Differing Views On Palin

I've no intention of getting into any blood feuds over Sarah Palin. We can all express our opinions and remain on the same side. What is most important right now is getting ready for 2010. And there is no presidential race involved.

That has to be our focus. And many of us will have different views on Palin today, though I would hope we all get behind whomever the GOP nominee might be in 2012. What we need to do most of all and as soon as possible is win. For now, that means 2010.

Donald Douglas seems to have a different take on Palin, as do others. That's fine with me.

You want some facts?

fact: Obama is siding with castro and chevez

fact. we are out of power.

fact Obama is running up massive red ink

fact Obama is in russia disarming america

fact the GOp and its opionion leaders over the last 5 days did nothing to advance the conservative cause, nor the republician cause. In fact they gave their enemies ammo to sling back in our faces.

Is there negatives to Palin? yes Is there negatives to Obama? yes. I don't hear much of the left pointing out every negative of Obama. In fact I see the opposite. Is it so hard for the right to ignore the negatives and concentrate on the positive?

the Palin story could as easily be written with a very positive face on it. she is taking the fight to the national stage, she gave up her position her security to fight for her nation. Is that not what our founding fathers did?

did they not quit their positons in the British government, abandon their businesses, their families and wage war for freedom and liberty. Yes as a matter of fact they did. They put everything on the line for that idea of freedom and liberty.

But instead of writting the story that way. the right decides to say she is done.

Here is a hint. When you are trying to rally people to your cause you do not call your leaders quitters.

I find it interesting that people are so quick to relegate Palin to the scullery maid position. She's not good enough to be president but she can work hard, use her charisma and star power to raise money for others unknown. If these unknown candidates are so much better than Palin, what do they need her for? So the "smart" decision would be for Palin to work her butt off for the same GOP that continues to trash her anonymously. She gets nothing but the "honor" of helping more deserving republicans elected to office. Wow, she'd have to be as stupid as the leftards claim she is to take that deal.

I think people don't get it yet. I agree with you first off. second the people saying she should work her butt off for others don't understand. When she goes in an helps she becomes the Kingmaker and as such her leadership position moves up. what the reps are asking her to do is become the leader of the party. Dan, did you read Maureen Dowd this morning? Someone needs to get her and Andrew Sullivan padded rooms at the happy tablet academy. Never before has a resignation of a public person caused such a display of "professional" insanity. Sarah certainly has smoked them out.

If Sarah figures out how to harness all - or just a good portion - of her talent, well it's Margaret Thatcher II time. Which would be a refreshing and much-needed change after Obama's Jimmy Carter II.

I am an independant-a former democrat. I view the bruhaha over Palin very telling: That the Dems are scared to hell ,of her and the Repubs ( aka dems light) are scared of her. Sarah Palin's polling with independents dropped consistently over time the more they got to know Palin during the last election. You really have to stop just listening to Limbaugh/Hannity/Coulter. Obama broke state law to try to destroy Joe the Plumber. It's typical of the left to attack those who they consider a threat, especially when the best they can put forward is a candidate qualified solely on the basis of skin color and nothing else. Joe the Plumber was attacked because he showed the world that Oblahblah was lying when he said he would never raise taxes.

it is called hedging one's bet. If obama's economic policies fail, all this work against palin means nothing. Instead of investing in a 'home insurance' the left is blowing their money on a lottery which, if they win, will not recoup their 'investment'.

Part of what drives me to post here to highlight the incredible conspiracy theories and plain wackiness of the right wing for what it is.
