Michelle Malkin points to the teary-eyed presentation Michelle Obama is preparing to export abroad in hopes of bringing the Olympics back home to Chicago. Interesting, and just when their bid seemed to be headed South. I wonder how South America will feel about getting screwed over by the world's new dear leader, combined with the usual arm-twisting done Daley's style.
Just how many corrupt Chicago real estate hacks are going to make money on the peoples backs given what Daley recently did to make it all possible? Watch this story, as there's going to be more corruption than you can shake a light saber at. Remembering who brought it all about is just another scandal in waiting for the Obama White House. Given this extremely strong move, by the time Obama's term is up, corruption may qualify as the newest Olympic Sport.
Then last week the Chicago City council under the watchful eye of longserving Mayor Richard M. Daley agreed to underwrite any financial fallout from the Games should there be any cost overruns - a unanimous 49-0 vote - leaving Daley free to sign the obligatory 'Host City Agreement'.
The icing on the cake came on Tuesday when President Barack Obama hosted a reception for the Olympics, Paralympics and youth sport at The White House and declared in no uncertain terms his unqualified support for the city - where he was resident for nearly 25 years - to win the vote in Copenhagen on October 2.
"Chicago is ready. The American people are ready. We want these Games," opined Obama, who will not be present in Copenhagen but his wife Michelle will be to lobby IOC members.
All this has according to AFP's source led to a significant turnaround in how the bid is perceived and the all-important sense of momentum with just two weeks to go to the vote by the 100-plus IOC members.
"I am not one for citing American Football normally, especially as it is not an Olympic sport!" the source said.
"However, I see this Chicago bid team as displaying the same type of spirit and camaraderie as the Chicago Bears team that won the 1985 Super Bowl.

Cripes, with all that lead in, you'd think they could come up with something better than a 25 year old football game. Roughly 99% of that article's readers couldn't tell you the first thing about the 1985 Chicago Bears.

To save money, maybe Obama can borrow China's 2008 Olympics 'fake facade' set design to help him hide impoverished Grove Parc Plaza, Chicago, Illinois?

Holy crap! Just what Chicago and the rest of the US needs, another rat hole to pour money into.
Wonder how ACORN members will look to the rest of the outside world?

How is Michelle Obama going to invoke the tears of the Olympic Committee? Telling the story of a young girl who wanted to be known as "the smart one" and who could never be in the Olympics because there are no affirmative-action athletic events?
At least the BO-MO team are consistent -- hit them in the emotions!

Team Obama is no doubt thinking that they're going to win re-election in 2012, and having the Olympics in Barack's hometown as he completes his second term in 2016 would be the crowning moment of his presidency...
...plus all those real estate deals and concession and construction awards locally that will line a lot of Chicago pockets. My guess is however much of the unspent stimulus money it takes to "woo" the International Olympic Committee, the administration will do it for Mayor Daley and themselves.

They didn't give the US the 2008 Games (which would have been the normal spot in the US - Europe - somewhere else rotation they normally do) or the 2012 Games to spite Bush, but if they went yet another cycle without a US location for the Summer Games, NBC would get angry, and they couldn't deal with that (NBC's broadcast rights fees are the primary source of funding for the Games). You can actually make a profit on the Games in the US, you can't elsewhere, and the IOC does know this.

Last week everyone was racist. This week they're going to play on the emotions of female voters by becoming all "misty". I anticipate that next week the world will end unless we pass Obamacare. They still think the taxpayers are just a bunch of stupid lemmings that can be fooled by their calculated antics. Guess again.
