Update 2: ALG pushes back, Ed Driscoll is also on it here:
Carter Clews, Director of Communications, Americans for Limited Government
We at Americans for Limited Government are saddened that instead of helping us to get to the bottom of the hateful email that was indeed sent from NBC's server, and this can be verified, and was not tampered with, which can also be verified, that NBC President Steve Capus has instead chosen to circle the wagons and protect what is indefensible with hysterical, frantic accusations.
This email has left a digital footprint that is undeniable. We did our due diligence. We have confirmed that it indeed came from NBC's server and Jane Stone's email address.
As before, we renew our offer that we made to both Ms. Stone and NBC President Capus over the phone today to get to the bottom of who sent this email from Ms. Stone's Blackberry email address. That offer remains open, and we would like it very much if both Ms. Stone and NBC would issue an apology to both Americans for Limited Government, and Mr. Alex Rosenwald, who was the target of this hateful email.
Update: NBC strongly denies the accusation:
NBC News president Steve Capus fired back at Americans for Limited Government after the conservative group published an email allegedly from NBC producer Jane Stone to its director of media outreach Alex Rosenwald, with one line: “Bite me Jew Boy.”
“I’m still in shock, and outraged that this reckless organization would go out with such a defamatory, irresponsible statement,” Capus told POLITICO. “We have done a complete email analysis, all of our IT, all of our records.”
Here's what happened both sides agree on: Stone responded yesterday to a mass email from ALG.
But Stone’s response email—provided to POLITICO—did not have any anti-Semitic comment. In fact, it had just one line: “Take me off this list!” (There are also subtle differences, including number of dashes, between the two emails as well).
“Somebody, on the other end, I’m assuming, took the return stamp from the email and then put in this hateful message,” Capus said. “I don’t know who did it. It’s outrageous to suspect that somebody from NBC News would do it.”
Unless NBC Dateline producer Jane Stone has an explanation as to how her Blackberry was accessed by someone else, or perhaps it's been stolen, I suspect she's going to be out of a job.
Apparently NBC “Dateline” producer Jane Stone or someone else who has access to her Blackberry has a problem with groups that oppose ACORN and with an ethnocultural minority.
When Stone received an email urging Congress to defund ACORN from Alex Rosenwald, director of media outreach for Americans for Limited Government, the following sentence came back to Rosenwald from Stone’s account: “Bite me, Jew Boy!”
Jane Stone has worked over the past 17 years investigating everything from corporate negligence at Fortune 500 companies to bogus retirement homes to the trafficking in endangered species by the country's prestigious zoos. She has investigated dangerous abortion clinics, explored Pat Robertson's religious and political philosophy and profiled a dangerously overcrowded public hospital. The investigations have changed laws, shut down shoddy companies and increased workplace safety standards. They have also helped shed light on important public policy issues.
It's unconfirmed as to whether the Jane Stone at NYU is the same Jane Stone. However, there is a Dateline reference in her bio.
She has won three national Emmys, including one for Outstanding Investigative Journalism, three regional Emmys, an Ohio State Award, A DuPont-Columbia Award, a Peabody, and the Joan Shorenstein Barone Award for Excellence in National Affairs Reporting. She was a producer for 60 Minutes, West 57th, PBS Frontline, Dateline NBC and the CNN Special Assignment Unit. She also helped start Court TV, and in the last few years has developed a strong interest in legal journalism. She was recently awarded the American Bar Association Gavel Award for educating the public about important legal issues. Professor Stone continues to produce stories for Dateline NBC.

Yeah, CBS denied the National Guard documents were faked, too.
The New Republic denied the Beauchamp stories were just made up.
CNN denied there were Democratic plants in the primary debates.
Until they couldn't any longer.
Now NBC is denying that one of its journalists said something inappropriate in an email she figured few people would ever see.

No, I doubt this washes. I'm already seeing some Cons pointing to al old already debunked story claiming the same thing from 2006. Someone seems to be being played, at least for now.

I've pleaded with the people behind the biggovernment.com post(vadum and breitbart) to update their post... thus far they've ignored me... it was incredibly irresponsible the way they've handled this...

I don't know what you are looking at, but they have had TWO updates covering both sides of the story for a while now.

I enjoy watching someone dig a pit.. place punji sticks in their pit.. 'spray' the punji sticks with their own excrement.. and then jump head first into their own stinky punji pit!

This kerfuffle seems to be developing quickly; pardon me, if something new comes up while I write this.
The fact of the matter is that the full email header information has not been revealed by either party. In particular the "Received" info, and the "Message ID" info has not yet been revealed. Generally, this info is made otherwise unavailable for many free accounts like Yahoo or Gmail, but all email has it.
I would like ALG to be correct but the details seem a bit too outlandish. I think someone's being played.

NBC is asking for denunciation only with no physical proof.. Interesting. Where is their lawyers pronouncing big time ACTION? NBC smells fisshy and sounds like they are trying to pretend it didn't happen on their independent employees blackberry.

NYC Liberals are the most powerful, largest and most hateful Anti-Semitic group in America; Berkeley Liberals come second.

Stone is a longtime professor at NYU. She also does projects like Dateline, and I believe I read that she was one of the "founders" of CourtTV.
I'll stick with Andrew Breitbart and Big Hollywood on this. Their track record is very good.
