These folks always buy in to the publisher's hype because they want their book to sell big. But then they almost always try and walk it back a bit so as not to burn their reputations to the ground. Typical political hack. And his core business is cashing in on his government service, as well.
WASHINGTON — Former Homeland Security secretary Tom Ridge, speaking for the first time about accusations made in his new book, says he did not mean to suggest that other top Bush administration officials were playing politics with the nation's security before the 2004 presidential election.
"I'm not second-guessing my colleagues," Ridge said in an interview about The Test of Our Times, which comes out Tuesday and recounts his experiences as head of the nation's homeland security efforts in the first several years after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Do you remember when all the smart republicans on MSNBC AND CNN said Ridge was the future of Republicans if we wanted to survive?
Ha!

I guess the newest new word is now hagiography over at HA, no doubt it will be as overused as obligatory was. As obama's over dependancy on "notion" ya know
it such a homey/fuzzy/warmy euphamism instead of we are going to ram this down your rear.
SIGH..........

The Rockefeller wing of the GOP got it's ass handed to it in the last election. Ridge's book was supposed to be a reputation-saver for the moderates after 2008. Epic fail.
I have never gotten the appeal of Tom Ridge the politician. Every centrist Republican thought the guy was the party's savior, but to me he's dull as dishwater and just as substantive.

Awww.. isn't that sweeeeeet? Tom Ridge showed his widdle RINO horn and got it lopped off by that inconvenient weapon on the right, the truth aka the facts.
Remember when hippies said never trust anyone over 30? I guess now we gotta say "Never trust a RINO or a leftie." At the very least when either speaks, you're going to have to spend several days checking the facts before you even respond. Otherwise you waste a bunch of energy proving the idiots wrong that could be spent pointing out other idiotic actions by the same bunch.
I figured he was blowin' smoke, but really didn't give a damn enough to check it out. Besides, we've got folks like you and McCain to check stuff out for us. And believe me, my Parkinson's twitchy self is VERY grateful

So we can expect Bill Maher and CNN who ran with this so called proof that Bush politicized the terror warnings to retract their declared statements in 5,4,3,....oh wait, never. It's now a declared fact to either continue to be brought up for people who have yet to be enlightened or yet one more statement of blood libel to be swept under the rug and never addressed because to do so would mean people like Maher would then have to answer to the blood libel charge.
Can I wish cancellation on Bills show? Not outright death but at least cancellation. Is that too much? And there;s still hope for him and his career. I'm sure he can parlay his fame into a new gig as the obnoxious regular who has sex with all the whores in the next season of Cathouse.
