He's thought by some to have leaked a recent report that appeared to have unfairly criticized Sarah Palin for her legal defense fund and has given money to Democrats over the years, as well as being a partner in a law firm that represented Obama's political campaign. Yeah, one can't get much more ethical than that (story link here). Good grief!
The independent investigator who has accused Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin of violating state ethics laws is a major donor to the Democratic Party as well as a partner in a law firm that represented Barack Obama's presidential campaign.
Thomas Daniel was hired by the Alaska Personnel Board in late April to investigate several complaints against Palin, including one filed by an Alaska resident who claims the governor used her official position for personal gain by authorizing the creation of a trust to use as her legal defense fund.
In a July 14 report leaked to The Associated Press and major news organizations, Daniel accused Palin of drawing improper gifts and unwarranted benefits. His report recommended that Palin refuse to accept payment from the defense fund and settle the complaint to avoid a formal hearing before the board.

The left is so afraid of Sarah is pitiful. Why don't they move on.
What a bunch of scumbags.

somebody needs to get an foia on that "arrest tape", pronto...
by now, obama has heard it. my bet is he went for a private apology, and a wh invite.
the public isn't going to accept his insertion into the matter without complete withdrawal.
he will apologize by monday.

Oh... and how about them numbers huh?
"WASHINGTON — A majority of Americans take a negative view of outgoing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and although she remains popular among Republicans, her image within the party has slipped, according to a new poll.
Palin's favorabilty rating has dipped to its lowest level in the Washington Post-ABC News since she came to national attention last summer as GOP presidential nominee John McCain's running mate. Fifty-three percent of those polled view her negatively and 40 percent have a favorable impression."

Fifty-seven percent don't think she "understands complex issues"
you know that is why the typical wingnut loves Sarah. She is just like them. Dumb.

"Betting on America's failure 6 months into a Presidency seems like a shortsighted strategy in retrospect, doesn't it?"
Betting on an advance 6 months into a Presidency, especially one in which the President has demonstrated a hatred for business and corporate success, is even more shortsighted.
It amuses me how the anti-corporate, anti-business leftists, who scream that any corporate profits are evil and any stockholder benefit is awful, are now citing the Dow.

North Dallas,
It will never occur to Leftards that the Stock Markets are not "the economy", but what the H^ll. Note that the markets' rising occur as more votes are found in the House and Senate to block Obama/Reid/Pelosi's agenda. The whole point of Geitner's effort was to keep the values stable - from sinking or rising too far. [Poor Timmy G.! Tax Cheat in Chief - can't figure-out TurboTax either.] He's learning only too late that he can't control it any more than he can ocean tides. O/R/P can't deliver the votes, and the markets party.
As for the "economy", unemployment sucks big. U6 figures in particular... if this is a "rebounding economy", I'd sure as H^ll hate to see a serious recession.
Yeah... GM share values! What a deal, eh?

Unless people object to an on topic post, it's ironic that Palin's open government initiative is being exploited to harass her. Lesson learned I'd bet. And an argument for litigation reform--there should be consequences for frivolous complaints.

wingnut: "Mention Sarah Palin and you guys wet your pants"
Hey, it's you guys that seem to get a little damp in the pants with Sarah. Let's all remeber this embarrassing moment in wingnut punditry:
"when Palin dropped her first wink, sat up a little straighter on the couch and said, "Hey, I think she just winked at me." And her smile. By the end, when she clearly knew she was doing well, it was so sparkling it was almost mesmerizing. It sent little starbursts through the screen and ricocheting around the living rooms of America."

You've left out the value of small businesses. The Markets don't adequately reflect that, and it's, what, 2/3 of the industrial sector? "Minimum Wage" just went-up today. So did unemployment as small businesses lay-off workers. So much for the bullsh!t about "rebounding."

"The stock market rebounded 3000 points in 3 months."
Puhleeez. The lowest the Dow has gotten in the past 6 months is just under 6,500. It was at 7,800 three months ago. 9,000 minus either of those doesn't equal 3,000.
We don't expect you to be intelligent, jaime. But demonstrating that you have no concept of even basic math demonstrates just how incompetent you truly are. That's what happens when schools award grades based on skin color.
"Which is why he pumped up hundreds of billions of dollars to rescue a failing banking industry?"
As I recall, the TARP bailout happened BEFORE Obama was President. Indeed, under Obama, the banks have been AVOIDING it and repaying any money they received, realizing that Obama is a Marxist who has every intention of shutting them down and collapsing their business.
Posted by: North Dallas Thirty | Friday, July 24, 2009 at 04:04 PM
It's indicative that they have skew the sample to adults, not registered or likely voters to come to the results they want. On the Washington
Post/ABC poll. It does strike me how these same voters did elect someone who doesn't realize Hirohito wasn't at the Missouri with McArthur, who thinks a bomb fell on Pearl Harbor, or that
we have 57 states, who thinks doctors do tonsilectomies strictly for money.
Posted by: narciso | Friday, July 24, 2009 at 04:09 PM
North,
Note the infection of CRA liabilities sold into the markets as "assets." That debacle is still growing, because TARP still hasn't purchased troubled "assets." The nightmare that crashed the banks is STILL in play. This isn't over until the bloody CRA and Freddie Mae - Mac Fannie (Slide knows all about that...) are put to permanent rest.

"Slide and jamie fail, once again."
actually the polling sample for the WashPost/ABC poll seems to be right on:
"Over the first four months of 2009, the Republican Party has continued to lose adherents. Interviews with over 7,000 respondents nationwide so far this year found fewer than a quarter (23%) of the combined total identifying themselves as Republicans. This is down from 25% in 2008, and from 30% in 2004. In total, the GOP has lost roughly a quarter of its base over the past five years.
But these Republican losses have not translated into substantial Democratic gains. So far in 2009, 35% of adults nationwide identify as Democrats, about the same as in 2008 (36%). While GOP identification has fallen seven points since 2004, the Democrats have gained only two points over that period. Instead, a growing number of Americans describe themselves as independents, 36% in 2009 compared with just 32% in 2008 and 30% in 2004."

Too late, the slide has started (one of the trolls has even adopted that as it's nom-de-plume - how defeatist!), the honeymoon is over and from now on the fascist-liberals are going to be running in circles trying to distract people from reality. Once the Cult Of Obama cracks, the whole Dem edifice will come crumbling down...hopefully sooner rather than later so the One's planned destruction of the USA can be fixed relatively painlessly.

Do Slide and Jaime have jobs? Do these jobs entail working for Obama, because it seems they have nothing better to do but sit and be slavering attack dogs against those of us who think that Obama is a Marxist, Muslim, anti-American piece-of-dung?
Go get a life.
Obama has not done a single thing right. The stock market went up like gangbusters in the early 1930's, too, after the Crash in '29. And then proceeded to plummet all the way down until it lost 90% of it's peak value.
It's interesting that now the stock market is a big indicator for the trolls of how well Obama is doing, since he himself dismissed it when it was crashing. It's also interesting how in the real world, we have unemployment north of 9.5% (or, closer to 16% if one takes into account those who are not even looking anymore), in spite of the Liar-in-Chief saying it wouldn't go over 8%. He's just freakin' brilliant.
Glad to know that Slide and Jaime have ACORN jobs, or whoever is paying for their bilge.
Note that the economy slid off the proverbial cliff AFTER THE DEMS TOOK CONTROL OF THE LEGISLATURE in 2006. Blame Bush all you want, but it's Barney Fwank, and Dodd and Pelosi that took down the economy, if one wants to blame any particular individuals. Barney, of course, is the one who said that Fannie and Freddie were in such great shape, and blocked legislation (introduced by McCain, who got this one right) to reform Fannie and Freddie. Frank, of course, was shtupping (you can figure it out) an officer of Fannie, while Fannie was shtupping the economy into crisis.
Anyway, it's been great to read the absolutely moronic drivel from Slide and Jaime, the Twin Trolls. Dan, they've just about ruined your otherwise wonderful blog. A bit of intelligent riposte is ok, but these two Obamatards are doing their best to ruin it with their monopolization of every single post.

The liberal trolls are all out in force today, especially with their talking points in hand. Here's the real deal: According to Fordham University's ranking of 2008 election pollsters, Rasmussen was no.1 while ABC was ranked 14th. ABC polls finished BELOW polls taken for the Daily Kos, Democracy Corps.

Regarding the topic of this thread: No shock from me about the 'indepedent' investigator working for the Democrat party. Gotta love Washington Post today: Run their rigged, push poll and then publishes a hit piece on Palin by Boxer and Kerry on same day. Wonder if state-run media will talk about Rasmussen poll showing Boxer only up by 4 against Carly Florina? Don't bet the car on it Then claim she's 'washed up' and 'finished'. Oh yes Rasmussen today has Obama in Ratings index at 30/38 or -8 and overall approval rating at 49/51.
Posted by: Kevin H | Friday, July 24, 2009 at 07:20 PM
Didn't ABC/Washington Post most recent approval rating for Obama have him near 60 pct? That says it all about their polls-WORTHLESS. Remember Rasmussen, not the state-run media polls are the gold standard in polling today.

But unfortunately for the Quitter from Wasilla and her wingnut sycophants, nowadays Republicans only account for 23% of the electorate..so 67% of 23% don't mean a whole lot of people now does it.
