partisan votes?
the gop is now voting in the spirirt of populism.

the wh was comfortable about predicting peak unemployment at 8%, and didn't panic until it hit 9.4%.
mistake one: promising more than could be delivered.

now they are telling us that double digit unemployment is on its way.
mistake two: their refusal to project peak unemployment, now, further undermines their previous attempt at projecting, and would lead one to believe they now, no longer have the ability to predict future economic activity.

kinda like being in a car...
you get lost becuase you follow the wrong directions, and then suddenly you accept that you don't know where you are going and just keep driving, hoping that you don't run out of gas.

took a glance at the local paper's employment section.
a year ago, it was 12 pages long, on a weekday. this weekend, it was less than 2 pages.

i even tried to find the "stimulus jobs" section, but it must be a private listing for democratic congressional districts and union members.

I like some predictions. But mine are far, far more nightmarish, and likely to come to pass.

35% inflation by end of 2010. At least 25% unemployment by then. Obama and Biden resign, the Dem Senate appoints Hillary Rodham (Clinton) to the post of POTUS.

Further down line: Constitution is semi-suspended as President Hillary Rodham passes several key executive orders - with rubber-stamp Congressional Democrat support - suspending elections and putting us into a WW2 style command economy as western states start making noise if not outright moves under 10th Amendment to free themselves from the sinking American ship of state.
