Just heard on Rush's show from a guy who was right there and actually took the severed finger to the hospital for the victim. The story is wrong. It was the old man who had his finger bitten off by a pro-Obamacare thug.

I've read different accounts. Over at Lucianne.com they are now called Move-On Ogres.

The old guy pinky's re-attachment was paid off by Medicare it turns out. The irony! I guess if the geezer's anti-socialism he should get rid of his pinky.

I live near where this happened and can assure you that Thousand Oaks is a very conservative area. These thugs were "bussed" in and not part of the community. They're sending us all a message.....speak out against Obama, and we'll be in your face!

1) The hospital had no business disclosing what kind of insurance the man had. It's a HIPAA violation, and he should sue.

2) The reports - even from the AstroTurfers - were that the biter crossed the street from the ObamaCare side to wade into the crowd of protesters. If you cross the street to go pick a fight, it's hard to claim the other guy was the aggressive one.

So, is this digital redistribution? (Just asking.)

Sirkowski:

You lefties keep floating this canard. Give it up! In working almost 50 years I've paid a ton of FICA / Medicare tax. I'll be taking MY money back out of the system for many years before I exceed my contribution (if I can avoid the Death Panels that long). The government has no money whatsoever, except what they take at gunpoint from the citizens (and if you think that's hyperbole, try evading taxes and see if your ultimate keepers aren't packing).

My choice would have been to make arrangements other than Social Security and Medicare (which I did anyway), but since no-one had a choice, your criticism of someone following the government mandated path is misplaced.

Did the hospital reveal the insurance or is it just an assumption because the man is 65 years old? Not everyone 65 and over is on Medicare.

This is exactly why anti-Chappaquidicare protesters should not only pack guns to their protests, but should use them on any MoveOn target who starts shit.

"This is exactly why anti-Chappaquidicare protesters should not only pack guns to their protests, but should use them on any MoveOn target who starts shit."

Typical lefty poseur. Scr^w off.

Seems with all this DNA evidence we hear about, couldn't someone get a sample of saliva off the finger and run it thru some criminal base...i mean...aren't these leftist types usually part of the criminal element?? All this talk about anti obamacare folk being extremists and terrorists, seems the ones that are doing these horrific things are the leftists themselves.

Lighten up, folks. That poor Obama supporter probably hadn't eaten in weeks. He's been on the road doing health care promos for the Big O and hasn't been home to get his welfare check and government cheese! ; )

Right... finger food.

Good old Dan. Conservative, Liberal. Doesn't matter. Human suffering is funny no matter how you cut it!

Meanwhile, serious people are having a debate about health care.

Good old IslamoLlama. Liberal, Conservative. Doesn't matter who's hurt. Passing Obama's health-care is the only thing I care about.

"Meanwhile, serious people are having a debate about health care."

So why does your side bite off fingers again? Does that mean you're really really "serious"?

But I thought it was the town hall rednecks who are straight up racists, and borderline nazis that are the violent ones. Why does it seem that almost anytime there's an actual incident of violence at these town halls it's coming from the left side of the aisle?

"Meanwhile, serious people are having a debate about health care."

Yes, and the not-serious people are demanding everyone shut up and swallow whatever Congressional Democrats want to pass.

Don't believe me? Ask the Whole Foods guy -- he tried to add to the debate, and the thugs told him to shut up.

(As for the original subject -- I hope there were plenty of video cameras running. I have no desire to see the footage, but it would allow the police to figure out what actually happened. I hope whoever started it gets the book thrown at them.)

"First I came for the ears, then I came for the fingers, ......pretty soon there was nobody left to speak up!".....Mike Tyson.

"-- Passing Obama's health-care is the only thing I care about. --"

Passing health care legislation (or not) is part of the debate. Yes. You're learning.

"-- So why does your side bite off fingers again? Does that mean you're really really "serious"? --"

That would be Dan's freak show of the day. When discussing premium costs or copay or deductibles or rescission or dealing with the uninsured becomes boring, Dan likes to spice things up. Two guys fighting at a town hall is way more entertaining than 1200 pages of House Bill minutiae.

I do like the way you phrased it "your side", as though there are legions of finger chomping Pac-Man wanna-be Obama supporters devouring the GOP opposition one finger at a time. But it's this kind of nonsense rhetoric - well, this and "Death Panels" and Obama = Hitler and carrying assault rifles to rallies - that makes your side look like a pack of lunatics.

"-- Yes, and the not-serious people are demanding everyone shut up and swallow whatever Congressional Democrats want to pass. --"

That's why the bill has been bottled up in committee for three months.

I mean, I like to give credit where credit is due. Tom DeLay and Bill Frist would have had a health care bill on the Presidents desk inside a week. When it comes to railroading, no one says "Shut the hell up and swallow whatever Congress wants to pass" like the guys that brought us the Bridge To Nowhere or Medicare Plan D.

Still, I'd love to hear your thoughts on a medicare buy-in option. Had the shoe been on the other foot, and the 65 year old been the liberal and the 20 year old been the guy missing a finger, the kid would have been shit out of luck. Reattaching a finger can cost upwards of $50k.

Why not set a premium for Medicare and let anyone purchase into the system. It increases Medicare revenue to cover the shortfall existing in the program, and it offers an affordable public option to people who would be denied insurance in the private sector.

IslamoLlama,

Obviously, someone is paying you by the word! What a load of "deflective" nonsense.

Dealing with the "uninsured" - So many lies in that, so little patience. Firstly, we're not talking about actual catastrophic insurance, we're talking about "maintenance coverage." Radically different issue. Rather like auto insurance that covers oil, tires, alignments, tune-ups, wax, pimp-wheels and fuzzy dice.

Secondly, we're not talking about the "uninsured" are we? - We're talking about full maintenance coverage for millions of people here illegally, who's own socialist governments at home refuse to cover. More, we're asking hard-working honest citizens to give up huge amounts of money to cover lazy assholes such as Llama, who would rather purchase lattes than real insurance.

"An affordable public option!" It presumes that federal regulations and tort defense aren't significant and arte not the real cause of the frigging problem in the first place.

No, libs want full maintenance coverage, all screenings and tests, all meds, and they want SOMEONE ELSE TO PAY. It's not a failure of the capitalist model, it is a plain failure of morals.

I saw the man whose finger was bitten off on Cavuto. The finger was not reattached since human bites contain too much bacteria. They have the biter on video but he ran away and is unknown for now.

"Had the shoe been on the other foot, and the 65 year old been the liberal and the 20 year old been the guy missing a finger, the kid would have been shit out of luck. Reattaching a finger can cost upwards of $50k."

Except that here in the real world, the finger would've been reattached and you (well taxpayers) would have been paying for it anyway together with people who have insurance. There is another lesson here. If you're 20 and without insurance...dont stick your fingers in someone elses mouth.

I do like the medicare buy in idea though....expound.

"No, libs want full maintenance coverage, all screenings and tests, all meds, and they want SOMEONE ELSE TO PAY."

While i have no doubt that's true....ho many of them have read Obie's plan?

I wish people would stop the spreading of the notion that Medicare is socialized medicine and therefore receipients should be for Obama's socialized big agenda for medicine. Medicare is forced upon the participants - Americans have money taken out of their check for it as do employers pay into it -- if they want to not take Medicare they lose their SS check. On top of that Medicare underpays doctors and hospitals which is why private insurance goes up since hospitals then spread the loss to people with private insurance. It is the only way Medicare can survive. It is not working, it is rife with fraud from crooked clinics and the gov't does not vet the claims thereby wasting precious taxpayer dollars. The guy got his finger re-attached because right now there is no universal care - if there was they may say he took a risk going to a protest and they would not provide care - as there would be no private insurance companies stuck with the loss that they pass onto working people and their employers.
You just cannot compare Medicare to full universal coverage and socialized medicine.

There's a reason you don't hear about this kind of crap in TX: Lots of us have CCH and .357 trumps fangs every time.

My pinkie, my pinkie, my kingdom for a pinkie but I guess he has that terrible Medicare a “Single-payer health care insurance” what a hypocrite. Did the little pinkie cry "Wee-wee-wee!" all the way home? It real should have been his right pinky finger that would have been a better story. They are haters not debaters.

Some seniors revert to children, its part of the aging process (I guess he forgot to “Keep your hands to yourself”). In the Neil Cavuto, interview he is a protestor but now they are trying to change the fact and say that he just innocent bystander. He makes two punches and (as usual) tries to shove something down someone’s throat and gets his pinkie bitten off, now they make him into a victim. Now the wingnuts have a new idol to worship, a new hero. Please, snore, snore.

All we have here is one side to the story, like many other immature men he just used physical violence because he was not able to articulate his position or use his brain to avoid one, never had the misfortune to be in a brawl myself, I only pity this man who felt the need to bunch his hand into someone’s mouth, so now all of you can claim he is something of a innocent victim. Walking away takes maturity some men have it others do not. What a pity.

He is trying to expand healthcare to everyone, so we do not have to pay the crazy prices for emergency room care, which all of us pay anyway. I agree with Montana, especially her pointing out that the old guy could have defused and controlled the situation by simply moving away but he seem very happy content with the attention and outcome. Could it be he wanted to be the new idol to be worship, a new hero whose poster will be going up in wingnuts closets around the country? Or it could be he just wanted others to claim he was a victim and be on TV (he was quick to run to “Fake News”).
