LONDON, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Three British Muslims were jailed for at least 108 years on Monday for plotting to kill thousands by blowing up transatlantic airliners bound for North America using bombs made from liquid explosives.
The suspected al Qaeda suicide plot, just days from being put into operation according to British detectives, had huge worldwide ramifications leading to tight restrictions on the amount of liquids passengers could take on board aircraft.
Under British law, the men can be considered for parole after the end of their minimum terms, but cannot be parolled before then.
Yeah, let's just hope that Gordon Brown is not working on any commercial deals with Saudi Arabia in the near future. Who knows? They may all come down with a sudden case of prostate cancer.
