I love it when Obama Party members start namecalling people over taxes.

Perhaps they should be asking Gene Taylor why he believes Obama Party members who constantly seek to raise taxes don't have to pay them.

Piffle, everyone knows in the age of Obama all promises come with expiration dates.

pretend you are a blue dog...

for the gop in the house to block anything, assuming they vote together, they still need an additional 40 blue dogs.

membership in blue dog coaliton runs 54(?), so even if 39 blue dogs side with the gop, the 15 who 'help' pass legistlation are in the cat birds seat. Privately, rahm can go to each one, and ask them to name their price, knowing full well that almost all of them will have an offer that they can't refuse, and rahm can pick and choose the best deals.

the coaltion probably knows this, and may very well just set an 'opening bid price', but chances are the votes can be bought for less than 10 billion of pork. the problem is that if they sign on to a bill, that won't survive the senate, they will have voted for something, which will serve as a noose around their neck come midterms. all 54 face angry crowds when they go home, and unless they plan on not serving after 2010, they are going to have a long hard look.

even if the bill passes, and the pork comes in, there are no guarantees.

the weakness of the dems on healthcare is shuffling money, that doesn't exist, from medicare to govt care. explaining to old people that despite their previous need for them to keep working until they could retire, for the sake of getting healthcare, the future generation will now be given healthcare, at pretty much anytime they want to retire.

this is going to make 94 look like a modest ripple, unless barring all logic, young people decide that for the first times in their lives, they will vote in a midterm, and old people, for the first time in their lives, won't vote en masse for their own self interests. This admin has been keeping an eye on right wing fringe groups, but the group they need to pay attention to is those blue and silver haired diehard voters.
