Update: How saaweet it is ....
Translation: How dare they use my actual words and video of me to suggest I ever said, or did those things. Everyone knows those are lies, my lips were moving!
Hit the road, clown. And stop pretending it wouldn't go down the same way if the parties were reversed. Another professional victim is made.
He'll be just fine, enjoying six figure gigs at the taxpayer's expense as long as he wants. Who is he trying to kid? Loser. He should of kept his yap shut when he was younger if he wanted to drive in the fast lane one day. Actions have consequences. Welcome to the real world, Van.
"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones, special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, said in a statement announcing his resignation just after midnight Saturday. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."
He continued: "I have been inundated with calls -- from across the political spectrum -- urging me to 'stay and fight.' But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future."

"I have been inundated with calls -- from across the political spectrum..."
Yes - from across the political spectrum of the left, the further left, and the ultra-hardcore left...and probably some of his overseas sympathizers like Castro, Chavez, Ahmedinejad, Kim Jong-Il, etc.

*cue rude laughter* HAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Gotta love it. They released this in the middle of the frigging NIGHT in hopes of keepin' if off the front pages for one more day.
What is it they'd been sayin' on Malkin's site? "The wheels on the bus go *thump thump thump*!"
Couldn't have happened to a better feller if you ask me. I'm bummed, though. I figured they'd dump it somewhere Monday when folks were too busy tryin' to get back home from their holiday/visits/barbecues/etc. to notice much. Ah well, he's gone. That's the most important thing.
Don't let the door hit ya in the arse on the way out, Van, old chum!

"But I came here to fight for others, not for myself."
I wish he had stayed and fought. It would have been yet another opportunity to ask my rabidly pro-Obama friend how the hopey-changey thing is working out.

Gee, I can understand why he is angry.
The man worked hard, went to Yale, and spent 20 years learning how to crap on his country.
Then Jackpot! A job in the White House, around $150,000 per with all expenses, and a thousand ways to graft. And he can put all those years of preparation into effect.
He has the power to hammer and there will be none of that goddamn talking back now.
Then it happens. Evil people play his records and speeches and read his words and say he is not a good man. Ignorant, selfish, racists, every damn one of them!
One day you are on top, the next you are roadkill.
Has Obama given him the Medal Of Freedom yet? And that Senate seat in Illinois opens up in 2010.

As he goes under the bus, he becomes "King of the Road", at least until the next sub-bus toss.

Never mind that the news release of this was in the lo-dark hours of a 3 day weekend originally designed by LABOR UNIONS, Never mind that it was not on a typical Friday news dump after 5:00.
What is MOST telling about the timing of this resignation release is that it won't see front page ink in national papers. Imaging the Sunday Editionof WaPo or NYT: OBAMA CZAR THROWS SELF UNDER BUS. A headline that could live for forever. No, no ink whatsoever. Sunday papers were already printed and in the distribution network. None print EXTRAs anymore. Labor day papers are nothing but pre-printed fluff, just waiting for the overtime paid pressmen to run on Sunday night, and Tuesday papers won't be much better.
This story is INTERNET and TeleProMpter (see: TOTUS) based only.

Washington Post did have a story. They have an online version that is more up to date than the print version.
I saw the resignation before I went to bed last night. I found it amusing that they announced after midnight.
The fact is was a truther was the final straw as Charles K had said. That was unacceptable.
The problem with a lot of lefty liberals is that they trash the White their own words hurt them.
No President of any persuasion unless he is going for an armed civil war can say that the US government conspired to kill 3000 Americans and take down the Towers.
The avowed communist and arrest may not have forced his ouster, btthe 9/11 truther did.
Obama knew what Van Jones was since it is the same that Obama is except Obama was smart enough not to be vocal about his anti american activities when he was younger.
Obama is a closet communist, That was revealed clearly eith the response to Joe the Plumber question. He is a black racist as shown by 20 years with Rev. Wright.
Regrettably the voters was not ready to beleive that Obama is what he is.. I have heard many conservatives give him the bebefit of the doubt. I guess it was not ahappy though to believe that a voted President would want to destroy the values of America, the economy, the capitalist system and our foreign dominance.
I recognize Chavez before he was elected as the dangerous Castro like person he is. Obama inclines in that direction but America is not as easily seduced into communism.
Our system has been corrupted but still provides enough checks to prevent a Chavez type takeover. It has to be done more subtly and Obama has not the patience or the humilty to go slow.
His arrogance will be his failing, that was telegraphed in the campaign.

Van: "Don't they know I'm black??!! I'm a black man in America! I went to Harvard. I mean, what's up with these ridiculous white folk, holding me to the same standards they hold white people. Who do they think they are?! I won't stand for that. I'm black. Black people aren't down for that. Sheesh, if that's gonna be the way it works from now on, I might actually have to make an argument that makes sense. I might actually have to provide evidence, not just jive-talkin' bluster. Oh, Hell No."

Jones was the keystone.
The question is, can the administration bridge the gap in the structure quickly enough to prevent the entire arch from collapsing?
There are other radical, disturbingly out of the norm people in the White House, not including Obie and his wife.
Sunstein, Holdren, Emanuel, Lloyd, and Jarrett are the top of the short list.

The resignation statement, like the non-apology are simply forms pulled from PR for Dummies. The words themselves have no semantic weight, they are merely incantations. Jones, in his farewell, calls his critics liars. Ooops. This means it ain't over. Jones is not going to skulk off to Aruba. Nay. He will repeat his accusation and functionally demand someone say, "Um, what lies are those?" And there have been no lies. There has been merely a distribution of his previously obscure actions, statements and associations. They have brought a serpent into their living room with this guy and of course he is not alone. Substantively, why would, say, Bill Ayers be a worse addition to the WH staff than this Commie nutter? We were told that Barack's record of political and personal association with America hating loons were of no moment. This is a rational, centrist guy, just tactically he would never be so foolish as to pollute his admin thusly. Oh, Mary.

I can't believe he resigned. No body is perfect but you have to have a real tough skin to be in politics.

"vicious smear campaign against me,"
It's not vicious or a smear, it was all true. Nobody made up a single thing, and I'm glad that he's been pushed out in the way that he has.
The old media must be shitting it's pants right now.
