Disappointing, and certainly sets a bad example for Olympians as role models for younger athletes.

The Olympics stopped being a source of role models decades ago.

Maybe we should encourage kids to look to better role models than monomaniacal athletes, anyway. Maybe their parents? Or somebody in their neighborhood who has accomplished something meaningful, like starting a business or helping people out of their own free will?
