Better make that "willing to." I've never understood how people raise money through their blogs. Other than asking to help with long distance charges when covering the Holloway case, which I maanaged to cover, I've never run a blog bleg. So, I guess people aren't in the habit here. I average about .5 donations a year, which is to say I had one a month or so and it was a first in two years.

Maybe one has to tell long stories of economic woe, or have massively large, or personally friendly blog readership and community, or train people somehow. Who knows? Maybe the blog just sux!

Fortunately, it isn't a big deal. With Typepad, my blog costs are about $14 a month - so I've never seen the need to do it to cover blog costs, either. I know that if I tried to live on blegs, I'd starve. And if anything, I need to lose some more weight right now!

But it's my birthday, so I know that ain't happening today! ; )
