For the first time in over 5 years I had to close a comment thread as the comments were so ugly. They're deleted now. The post was linked by several lib blogs, so I assumed it was them.
Probably libs, but of the neo-charles johnson variety. Someone just emailed me the link where charles linked it. It's funny, as they were mostly mimicking his comments now that I've read them. Seems his remaining lizards are now bees, just a hive of little drones. Or, maybe they were all him. He certainly doesn't throw traffic anything like he once did. I saw that coming in but never put it together.
What a sad commentary. lgf, ugliest blog on the Internets. As I told the emailer, "Whatever it is, he's now riding in circles in a very, very ugly place, somewhere within a state of misery. Not much to do but pity him and otherwise ignore him, I guess".

Shocked I would say at the turn Charles has made. Almost makes you wounder, alcholo?, brain tumor. Whatever it is, I hope he beats it for his sake.

I agree with you Dan. We have fallen back probably more than 20 years in race relations. Right now the left radicals are trying to drag that dead horse of racism back on to the street and it seems they are successful so far.
They trotted out the white ex-president to make their talking point heard and now the process of manufacturing a crisis has begun. Many (not all) young Black Americans are becoming enraged at the false news reports and internet rumors of racist white America, and are becoming even angrier. I am not making them out to be thugs, but we need to open our eyes here and see where this manufactured rage is coming from. This is reaching a critical status and the blogosphere only wants to beat the messengers for trying to tell everyone on BOTH sides to be careful of the rising war against each other that is inevitable. I don't know how to say it any clearer, but I am sure it will be twisted in some way to call me a racist.
Here is a tidbit that people seem to forget and get wrong continually.
The right wing, republican, conservatives, moderates, whatever you want to call them, have always rejected racism, slavery, and the kkk in all forms. Lincoln was a republican, but most people educated today think otherwise.
The left wing, demos, liberals, progressives have embraced racism in all forms and supported slavery by warring against the republicans back then. The democrat’s leadership had a member of the kkk in their party for the longest time.
Then the Black youth of today are brainwashed into thinking the very people who have helped them are the enemy?? Your enemy is inside your own walls people.
The same enemy that keeps sending you out to get killed for the benefit of the elitists. The same enemy that took over your organizations like acorn and perverted them into corruption and fraud. Then when the light is turned on, the rathke brothers have emptied the acorn bank accounts and disappeared in the night. They walked away and left the poor neighborhoods no better than when they arrived.
All of the good and honest black leadership that helped build acorn for the fat cat rathke brothers are left with nothing to help them defend themselves.
Come on Black America, please see the true face of the liberal radical Democrat party. They are not going to help you no matter how much they promise to do it. It has happened over and over again where they sweep you up and promise to make things soooo much better for your future and then take your money and votes along with those promises, and do nothing.
What is even worse than that, when any kind of heat or light is turned on their corruption, they take the poor Black Americans that helped these organizations become very very rich, and throw you to the wolves like a piece of raw meat. Then they point their fingers at you and blame YOU for the corruption and greed. It is happening right this very second as acorn circles the drain.
Please wake up and help stop the madness. Please, if one person has seen the light, please help wake up your friends and family to stop these domestic terrorists from ruining your lives, again. The radical left doesn’t want you to succeed or have a promising future because if you did, they would loose votes for the other side who wants you to sustain that successful future. They want to keep you in that endless loop of despair and crisis, so they can suck more unsatisfied people into that angry tornado of liberalism.
It only works if you continue to be angry. Once you are satisfied and where you want to be in life, it does not work for the liberal party any more so they will do their best to keep you down. It is not the white conservative male that keeps you down. THAT GUY WANTS YOU TO SUCCEED BECAUSE WHEN YOU SUCCEED, HE SUCCEEDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do not know how to make people see the truth, and it is sad.

I was never much of an LGF reader--too disgusted by the comments section, but people I respected respected Johnson so I figured, ok for him, I guess.
Now I'm hearing about a decaying comment section (you mean it's worse?!?) and the decaying sanity of the blogger. I'm reading post-mortems that I don't undertsand because I haven't been following the story. Does anyone here know of a good round up on the decline and apparent fall of Charles Johnson?

I think Gates of Vienna has one up I linked a few days back.

Charles is being held hostage by Muslim extremists for all the sterling work he did between 2002 and 2007. He is being forced to recant everything he ever expressed or implied in thousands of posts during those years. The terrorists are very, very serious about this. If he doesn't comply, they will destroy his bike.

Mr. Johnson is becoming a caricature of the typical Koz Kid that he was so justifiably fond of mocking back in the day. His descent is truly pitiful and horribly sad. LGF used to be my home page but I've decided I can no longer ignore the uneasy feeling I get when reading his posts. Charles, whatever is going on with you I hope you find some peace and return to the land of the normal soon.

Sorry, lighthouse, but Charles is holding court with his personal Sea Org and can't take your call right now.
I'm disappointed too. I think he's saying a number of things that need to be said about the right, things the right need to address ASAP: the insanity of the birther obsessives, implied threats of violence, careless words that can be taken as (or hell, are) racist, being ill-informed or dishonest about the facts of this or that matter. I'm not saying "play nice" or in any other way to play the sucker through McCainian "bipartisanship" or whatever - I AM saying that we can stand up to and stand firm against a runaway government without descending into tastelessness and stupidity. We just have to be confident, good-willed, well-informed, patient, persuasive, and RIGHT -- and I see the movement as mostly that way already. Distancing the movement from those who distract from the message of small government, fiscal responsibility, free markets, and individual rights is vitally important if the movement is to maintain credibility and its energy.
Johnson's problem is in the single-minded obsession, black-and-white (no pun intended) bad faith, and self-righteous vitriol with which he is doing it. If his goal is truly to goad the right into cleaning up it's act, he's sabotaging himself by being so over the top, and by making his own increasingly irrational behavior the topic of discussion in the blogosphere instead of the problems he may hope to see addressed.

A tangent on my "mostly that way" comment - I've attended nearly all of the local tea parties this year, and noticed a definite difference between the Tax Day rally and last Saturday's. It was a subtle but unmistakeable change in the "feel" of the event. The one on 4-15 was very well behaved - only saw one or two questionable signs in a crowd of about 3k, and they were shunned, while the consistent, repeated message was small government, no more bailouts, fiscal responsibility, no socialism. The slightly smaller 9-12 rally was a little less focused, had a number of arguably tasteless signs, and had a crowd (but not speakers) which seemed a little more...kooky.
We need more 4-15 rallies, and less 9-12 rallies.

I for one never considered myself a birther. Yet, I don't think it's a nonissue either. It's of interest and I think it's a question worth asking. It is the law after all. I always found the fact that they had 2 different versions of the short form to be really weird. If you remember, they withdrew the first one very quickly. But I digress...
I feel compelled to say that right wingers do fall victim to some pretty stupid things. For instance the whole "obama is the antichrist" thing. I think that stuff like that just goes over the edge and dumbs everything down and makes people with valid points look bad.
There were so many ordinary bad points back during the campaign, calling Obama the antichrist just seems to water down what the rest of us had to say. Most of which the rest of the United States is finding out to be more and more true on a daily basis these days, so long as they don't get their news from CNN,ABC,NBC,CBS or the NYT...ect.

Was one of the nasty posters named "Kilgore Trout"? He went on to hit hotair with sick comments because he didn't like they way moderation worked over there. I hope they're done soiling other people's blogs.

This is so stupid I assume it's a joke. You do understand that Lincoln's goddamn party affiliation is irrelevant given the GOP's ideological realignment of recent decades, right? Have you ever read even a single sentence of the history of the black civil rights movement?
Please, please, you're embarrassing yourself. In good company for it, yes, but still. Please. Stop.
