The Afghan war was lost on November 4 when Obama was elected. We are now seeing that it was only platitudes. His gutting of DoD, his war with the intelligence community, and now his comments, those of Pelosi, and Reid are evidence enough of who these people really are. LUN.

So, the DOD budget doubles over the last ten years, Obama gives only a four percent increase this year...that's "Gutting"? Really? Really really?? Can I have that gutting for my salary in the next ten years, please?

The nation will live to regret punting on the F-22.

A classic, really: There have been many campaign promises "adjusted" since the election.

Just wait till we see the "had" or "******" - then it gets real funny.

Xiaoiding: That's how the D's define "gutting" when it was suggested by R's that instead of X (medicare/SS/pick a gov't program) percent increase, we would increase it buy not as much.

That's called "gutting" by the state public employee unions in Cali, when asked to receive a 2% raies instead of 2.5% raises.

So if we're stuck on the definition of "gutting" let's not forget where the definition came abut the most.

Dan is 100% Correct. Reminds me of John Kerry voting against the Gulf War in 1991 when we knew for a fact Saddam had WMD and we had a massive Coalition. Then he voted FOR the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The difference? He was running for President in 2004.

With Hillary as SoS are any of you REALLY surprised at this turn of events? Remember it was slick willy who believed in cruise missle diplomacy over boots on the ground.Same gang with different names is all this is.
BTW Dan, Your wearing me out with all these posts on so many threads but its a good tired.

One question - do we have an exit strategy? Remember that exit strategy thing that was used to beat Bush over the head with? If we do, it must not include any addittional troops, otherwise there would not be a request for 40-60K more, that could means that things are not going the way Obama willed them to go, you can't just say the debate is over and the enemy say okay we give up. What this country needs to decide is a)if Obama is not going to do what it takes to win - pull the troops out tomorrow, or b)if he is willing to do what is necessary to win -support him. In the end its not us sitting at home or Obama taking fire in a defensive fighting position or while on patrol, its our men and women who volunteered to fight thinking that the adults back in the USA are doing the correct thing and not playing politics with their lives. Obama "owns" this is crap - the soldiers over in Afghan dying own this b/c they paid for it with blood. He needs to cowboy up, grab his balls and make an executive decision, and whatever that decision is, if its not win no matter what, then get ALL the troops home ASAP.
