Olbermann as a Fantasy Island within the Sea of Confusion that is MSNBC?
When even people at the LA Times, let alone just people in LA, think you're a jackass, despite being a card carrying uber-liberal, chances are you're a jackass. How long before Olbermann declares war on the copy guy at the LA Times who probably did this?
TV listings: The Prime-Time TV grid in Thursday’s Calendar section mistakenly listed MTV’s “Jackass” show on the MSNBC cable schedule at 7 and 10 p.m. where instead MSNBC’s “Countdown With Keith Olbermann” should have been listed.

Ouch!!
Keith Olberfuehrer is the king of the spittle flecked diatribe!!!!
A loser on a loser network watched by losers!!!!

Keith Olbermann, sorriest peroson in the world, is lower than whale
s--t. He knows it and the public knows it. I look forward to the day this real jackass is fired by MSNBC amd better yet for MSNBC to go off the screen for good. This would be a real countdown to see him go.

I detest Olbermann and Moe Lane equally. Both are extremist wackos.

Did he skip out on a school reunion maybe? Perhaps alumni are reminding him of his 'plastic ivy' as so aptly described by Ann Coulter?

Could not a jackass be a former roommate or lab partner at Cornell University College of Agriculture & Life Sciences (CALS)? Dare I say it (only asking questions really - JRG-AK style)? Is this animal reaching out from past experiences? Could this be an elaborate ruse to flush out Olbermann to serve a summons? The varnish is so terribly thick on his diploma one may never know.

In fact, this reminds me of Charlie Gibson telling Cindy Sheehan she may have lettered in big tent astroturf but move along as those who invented it are in the White House now.

he's no more an ass than beck, limbaugh, dobbs, et al...

Keith Olbermann rocks, maybe he is as far left as the right-wing talk show hosts are right but in so being he provides a much needed counterweight to balance the collective political dialogue. Maybe he makes Amy Goodman look like a moderate but he provides brilliant, entertaining but intellectual pieces in the form of his "Special Comments" that are always right on point, and even through his sometimes ostentatious grasp of the English language I believe anyone who really watched these with an open mind would be able to follow his logic & see the intelligence & reason behind it.
Besides without Keith Olbermann, we wouldn't have The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC - and she has created a whole new niche for opinionated female journalists, proving that you don't have to be cookie-cutter talking bobble head to be a woman and be successful in news media. Without Rachel I wouldn't know who Ana Marie Cox was & without Ana Marie Cox I wouldn't have found this article, so... I guess the haters will go on hating but without the "jackass" you all so love to loathe, this reader wouldn't be aware any of you exist.

BRAVO to the previous two comments. I LOVE Keith Olbermann! He tells it like it T-I-is! Wish I could be that vocally forthright while appearing on a national forum.
And without Keth as a lead-in, I might not have discovered Rachel Maddow's show. Of course, I was familiar with her from Air America. Rachel does her homework, too! My only dilemma (or dilemna, whichever you prefer)is how to toggle between Jon Stewart's Daily Show & Rachel's show. Sorry, no Tivo here.

Keith Olbermann is fantastic. He speaks truth to power and calls 'em as he and many of us out here see 'em.

Ditto Chelsea, regarding Goodman, Maddow and Cox, especially paragraph 2, with the following: these days we see so little of educated rhetorical modes that the art of rant's best example is Mr. Olbermann. Actually, I don't think he's left enough to balance the extremism. Hoping his popularity and enthusiasm opens more doors.

Thanks for rooting out the haters of liberal media. Now we can track them for internment at the reducation camps. The camps are real if you're one of these whack jobs.

Keith has his moments, when he gets a bit too irate, but , he is therapeutic for the rest of us, since he gets our rage out into the open, and he at least has real facts on his side. Between Rachel, our Digger Into the Truth, and Keith, the One Who Shouts it to the rooftops, there is some protection from bald-faced mean-spirited lying. I am thankful for the balance it provides those of us who still believe there are some decent, honorable people in this world who are not just here to GET THEIRS.

Anyone who thinks Olbermann is a whacko should be put in a home for folks with mental problems. Your version of reality is not only false but extremely scary to a rational person.

Keith is harmless. Leave him alone.

His whole audience showed here. Amazing.

Many applause to Chelsea's comment. It's because of Olbermann that I started watching Rachel Maddow and learned of Ana Marie Cox as well. (I also had to get a subscription for Playboy since she now writes for Playboy.) ;)
Those who want to remain in the dark, just keep on watching "Faux News". If you want truth to power, watch Olbermann, Maddow and Ed Schultz.
Peace.
