I was thinking I might wait until Monday to post on this, but Glenn has it up, so I'm going to link it now. You can see the PJTV Health Care Forum here. Glenn's portion he mentions represents the main portion of the forum with Congressional guests. It's an extremely informative, well run forum. People should watch it and encourage friends and relatives wanting information on the health care debate to watch it, too.
(To get to my part, just click the tab for The Big Show.)
Contrast it with ABC, who gave us a solid evening of nothing more than Obama pitching his plan. I've linked it again, as I think the forum is one of the best applications of new media playing a serious and important role in discussing policy that I've seen in a video form.
Aside from blog and Internet readers, we are increasingly a nation of TV and video watchers. It's how most Americans are accustomed to getting their news and entertainment. And video is going to have to play an important role if new media is going to continue to grow, spreading out into the culture as a whole.
While I haven't been its harshest critic, I haven't always been the kindest to Pajamas Media over the entire span of its existence, either. I think I qualify as an objective source. If there were an Emmy nomination for best new Internet-based video documentary on a topic of national importance, the PJTV Health Care Forum would get my vote.
The debate to come in the Fall is going to be critically important. Arm yourself with some quality information and at least watch the segment mentioned above. If the Right loses the debate on health care and the people lose control of that significant a portion of our nation's GDP, any hope of a return to conservative principles in America may well be lost for good.

If the Right loses the debate on health care it will be because they refuse to cast health care reform as what it truly is - it is a tax on being a Jew.
In Massachusetts, when I filled out my tax return this year ... I got to an interesting set of questions. The first question was whether I had health insurance. I answered "no" (since I'm not working). I was then informed that I owed a $275.00 penalty for not having health insurance - a $275.00 fine.
But only if I was a Jew (or a Christian).
At that point, an interesting thing happened: my tax program asked me if I was a Muslim, or a member of a religion exempted from paying the health reform tax.
Only Jews in Massachusetts have to pay the health tax (or Christians).
Muslims, I found out later, are exempt from the fine handed out if you refuse to buy insurance.
The Massachusetts Health Reform (which is the model for what the Democrats want to do nationally) is a stealth tax on being a Jew. And that's all it is. It hasn't cut costs. It hasn't extended benefits to the uninsured. But it taxes Jews (and Christians) very efficiently.
It's a Jew Tax.

CNN has the story of a 23-year-old with leukemia. He has no insurance, but is nevertheless getting excellent health care.
No insurance costs. Plus top-notch health care.
Sounds like the present system works just fine. I fail to see the health care crisis here.

And don't forget....if you oppose the Obama Party's healthcare schemes, Barack Obama says you're a racist.
"The intraparty dispute had racial overtones. One African-American Democrat, Representative Hank Johnson of Georgia, pointed out that the seven Blue Dog Democrats holding up the health care bill in the Energy and Commerce Committee were “a nondiverse group” of white men."

I've been very unimpressed by PJTV since its beginnings. And I've found myself avoiding links from one of my favorite bloggers (hint, hint)that appear to link to PJTV because they seem to get bigger play not because of quality but that blogger's association with PJTV.
And whatever video system they use sucks. Often it simply doesn't work depending on which computer or browser I am using.
Finally, the bluescreened backgrounds scream amateur. Please get somebody with a sense of design to donate some ideas.
So, I'm trying to watch this but the video keeps stopping to load about every 2 minutes. My internet is running around 50 mbps.

If Muslims are exempt from having to buy insurance what about other groups like the Amish?
Posted by: Lala | Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 07:52 AM
There are no Amish in Massachusetts. Plenty of Muslims, however ... as the City of Boston just finished helping them build a $16.5 million mosque.
Although there are other theoretical religions who might be exempt from the tax if they existed in Massachusetts, the loophole is designed to be paid mainly by Jews (and Christians) while letting Muslims go without paying the tax.

Lefties are obsessed with killing babies, moreso than "birthers" are obsessed with not killing them. Looks like your grandma may be next!!

Y'all keep wasting attention watching Palin and Gates.....so you wont see the train coming at you. I think lefties may really be smarter than conservatives.

I came across this comment on another site. IT MADE ME SICK TO THINK THAT THIS COUNLD HAPPEN.
The health care proposal currently in Congress would mean health care rationing - especially for seniors. If you don't think this is true, I suggest you educate yourself on the terms "comparative effectiveness" and "quality adjusted life years". Those terms are central to the proposal being considered and could become very important to you. Basically they mean old folks aren't going to live that much longer anyway, so let's not spend a lot of money on them. President Obama said as much recently when he said sometimes it's better to just give a pain-killer pill. He didn't say better for who.
Of course, we've already seen this here in Oregon. Last year Barbara Wagner of Springfield, Oregon was told Medicaid wouldn't pay for her cancer treatment but would pay for her assisted suicide. (Ref: June 3, 2008 article in the Eugene (OR) Register-Guard, written by Tim Christie) You can't get much more kind and caring than that, now can you?
But us old folks are terribly inconvenient, aren't we? Better to just let us die and get us out of the way.
