Well, I'll certainly have to think twice before ever letting this guy Levin make a post, or two on my blog, again:
David Frum: When Mark Levin -- you mentioned him - he said the President of the United States is literally at war with the American people. And then people begin, unsurprisingly, showing up at rallies with guns. It's just outrageous. It is dangerous. It's dangerous for the whole constitutional system.
Levin Freedom Concert Audio embedded below. That's right! I'll say it. Even if the back benchers won't! This guy is unhinged - just listen to him. The nerve. America belongs to the people?? I want Obama, Reid and Pelosi to know we're going to kick their asses out of office??? (Okay, arguably, that is a fate worse than death for those idiots). He calls them ... clowns?? Oh ... my ... God. I've never heard political rhetoric quite as dangerous as that.
Next he'll be saying Obama betrayed his country, as Al Gore said of Bush. Or calling Obama a terrorist and accusing him of attacking America on 9/11 and plucking innocent Americans off the streets, torturing them indiscriminately, when not eavesdropping on all our phone calls. Yes, once you call them clowns, there's simply no telling what depths to which you might sink.
Funny, but when Rodney King was beaten, later he said, "Why can't we all get along"? Now, every time Obama, who wields the most power in the land, is simply challenged, the Left and squishes like Frum first suggest you're only doing it because he's black, and then they say, Why don't you all just shut-up and go along?
Because, apparently unlike you, Frum, honest conservatives believe we owe America just a little bit more than that, ... you dope!

Levin is influential. He's found his voice, his moment, his purpose. Godspeed, Mark!
Right... you mentioned some other guy on NPR, what's his name?

Frum? Frum who?

All I can say is that Levin kicks ass!
Posted by: Jenny Cubachi | Monday, August 17, 2009 at 05:18 PM
Ya know, the threat of violence IS a threat to the Constitutional system, BUT -- to my mind, at least -- a bigger threat is a political class that considers itself our superiors.
Posted by: Rob Crawford | Monday, August 17, 2009 at 05:20 PM
Well...I listened to ML's speech .
Agreed, Frum's rhetoric is over the top.
Very much like like Levin here...
"...if they pass this govt. run health care which is intended to control you and your families"...
Um, sure...that's what it's all about....to control you.
and..
"...they call us nazis, racists, klansman"..
Really...who does, Mark? Right, 'they' do.
Did ML say anything of substance here? Did he suggest any alternate paths, options, ideas (aside from not having Obama&Pelosi, aka any Democrats in office)?
Nope.

Brilliant! And not a teleprompter in sight.
Although Levin gets fired up, he never says anything that cannot be backed up with logic and data (That's right, M2C. You dummy!). There's a cool head underneath all that passion.
Posted by: Brett_McS | Monday, August 17, 2009 at 05:34 PM
Brett,
I think 'dummy' is about the nicest thing I've ever been called here...so thanks for that.
Now, what is it that Levin is saying?
I know, the constitution is being shredded, blah, blah.
But what is his agenda...beyond stopping someone else's?
Posted by: Mike2Cents | Monday, August 17, 2009 at 05:46 PM
Rob, violence is written into our Constitutional system: the Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting.
Posted by: SDN | Monday, August 17, 2009 at 05:54 PM
M2C, if you had listened to Mark's show before mouthing off, you would know he plays the audio of Pelosi et al implying that these protesters are Nazis, clansmen, or racists. Every such statement he makes can be backed up.
You would also know that he (and the Republicans) have plans for actually improving - rather than making worse - the health care system. For example, tort reform. But of course the trial lawyers are one of the biggest contributors to the Democratic Party, so that isn't going to happen during this administration.
Posted by: Brett_McS | Monday, August 17, 2009 at 06:25 PM
Because when others do it it makes it okay for you to do it too? Right? Two wrongs make a right? Whose with me?
That said, Frum is being an idiot here.
Posted by: Jamie Lockett | Monday, August 17, 2009 at 06:52 PM
Oh, and you would also know that "That's right, you dummy!" is a classic Levin line for callers who don't have their facts straight.
Posted by: Brett_McS | Monday, August 17, 2009 at 06:53 PM
LOL. Poor Mike0sense and his ponderous strawmen:
"I know, the constitution is being shredded, blah, blah.
But what is his agenda...beyond stopping someone else's?"
Stopping a crime in progress is plenty of reason to intervene. Only a partisan zealot thinks that a citizen needs an additional "agenda" to be justified in opposing a government scheme that impacts their rights and their economic well-being.
Your comments exhibit the angst-ridden naivete of a 15-year old emo kid raging against "the system".

Mmmmm, Frumblog-A seething cauldron of calm conservatism. Think I'll pass.
Levin certainly is my cup of tea.
Here's someone else that's all fired up, and takes 'em to the woodshed:

I can just smell the liberal outrage,
"Look hon it's that darn Levin guy again."
"He is always trying to stir stuff up isn't he?"
"He is such a mean RACIST!!! Can you pass the tofu?"
To which Mark would simply say,
"Go mind your own business you dumb ass!!!"

Frum nowhere.....going nowhere.....

Let me shorten the criticism of Levin criticism for you clueless clingers and your limited comprehension. "Jews! JEWS! JOOOOOOOOOS!"

ProgWhyteLieberal- you are projecting. You are the bigot.

Yes indeed Ran, ML has written a book that answers pretty much all the contrarians questions about his ideas. But those folk are too busy reading the Star for truth about Palin lore to ever read books.
Hard for them to stay on message when truth gets in the way HUH.

David Frum reminds me of Frank Burns from the the show Mash.

Frum has been biting at Levin's ankles for quite some time now. Me thinks Frum has microphone envy...and I love Mark Levin dearly-rarely miss his broadcasts or free rebroadcasts.

Frum is awash in Levin-envy. Frum isn't good enough to lick Mark's dog's poop.
D@mn, Mark rocks!!

The last time the country got this disconnected or polarized, tens of thousands of men lined up across fields and blasted away at each other with rifles for 4 years. If it gets to violence, it won't be that pretty this time. The economy/supply chain of the US is too closely coupled for prolonged interruption, so it's important, very important that it never comes to that. The elected clowns in congress need to understand the source of the anger. Acting like spoiled entitled elitists and ignoring the problems facing the nation is not what we need. Attempting to drag a fiercely free society toward socialism is counterproductive.

Hyman -
"Stopping a crime in progress" - very Levin-esque.
Generally, your posts join Frum in over the top rhetoric.
And kinda funny that you think I'm the one here 'raging against the system'.
Brett -
I actually have listened to his show a few times - and have heard the 'Dummy' line, but didn't make the connection here...just not a big enough fan, I guess.
I do appreciate that you actually pointed to a substantive issue - tort reform. But even if effective reform could be mustered and passed (and Bush had 8 years, claimed it was on his agenda, and produced nothing - and the Dems seem unlikely to upset the law firm gravy train they are on), it would be a drop in the bucket remedy re: health care reform. I also think litigation serves well to somewhat keep business in check - they don't make safer toys for kids because it makes them money, that's for sure. So they are all for tort 'reform'.
Perhaps if I listen to ML a lot, maybe even every day, read all his books, got his email blasts etc. - then I would find tidbits of substantive ideas lurking amongst the shrill shreaking. But mostly that is what I hear (and not because I want to). And I do believe he's a smart guy, but I've seen no evidence that he thinks his listeners are. But it works for him, and I'm sure he makes enough money at it that the least of his worries is health insurance costs.

I also think litigation serves well to somewhat keep business in check - they don't make safer toys for kids because it makes them money, that's for sure.
Right. The only reason people make safe toys is because of the threat of lawsuits. Not the fact that, if word gets out that a toy is unsafe, no parent in their right mind will buy it and the company that makes it will take a huge hit in sales.
Pleasing consumers is the key to capitalism. Maiming, hurting, and causing your customers pain is not. Coca-Cola did not get rid of New Coke because people sued them; they got rid of it because people stopped buying Coke.
The reason the Obama Party doesn't understand this basic concept is because the vast majority of them have spent their entire lives working for a monopoly -- the government. You don't need to provide good service when you're the only provider; people have no choice to go elsewhere.

Sorry to burst Mike0sense's bubble,
But I don't listen to/read Levin or Frum. Last I heard about Frum, he was some kind of turncoat or something.
Posted by: Hyman Roth | Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 04:08 PM
Wow, Mark has great call and response skills. really knows how to work a crowd. I'd definitely like to see Levin in a long format interview format. Not on Hannity though. Something Charlie Rose or maybe Bill Moyers as David Frum was on. He probably wouldn't seek it or be interested in such a format but it would be very informative.

""...they call us nazis, racists, klansman"..
Really...who does, Mark? Right, 'they' do.
Well, it happens enough that Jonah Goldberg had to write a book refuting "their" lies.
