If Bush had said this, we'd be reading that it proved how dumb and uninformed he was. But it was Obama, so it's just a slip of the tongue - assuming the teleprompter didn't misfire, again.
MOSCOW (Reuters) - In a slip of the tongue, U.S. President Barack Obama described Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Monday as president, echoing the widely held view that he remains Russia's most powerful man.

Must have been teleprompter error..the Chairman, as you know, cannot possibly make a mistake.

No mistake. He's the President of the 57th State.

the quote?
"I suspect when I speak to President..eh.. Prime Minister Putin tomorrow, he will say the same thing."
reuters call this "describing"?
small potatoes for a guy who doesn't know how many states there are, or what a P/E ratio is...
bigger potatoe?
14% unemployment.

The press can only pretend obama is competent for so long. the empirical case is being made before their eyes.
this gaffe, with a 53% approval rating is quickly forgotten. The press won't be so kind when he is in the mid forties before completing his first year in office. Can't even imagine how much I enjoy asking dems about all that "goodwill" he had after his election, that he has been repeatedly squandering.
I get the idea he can spend money. I also get the idea that he has no clue on how to make it, outside of a printing press.

"echoing the widely held view that he remains Russia's most powerful man."
See, by tacking that on, they try to make it look like crafty statesmanship and not just a blunder.
It didn't echo anything, it was a mistake.
Is that what Obama was really trying to do in his diplomatic mission, question the authenticity/ undermine the strength of the Russian leadership? Is this part of Obama’s “brilliant” plan to deal with the Russians once and for all?

Is that it guys? all you got? So you think the President doesn't know how many states there are? lol... ok, gotta love the wingnuts, they are sooooo entertaining. I think you all got a great meme going - keep up the good work. This should topple the Socialist Administration any day now.

"Is that it guys? all you got?"
It's a blunder that the president made, that the MSM is going to ignore, and that if it had been bush would have been fodder for late night jokes for about a month.
What else is there to say? That seems like plenty to me.

"Is that it guys? all you got?"
I would ask the same of democratic economic policy. Over 50% of our work force comes from small business. There is not a single incentive to hire. The first stimulus is a joke as it went to federal jobs. It might have helped if the plan was to make up the shortfall of the states, so that at least the states would not lay people off. The problem is that the admin doesn't care about state jobs, becuase they feel a state govt would supplant a national govt.
the only way out of this was targetted stimulus with tax cuts. the stimulus wasn't targetted, and the dems would rather lose in 2010, instead of having to admit that tax cuts work.
"77% See Politicians Unwillingness to Cut Government Spending as Bigger Problem Than Voter Resistance to Tax Hikes"
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/general_politics2/77_see_politicians_unwillingness_to_cut_government_spending_as_bigger_problem_than_voter_resistance_to_tax_hikes
this poll was from may. the numbers are going to grow worse.
56% don't want to pay more tax to address global warming.(rassmussen)
"Fifty-seven percent (57%) of voters nationwide say that tax cuts generally help the economy. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that only 17% disagree and believe that tax cuts will hurt the economy."
(rasmussen/january 09)
I figure the admin has less than 16 months to turn it around, or they lose the house.
14% unemployment... What sort of equivalency do you think that would strike with Bush and casualties in Iraq?
14% unemployment is probably worse than 15k dead.
For the record, obama didn't know how many states there were. He said 57. That would be if I took him at his word, as you do.

Obambi bumbles like a babbling buffoon while Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Putin are laughing at how easy it will be to lead the weak horse to the slaughter house.

as previously stated, the "president" gaffe was small potatoes.
this?
"“I am aware of not only the extraordinary work you have done on behalf of the Russian people in your previous role as prime minister -- as president -- but in your current role as prime minister,” Obama told Putin after more than an hour of talks at the premier’s residence near Moscow.
georgia and ukraine might beg to differ.
one big ass mistake america.

"this gaffe, with a 53% approval rating is quickly forgotten. The press won't be so kind when he is in the mid forties before completing his first year in office."
just caught rassmussen's obama numbers...
it is now 52-47.
if there is something that the admin is going to pull off to staunch the bleeding, they better come up with it quick.
there are no popular legistlative ideas outside of tax cuts or reducing the size of govt.
Iran just blew the admin's plan for a "sweeping foreign policy victory". I have to laugh if obama is going to hold up his ass kissing in moscow as a positive sign of his diplomatic ability.
at first I couldn't wait for 2010, but now, it approaches too fast for my taste. not nearly enough time for the democratic party to hit terminal velocity, but I guess ther is no difference if you hit the ground going 90 mph, or 120 mph, aside from the size of the crater and the radius of the splat.

"President Obama's job approval in Ohio has dropped significantly in the last two months, dipping under the 50% mark for the first time, according to a new poll by Quinnipiac University. In the last Quinnipiac poll in Ohio taken in early May, Obama enjoyed a healthy 62% job approval rating, with only 31% disapproving. Today, Obama's job approval stands at 49%, with 44% disapproving - a twenty-five point net drop in just eight weeks."

worth repeating-
"a twenty-five point net drop in just eight weeks."
guess who is going to take the fall for a floundering economy.

http://blogs.usatoday.com/onpolitics/2009/06/poll-34-approval-for-harry-reid-.html
"The new poll from the Las Vegas Review-Journal shows that the Senate's top Democrat, who is up for re-election in 2010, earns a 34% approval rating from voters in his home state. The low numbers aren't new -- in a similar poll last month, about 38% of Nevadans had a favorable view of Reid, and nearly half of those polled said they would definitely vote him out of office."
splat.

Not that I think that there will be a GOP comeback, but the O's about to crash and burn. Big time.

I do so love it when the idiots like Slide come around honestly believing that, because Oblahblah is "popular", that the American public won't respond to a massive tax increase, attacks on business, and enormous expansion of government to enrich Obama's cronies.
Evidently they believe the lies they told to voters. Obama lied. There's no two ways about it. He lied about taxes, he lied about defense, and he lied about abortion. Indeed, Jeremiah Wright called it correctly when he pointed out that Obama would say and do anything to get elected. The NAFTA flap showed that Obama would blatantly lie in public to get whatever he wanted.
