own budget is dependent upon borrowing 9 trillion dollars, and leaving office in 8 years, with a deficit higher than 5% of gdp, in his final fiscal year. No chance obama's plan can actually save us a couple of trillion, while he is president.

O Bob. I think it is past your bedtime. Seriously?
Yep BO wants to most certainly erase the events of 9/11. Was happy to see Sarah Palin call him out on it.

"What about the 20,000 Americans who die every year from the effects of having no health insurance?"
Given that Barack Obama and the Obama Party haven't reached into their own pockets to pay for these people, I think it obvious that you don't care one whit about them, Bob.
Given that Barack Obama and the Obama Party lie on their financial disclosures and refuse to pay their taxes, it's even more obvious that you have no intention of paying for them in the future either.
You are the classic definition of a moocher, trying to destroy the productive to make yourself feel better about your laziness.

Oh, and Bob, Obama blabbered about how we shouldn't use "scare tactics" and that how doing so indicates one is not arguing in "good faith" and shows how one is only interested in partisan politics.
So your whining that "20,000 people will die if we don't do exactly what Obama says" qualifies as all of the above.
Notice again how Barack Obama imposes rules that he himself won't follow. It's the mark of a lying, cheating hypocrite. No wonder the black fool opposes requiring voters to show identification to register and supports voter fraud. He isn't capable of doing anything without cheating.

And finally, Bob you and your Obamamessiah and your Obama Party have been blabbering that "47 million Americans" are uninsured.
Tonight, the figure was "30 million"?
So why did you, Obama, and the Obama Party lie about that number? Do you regularly lie and put up misleading numbers for partisan reasons?

Obama's Green the Block celebrations will be held on 9/11. Doesn't that make you all happy?
Posted by: Lala | Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 02:14 AM
green the block celebrations?
and I thought kwanzaa was the be all, end all.
can't wait to get his mug on us currency. if he does a bang up job on inflation, he can put his face on the 50,000 dollar bill.

And you know what's funny? Even the Associated Press, of all people, says that Obama's a bald-faced liar.

In 232 days of his presidency he has not mentioned our soldiers at all that are over their dying. He could care less. I am ashamed for our country and our soldiers. You think he will go and see them during the holiday season ?
Posted by: WBestPresidentEver | Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 03:08 AM
OMG...THERE GOES THAT BOB THINGY TALKING ABOUT 20,00O DYING EVERY YEAR BECAUSE OF NO HEALTHCARE. He and Obama need to get a room.
Posted by: WBestPresidentEver | Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 03:10 AM
America has to get through this period. He is a complete liar and everyone with a brain knows it to be a fact. Time well take care of this fool and all who voted for him.

"America has to get through this period. He is a complete liar and everyone with a brain knows it to be a fact."
I'm sorry, but what pathetic bullshit you wing nuts have at your disposal right now. It's literally nothing but childish name-calling. The jackass from North Carolina -- whatsisname -- that shouted at Obama last night is truly the face of your party right now. You disgrace our democracy.

Troll "Roberta" finally shows up? Where's he been for the last three days? Oh yeah, licking his wounds over the Van Jones incident! Big baby had the big cry, and now he's back with a vengeance. ;-)

"Big baby had the big cry . . ."
Ad rem, you seem to have the distinction of being the most petty and childish of all the wing-nut posters here. Well done -- you had lots of tough competition to get there.

Roberta takes the bait.......

"Roberta takes the bait......."
..... and Ad rem pulls more poo from his diaper and smears it on the wall.

Roberta,
Interesting how you liberals always end with the "anal" reference. Your choice of personal life-style seems to taint every comment you make. You really need to start hanging out in higher "circles".
Posted by: Ad rem | Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 05:40 PM
Ad rem, seriously, do you enjoy engaging in nothing but juvenile insults? To me it gets boring really fast, so I'll leave you to your incredibly hilarious and intelligent comments. I can only wonder what you imagine you're accomplishing. Do you think what you say bothers me even slightly? Do you think I care if some pathetic loser named "Ad rem" makes anus jokes and calls me "Roberta?" Dude, get a clue. To me, your lame sense of humor is like rain falling in Timbuktu for all I care. But heck, knock yourself out if that's how you like to entertain yourself. I couldn't care less.

Must be Roberta's time of month....
