It's becoming increasingly difficult to understand just what is the Left's confusion as regards Sarah Palin. From one day to the next, they're tossing around polls telling everyone how unpopular she is, then the next day a large labor group is advertising against her specifically via Facebook.
Get it together, folks. She's making all of you look a tad confused. heh!
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin set off a frenzied debate about health care reform when she accused President Obama of planning to establish "death panels" via health care reform. Now, proponents of the president's health care agenda are taking to Palin's preferred medium to attack her claims, with a Facebook ad asking Palin to "stop lying."
The labor-affiliated group Americans United For Change is running the Facebook ad directly targeted at the more than 800,000 listed "supporters" of Palin on Facebook, according to Greg Sargent of the Washington Post blog the Plum Line.

Cthulhu has a lot of tentacles with minds of their own.
They do not necessarily coordinate well.

"From one day to the next, they're tossing around polls telling everyone how unpopular she is,"
Why Dan Riehl repeats this talking point about Sarah's "popularity", I don't get it.
The left went after Rush Limbaugh, even calling him leader of GOP.
Why do you think they did, because he is popular?
Sarah Palin has become a target for exact;y the same reason. The left is not foolish to attack her, if she is popular, especially if it is so among the democrats, moderates and independents.

Your laughable spin, again.

I do hope the Left continues to viciously attack Sarah Palin since this will be a visible reminder of just how vicious is the Left to the majority of Americans who themselves are being viciously attacked by the White House, by the Democrat-controlled Congress and the Democrat's State-run media.
I. Am. Sarah. Go ahead pyous, make my day.

"with a Facebook ad asking Palin to "stop lying." "
What did she lie about? Did they read her statement?
The thing that the left can't admit to is that they simply don't want her to go away, no matter how much they claim to. To all of those who obsess, the meme is that she's dumb. So they like to obsess over her because it's easy for them to make generalizations about the people who have rational views of her, and for some reason that comforts them. I think that she's capable of making sense, does that make me a loon? I think that they over estimate how important she really is. The people that she's most important to are the ones who hate her, and obsess over Trig, aka wack jobs.
To the rest of us she's a competent public servant who made a failed attempt at the VP. She's said things like the "death panel" remark that make sense, if you actually read what it really said.
This campaign on Facebook isn't meant to get her to stop, because there's no reason for her to do so, and it's obvious that she won't. The Facebook ad is simply there for the left to rally it's self, which in this case seems like more masturbation.
What ever happened to yes we can? Go...do. Instead of telling her to shut up, explain why exactly you think she's incorrect, and let the people decide.

Is Rush Limbaugh irrelevant? Is Glenn Beck irrelevant? Is Michael Jackson irrelevant? Is ACORN irrelevant?
Is Obama irrelevant?
To use Riehl logic, if Obama is so unpopular as the right says tossing polls day after day, why are they attacking him day and night? Why is the right so confused? (Obama is in office, Palin isn't: I know.) Better would be Pelosi and Ried are so unpopular, why are they attacking them? Better still, if Jesse Griffin and Audrey are so irrelavat, why are some high trafficked right wing bloggers attacking them? LOL indeed.

The Left may just convince the GOP they can endure a freebie.

Here's some sane talk: Palin is unpopular but is relevant.
Please do not insult your readers' intelligence by drawing a false line between popularity and irrelevancy. You can be unpopular and still be relevant. This point is quite relevant in case of Sarah Palin and her current political influence.

Change "Palin" to "Riehl", you may have a point.

The official story about Trig's birth and who gave birth to him doesn't make sense to those of us who have looked at all the photographs of Sarah Palin during the period she says she was pregnant and/or have considered other facts like how she was able to fly so much in her last trimester or how her staff was reportedly shocked at the news she was pregnant.
I'm sure that at one point we'll see who is correct, the "truthers" or those who insist that Trig is Sarah Palin's biological child. Both sides cannot be correct. Either Sarah Palin is Trig's biological mother or she is not. No one here has enough information to settle the issue.
How the story ends doesn't matter so much because McCain and Palin lost the election.

Sarah Palin IS Relevant!
Sarah Palin IS Popular! [But liberals keep telling me that Obama is *less unpopular* than Palin. So applying Riehl Time-Space Logic: If Sarah Palin is Popular, Obama must be More Popular!]
Liberals ARE Confused!
This is great newz for McCain.

I think the extent to which the left will spend time and money on bashing an "irrelevant" person is rather comical. Apparently she isn't all that "irrelevant" else they wouldn't spend so much energy attempting to slime her.
Palin is certainly energizing a sector of the electorate that needed leadership. If nothing else, she can rally a lot of people to go to the polls in next year's election. You have to wonder how much cash they will spend on running down someone who isn't even a candidate for office.

Amazing that anytime there is a post on a conservative site with "Palin" in the title the Astroturfers show up in force with their cute little "Birther" stories our their "Quitta from Wisilla" lines or of course their favorite "Teabaggers" comments thrown in for good measure.

Darth - I made my point. Read it again. It's there, really. And nope, it doesn't suck to be me.
What's with all the hostility? "Pissants", "heads up asses", etc... ??? *My* "little jugears"??? I don't have a jugears. You must mean President Obama -- his ears do stick out a little - I'll give you that.
You don't even know me and I am posting civilly. Why can't you do that too? Is civility not one of your values? Do you not respect the office of the President of the United States, even if you don't support the incumbent's policies or like him personally?
I think the right side of our political spectrum is in a sad state of affairs because of people just like you, which is unfortunate for the country because we all are better off with a strong opposition. Don't you love the U.S., Darth? Resorting to insults is weak and lame. Do you have any actual reply to my comment? If not, then STFU.

Was in a "discussion" with two libs over the weekend. Lib #1 ask for links to my points, so I dug some up and provided them. She responded with "I'm too busy to read them" then followed it up with "Your link to Rush Limbaugh is an Appeal to Authority. I deny his Authority". All I posted was Rush playing OBAMA's OWN WORDS and showing where he'd already lied.
Lib #2 said that Rush (and other "entertainers" could be trusted because they "take words out of Context. Context is a very big problem." I happily asked for just ONE example. Lib #2 responded with "Just one example doesn't necessarily make someone's work untrustworthy." Whatthehell? So, using logic, either Rush is untrustworthy because he takes everything out of context (examples should be plentiful then) or some of what he's saying IS trustworthy, but only occasionally are comments taken out of context. Which is it?
I have concluded from this discussing that (A) Liberals don't want to know the truth and (B) are incapable of seeing the truth even when presented to them. This leads them to make less-than-intelligent decisions regarding public figures like Sarah Palin. One day she's Lib Enemy #1, the next she's an "insignificant hockey mom from Alaska". Decide to hate her or decide to ignore her, but dammit, won't you all make up your minds and simply decide? LOL

Actually, Sarah, you're not acting civilly. You're promoting a bat-shit insane theory that exists solely to slander someone. You're like the tinfoil-hat-wearing lunatic who will -- quite calmly -- explain how the aliens from Uranus are beaming commands into everyone's minds: the calm doesn't make the message or its underlying "thought" processes any less insane.
Honestly, I hope all the "Trig Truthers" get together to compare notes someday and the sewer they meet in floods.
Posted by: Rob Crawford | Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 12:56 PM
rotarymunkey -- Neither of those "libs" (fascists, actually), had the least interest in assessing the truth of the information you provided them. They were flailing around looking for any reason to wall that information off.

Rob,
Exactly what about the truther theory is "bat-shit insane"? You can say that all you want and in as many disgusting ways as you want -- and it doesn't make your words true. Seriously, let's discuss the merits instead of trying to insult each other.
Plus I haven't come out on either side. I don't claim to know the answer. You do seem to know what the truth is, so please, tell me. What makes you believe that Trig is Sarah's biological child?
Posted by: Sarah | Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 01:05 PM
Does your ass hurt sitting on the fence of not having a position Sarah?
If you beleive something have the courage to at least stand up for it.If not then I suggest you take your own advice and STFU.
'Said with kindness and a soft spot for contrarians everywhere.'

Sarah please! If Trig is not Sarah's child then whose child is he? Are you saying she stole a child or illegally adopted a child to make some point? We've seen her grandchild so we know Trig isn't her daughter's so, again, whose child do you think he is? I am not going to use profanity but you are deliberately bringing this up knowing it is a lie because you don't have anything to say about Sarah Palin that makes sense and agrees with your viewpoint. Maybe you need a new viewpoint?
Posted by: Captain Blasto | Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 01:48 PM
Thanks for the friendly post, RichK. :-) I am definitely a contrarian - my parents will back me up.
Why does everything have to be in black & white? Isn't it ok to say "I don't know what the truth is."?
I only say that I have **doubts** that Sarah Palin gave birth to Trig - based on evidence, not my opinion of Sarah Palin. But I don't know for sure and I haven't claimed to know for sure.
And Capt. Blasto, just because I have doubts that Sarah Palin gave birth to Trig, that doesn't oblige me to offer suggestions as to who did. I don't know for sure who gave birth to him and neither do you. I just doubt it was Sarah Palin. That's all.
It's still an open question as far as I'm concerned. The truth will come out eventually. None of us knows for sure.
Posted by: Sarah | Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 02:17 PM
"What makes you believe that Trig is Sarah's biological child?"
1) She says so. Other people say so. The date of birth for Trig and Tripp back up what they say. The biology backs up what they say. There's no motive for the Palins to lie, and if they are lying, there's massive motive for someone around them to break silence.
(Corollary: Future gay porn star "Ricky Hollywood" or whatever his name is has not made any claim in support of Trig Trutherism. His silence on the matter, when he could profit both financially AND in terms of revenge, is telling.)
2) The people who say otherwise use the same "reasoning" used by conspiracy theory nut jobs. They're bat-shit insane. Whether their motives are their politics, paranoia, or just trying to get attention, their reasoning is non-existent and their "evidence" consists of their refusal to accept contrary evidence.
Mostly, I'm sick of the tolerance we show the openly insane in political discourse. Whether it's "9/11 Truthers" or "Birthers" or "Trig Truthers" or "Clinton Death Lists" or any of dozens of other conspiracy theories and mouth-breathing lunacy, I'm sick of it.
I'm glad to see Dan and Stacy exposing the lunatics pushing this crap. The lunatics have gotten away with their anonymous slanders for far too long -- turn over the rocks!

"Plus I haven't come out on either side. I don't claim to know the answer."
Wrong.
Quote from above:
"The official story about Trig's birth and who gave birth to him doesn't make sense to those of us who have looked at all the photographs of Sarah Palin during the period she says she was pregnant and/or have considered other facts like how she was able to fly so much in her last trimester or how her staff was reportedly shocked at the news she was pregnant."
You've made it clear that you believe Trig is not Sarah Palin's child. You simply, like most liberals, have no principles or values, including standing up for and defending that which you are spouting.
What makes it particularly funny is how quickly you'll backpedal and change the rules when asked to defend your Obamamessiah. Obama claims he was born in Hawaii; Sarah Palin states that Trig is her child. You insist that any attempt to verify the former is insane, but that questioning the latter is completely rational. You simply are trying to smear Sarah Palin and tell lies about her.
Posted by: North Dallas Thirty | Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 02:26 PM
"And Capt. Blasto, just because I have doubts that Sarah Palin gave birth to Trig, that doesn't oblige me to offer suggestions as to who did."
Yes, it does. Failing to do so makes you look like a moronic jacka...
Oh, wait. I forgot. I'm talking to someone who doubts someone's claim to have given birth... Never mind.
Posted by: Rob Crawford | Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 02:29 PM
Saying that the facts available to the public don't "make much sense" is not the same as taking a position that she definitely IS or IS NOT Trig's mother. I'm not willing to call it and I would be perfectly willing to believe that Sarah Palin gave birth to Trig if the story and the available evidence made more sense. More info is needed. I would be happy if the question were settled - EITHER WAY, which it is not. I don't have a stake in the answer. I won't be elated or crushed or have much of an emotional reaction at all, WHATEVER the truth turns out to be. To me it's an interesting question. That's all.
Exactly what lies have I told about Sarah Palin?
How have I "slandered" her? It would really be libel, by the way, because it is in writing. Slander means spoken. Libel means in writing.
Posted by: Sarah | Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 02:37 PM
Rob, people lie about births all the time, especially if the truth is not good for one's image -- and the lie is. Do you believe everything you're told? People who do believe everything they're told are the morons, not those who ask questions when things don't add up.
Posted by: Sarah | Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 02:45 PM
Sarah -
Most importantly, why do you care?
Are you personally invested in some part of this, it's it somehow important or necessary for you to know once and for all for yourself? Palin isn't in or running for office, and I'm guessing you don't even live in Alaska. Do any of your neighbors have kids that they 'claim' to actually be their children? Maybe make a list of everyone you know who has a kid, then spend a little time thinking about them...and how do you really know these are their biological children....hmmmm....a mystery isn't it? As you note, "people lie about births all the time". ALL the time.
Now get to work...

Hmmmm
Before Palin esssentially destroyed healthcare reform and very badly damaged both Obama and the Democratic party with a single posting on Facebook my opinion of Facebook was that it's a pretty useless piece of technology. After all a message in a major newspaper, blog or tv news show is the expected vehicle for something as dramatic as this.
But now I'm wondering what kind of impact Palin could accomplish with other mediums. At this point I wonder if Palin could take down the DNC by writing something on a woman's bathroom stall.

Not to stupid-assed libtards, no.
Next question?
"Do you not respect the office of the President of the United States, even if you don't support the incumbent's policies or like him personally?"
I respect the office just fine. I have every bit as much respect for the in-over-his-head buffoon usurping the office as I do for you - i.e, zero.
"I think the right side of our political spectrum is in a sad state of affairs because of people just like you, which is unfortunate for the country because we all are better off with a strong opposition."
