Update: Better make that anti-military and anti-Israel WH, too. Can you hear the poll numbers on Obama dropping, or are they going faster than the speed of sound? Obama's under the Van, that's under the Bus, and health care reform is speeding down the highway out of view.

This morning information surfaced that Jones was on the organizing committee of a newspaper called WAR TIMES -- "A New, Biweekly, Tabloid Newspaper Opposing the "War on Terrorism."

The WAR TIMES document asserts that the "world's most powerful nation has mercilessly bombed Afghanistan and is installing a neo-colonial government of its own choosing, although that country has never attacked the U.S. Millions of Afghans have been displaced and face starvation this winter. The administration has also green-lighted massive Israeli assaults on Palestine, and it threatens to attack Iraq, Lebanon, Somalia, and other countries. The agenda seems clear: to remake the world in the rightwing image with little regard for human consequences."

This is especially interesting given Obama's decision to call the Boston police stupid during the entire Henry Gates affair. Now we find out that this Van Jones was a Mumia supporter? And spare me the crap about him just being a champion of civil rights. Republicans don't put hardcore activists from the Right in the WH so as not to over-politicize the place. I don't believe any previous serving Democrat has, either. But they seem to be the only people Obama allows in. This is BS and Jones better start packing. Obama can probably thank him for taking the health care bill with him, too. This is not what that idiot needed right now, either.

Supporters of Mumia Abu-Jamal, a death row inmate convicted for the 1981 shooting death of a Philadelphia police officer, said the protest was called after the Supreme Court on Monday rejected claims that Abu-Jamal, a former radio journalist and Black Panther, did not receive a fair trial.

``We knew there was another event going on, but the timing of the court decision is what dictated when the protest was held,'' said Van Jones, a San Francisco civil rights lawyer who helped coordinate the protest march.
