Drat! Dominick Dunne died today. And so ends the life of the perfect narrator for the real story of Teddy K.
Hyannis Port, by the sea, a place where the wealthy Kennedy clan lived out its fabulous day. But some say there was a darker, far more sinister tale to be told along the sound known as Nantucket. The Kennedy compound wasn't known by the locals for only the dashing Kennedy boys. Oh, no. Or, so the stories go.
And so, one warm summer night, July, 1969, ... there was a girl. Her name was Mary Jo ....
NEW YORK — Best-selling author and journalist Dominick Dunne has died. He was 83.
His son, actor-director Griffin Dunne, said that Dunne had been battling bladder cancer for some time. He died Wednesday at his home in Manhattan.
Dominick Dunne didn't let his cancer stop him from working. In September, against his doctor's orders and his family's wishes, he flew to Las Vegas to attend O.J. Simpson's kidnap-robbery trial — a postscript to his coverage of Simpson's 1995 murder trial that spiked Dunne's fame.

Dunne. contributed more to American culture than kennedy ever could. Was it Dunne that wrote on the Martha Moxley murder by one of the kennedy relatives? Doesn't THAT run in the family. If the kennedys weren't in massachusetts politics they'd be in Massachusetts prison facilities.

Dan; Good show today man. It was fun watching the tolerant, compassionent and FORGIVING moonbats swoop in to remind everyone of their intellectual superiority. I swear one calling herself Giselle was channeling Garofolo all we need is swirly haired Willie Marred and we will have a grand old time.
Got to go move more money offshore

Calypso Jones, you're thinking of Dunne's "A Season in Purgatory." Excellent read, and a scathing, veiled account of Michael Skakel's crime and how the Kennedy clan protected him.
I religiously read Dunne's accounts of the OJ trial, and then I read his book "Another City, Not My Own." Dunne I'll miss; Kennedy I won't.

I enjoyed Dunne, used to watch his show "Power, Privilege and Justice". His theory of the Shandra Levy murder was a little bizarre though.

Dunne was the only reason I'd periodically buy a Vanity Fair magazine. RIP

"--- It would have been great if Ronald Reagan lived longer to die today.
At least your hate-fest would have been in control in the fear of being paid back in 'equal' amounts of stink. ---"
Indeed?
But Reagan didn't let the body of his one-time lover sink below cold waves of water whilst sipping scotch some distance away.
Nor did he work tirelessly to promote socialism and to chip away at Constitutional freedoms a little at a time with each waking breath.
Nor did he come from a family that was in bed with the Hitlerites when it seemed like a good thing.
Nor was the Great Gipper a drunkard.
Over all, the late Sen. Edward Kennedy was a fat, bloated bag of FAIL.

Oh, I’m most upset and sad as I have always loved his show “Dominick Dunne’s Power, Privilege and Justice” I always loved true crime tv and his documentaries always had that extra “je ne ce qua” ( I don’t know exactly what it was…) that made his shows more appealing and suspenseful and interesting to watch. My true condolences to his family and friends. Dominick, you will be missed!!!

RIP Dominick Dunne. Vanity Fair won't be the same without him.
