If it's unfair to judge Obama by our standards, surely we are able to judge him by his own, I would think?
When I saw the New York Times headline on the heels of his White House meet and drink, I couldn't help but think back to his own rhetoric from the campaign. The concept is emphasized in this older news report. And I can still recall Obama himself telling us of his unusual gift to get a room full of people together and somehow magically transform them into a cohesive mass.
Unfortunately, it isn't supported by the take of the New York Times on his meeting with Crowley and Gates. At least we now know something he's actually good at besides giving a teleprompted speech. I had begun to wonder about that: Obama More Bartender Than Mediator At Beer Summit. Thank heaven we can finally relax knowing he should never find himself without job prospects after he's removed from office in 2012.
CHICAGO: If Barack Obama wins Tuesday's presidential election, the world will see the United States in a very different light because of his ability to be inclusive and form a consensus, a former close aide has said. It may also herald the debut of dal on the White House menu, he added.
"He has the rare ability to cut to the heart of issues very quickly and make decisions that synthesize the various views on the table. It is really something to behold. It is not an instinct everybody has," said New Delhi-born Raja Krishnamoorthi, who was the policy director in Obama's campaign for the US Senate.
Yes, behold the messiah as he pours you a tall, cold refreshing glass of brewski. It is a truly amazing gift. I haven't seen anything quite so profound since Joe, or Nicky back in Trenton, NJ where I was born and learned to drink.

Please don't link to trash (NYT).
In any case, you know it's bad when even the NYT has such a negative headline (Obama More Bartender Than Mediator At Beer Summit).

Let's play the favorite liberal game called "change the subject when things get tough."

"Obama More Bartender Than Mediator At Beer Summit."
Much of the the problem "lies", as it were, with Obama. The Girlie Tosser in Chief is great at sending people under the bus, but he's pathetic at admitting error or making sincere apology.
On the one hand, I'm with Radly Balko and similar libertarians: Gates had a first amendment protected right to be the complete jerk, and that Crowley ought not have made the arrest. From that view, Crowley did indeed act stupidly.
The Won had the opportunity to rise above both Gates and Crowley and blew the opportunity badly. Instead he demeaned the Office yet again with yet another inappropriately-made remark, even if technically he was in the Right.
Has Gates apologized for nasty ad-hominem? Doubt it. Crowley for wrongful arrest? Probably not. Obama for shooting his mouth off like an adolescent? Yeah, nice dope, man.
Three morons all hooked on Power. Moe, Larry and Curly couldn't have possibly been more pathetic.
Lala... THAT was worth a beer.

The few photos I saw of the event gave me a stark conclusion, there was only one man at the table. The rest were just boys playing at being men. Obama doesn't appear to know how to throw a party featuring beer. Pitiful the state our country finds itself in.

"Republicans are polling in the mid 20's, a full 30% lower than Obama..."
Wow how astute and inapplicable to the subject. But since you brought it up, why not mention that Obie is falling in those same polls, congress remains lower than 20% (fair since you said "republicans" vs the prez)and falling (Do they have minus numbers in polls?) You might also have mentioned that Obie is also losing some of his base, quickly. It was very nice of him to invite Joey Plugs to the party so whitey didn't feel outnumbered though.....Now, I'd drink a beer with Mr President (long as we didn't have to talk politics and get me arrested) but that fool Biden would have to leave.

Wonder what Pelosi is polling these days?
That's right, lower than Sarah Palin.
Since that makes Sarah Palin incompetent and unfit for office in your mind, why haven't you asked your Pelosi to resign yet?
