After my initial shock, I began to see this as the start of her 2012 election campaign. Go 'Cuda! Just tell me where to send the checks! It's a win/win. She gets to take the offensive, build a war chest, and hit back at TOTUS's attack machine. The leftards are howling cause their 2 year plan to bleed her dry just went down the drain.

It has also revealed, once again, the absolute cluelessness of the RINO's who keep whining that "she hasn't written any position papers and so she can never be president." Or, "they're going to call her a quitter." After all the vitriol heaped on her, "quitter" is going to do her in. She's going to steam roll over those nimrods straight to the people lining up to support her. RUN SARAH, RUN!

Hey, BR... Ditto what you said. Check Mark Levin's audio rewind.

PALIN 2012

I realllly don't see a bid for the 2012 GOP nomination just yet - I think this is in part to take some of the lefty-press machine off guard, and to possibly take some of the focus off her family.

I could see her signing up as a mouthpiece/commentator for the SoCon/FisCon wings of the party, in the short run.

I think, with her star power and ability to draw cash, she could help a whole network of freshmen fiscal conservatives in 2010 and develop a core of like minded congress critters for a run in 2012.

I think its a whole new game and the old models no longer apply or at least may be circumvented.

"I think its a whole new game and the old models no longer apply or at least may be circumvented."

Reminds me of what they were saying about the "New Economy" before the dot-com bubble burst. It's the sweet siren song of self-delusion.

"Reminds me of what they were saying about the "New Economy" before the dot-com bubble burst. It's the sweet siren song of self-delusion."

remind me of where obama predicted unemployment would peak with his stimulus...

can you remind me when we don't have three consecutive years of 4% gdp growth predicted by the wh?

you wouldn't care if the gop reminds the public that obama said that 95% of the country would not see their taxes go up?

would it be fair to also remind you bob, that obama said he would produce a "net spending cut" in the third debate?

Bob, if the MSM doesn't regain audience and revenues, as in tomorrow, the MSM bubble is burst. It is already a whole new game out there. Who knows if the NY Times, for example, will even be around in '12? CNN?

Simple fact... a solid candidate does not need the MSM to reach independents. Simply using Fox, Talk Radio and the blogosphere - and ignoring the MSM - would be huge reach beyond what the MSM can provide. H^ll, I'd skip the whole "debate" BS and take the message directly to the public.

"It's the sweet siren song of self-delusion." This describe the average Obama devotee. Project, bob, projection.

I do agree that Sarah Palin has her sights on a '012 run for President. She can now travel the country to huge crowds, pounding the Obama administration at every turn and being successful at it. Remember she was quite effective as an attack machine before the financial meltdown. It looked as though at the time she might be able to propel McCain to victory. With Obama having a record to defend in '12, he will have a hard time against Palin, who will slice and dice him.

She can't even get out a clear explanation of why she's quitting - and she's going to slice and dice Obama? Out of the mouths of wing-nuts.

They're being so mean to me!!! I quit!!! If she can't handle the heat in Anchorage, how's she going to handle it in Washington, where it's gonna be a helluva lot hotter. Some frigging pitbull.

Palin's unleashed.

She may be ambitious, but I don't think she's selfish. As the Cheneys and Bolton pound Obama on foreign policy (while Obama stands clueless with his mute and defanged Secretary of State), Palin and a few others will unite to pound Obama on domestic issues. Outside Congress, I think that will be Newt, Romney, Daniels, Jindal (maybe), a few others. Inside Congress, there might be a handful of stalwarts--Pence, Bachman, DeMint, Imhofe, a few others.

I'm betting that she'll spend time campaigning for candidates in districts and states where she can put a conservative over the hump. Dems in purple districts won't have Obama's coattails--and they'll be looking at a clearer picture of Obama's un-American worldview.

Possible slogans: "Reclaim/Resurrect the American Dream" or "Reclaim/Resurrect American Exceptionalism." Also, "Vote for Those Who Can't: Your Children." Or "Believe in America Again: End Obama Tyranny."

Get cracking.

Absolutely right. Shes far from done. I think she'll take a hit short term because the media will try and bury her and Republican pundits are embarrassing to watch make a coherant argument on TV but long term this was her best option.

But she's been left for dead before. She resigned from a job before to turn in the head of the GOP in Alaska against the wishes of the Republican AG and Republican Gov. She had the last laugh

I still think the Sarah Pac numbers will say a lot when they are released.

Try wiping that spittle from your cheek Nishner, Its kinda pathetic.
As far as whats gonna be going forward I can only guess as all the rest are attempting to do now.And frankly I dont care one spit until I hear it from her and not the talking heads.

she is now free to give any speech she wants, and employ any speechwriter of her choosing. might even ask obama about which is the best model of teleprompters.

I can hear the left squealing now...
"but Peggy Noonan wrote that for her".
(i use noonan as an example, but would be extremely skeptical to see her support palin)

The entire campaign, she was given moderate talking points, consistent with the role of a veep to the gop nominee.

I caught the exit speech...
not her best stuff, but it was 'her' stuff. (Wasted opportunity.)

All is forgiven once her speechwriting team gets assembled. I respect her/like her but I'm not part of the cult of sarah. What is intriguing is how many people are in the 'cult', right now.

unlimited potential.

The reasons of Palin resignation are controversial. What could be the real cause of her decision? Vote on the most possible one - http://www.votetheday.com/america/palin-resignation-424/

One of the keys to Palin's attraction for certain conservatives is the very fact that she's held in contempt by most of the mainstream, including independents and some moderate conservatives. In typical dead-ender fashion, the more that Palin's flaws and her inexplicably erratic behavior are remarked upon by the mainstream, the more the true believers see her as their "savior." It's like some sort of tragic love affair. Like Juliet and Romeo, Palin will end up leading herself and her supporters to their political doom.

And by the way, don't kid yourself that anyone's afraid of Sarah Palin. She has now reached the status of a national joke.

Actually, Bob, it's you and your Obama Party that are proving to be the national joke.

Palin has had fifteen ethics lawsuits filed against her, almost all by bloggers like "Celtic Diva" who are paid by the DNC and by Barack Obama to do it. Not a one of them has been proven correct. The Obama Party blogger Shannyn Moore published to her Twitter account that Sarah Palin was going to be indicted on Federal charges. This was proven to be a lie by the FBI itself. Both have bragged that their actions are meant to harm Sarah Palin and financially bankrupt her.

In contrast, not a single "principled Obama" party member like yourself, Bob, has filed a lawsuit against Charles Rangel for cheating on his taxes, for William Jefferson for accepting bribes, for Maxine Waters and Barney Frank for deliberately manipulating bailout money to banks in which their family members held stock, to Murtha for his kickback connections to the PMA Group, to Chris Dodd for lying on financial disclosure forms and accepting bribes from Countrywide Mortgage, to Obama himself for his deals with Rezko...the list goes on and on.

Why do you do it, Bob? Simple. Your Obama can't win otherwise. Ever since his first campaign, Obama has had to cheat. He had opponents removed from the ballot. He got divorce records that are sealed unsealed in order to smear his opponent. In the latest election, he illegally channeled money to organizations that were engaging in voter registration fraud and lied about it. Now that he's in office, he is actively suppressing Inspectors General that show his campaign contributors and his wife engaging in illegal conduct and misuse of Federal funds.

Meanwhile, the fact that you attack Palin over nonexistent ethics claims with the express intent of bankrupting her financially while ignoring your own makes it obvious that you consider "ethics" laws to be political weapons and that neither you or your Obama Party actually believe in paying your taxes, you see nothing wrong with taking bribes, and you believe that everything your Obama Party does is correct.
