Why do we call them the Democrat Party? Well, along with getting under their skin, because they are the most un-democratic bunch in town.
Democrats Gag Debate on Failure to Follow House Rules
(WASHINGTON, DC) – In an astonishing acceleration of the stifling of debate and transparency in the House, Democrats tonight voted to adjourn and gag the planned special orders speeches of U.S. Representatives John Carter (R-TX) and Steve King (R-IA).

Hey, they won!!
So it's all good. Free speech? Public debate? You've got to be kidding.

It wasn't long ago that Republicans passed the Patriot act in the middle of the night and then accused those who complained of being anti-american.
It wasn't long ago that Republicans were calling Capitol Hill Police on Democrats to evict them from a meeting room.
It wasn't long ago that Tom Delay would hold votes open until he was able to threaten/bribe uncooperative Republicans on the house floor.
The Republicans were thugs in the majority and now when they are out of power they gnash teeth, and actually compare themselves to Iranian protesters or Jews in Nazi Germany.
Has there ever been a bigger collection of pussies ever assembled than the current Republican congress?

Yep, there actually is a bigger group of pussies: those who pass legislation without reading it - at least those who haven't been caught with a freezer full of cash yet. Pussies who pick on the disabled children of Vice Presidential candidates. And pussies who took 3 years of relatively balanced federal budgets created by a Republican Congress from 1998-2001, and turn it into trillion dollar deficits. A lot of pussies out there, jaime...:)

Bizarro Wingnut Alert: "And pussies who took 3 years of relatively balanced federal budgets created by a Republican Congress from 1998-2001, and turn it into trillion dollar deficits. A lot of pussies out there, jaime...:)"
When Bush the elder left office he left record deficits. Clinton turned that around during his term and left a record surplus for bush the child. bush the child left with record deficits once again, the lowest job creation while in a banking system in complete collapse and an economy in meltdown. The book hasn't been written on Obama yet but I'll guarantee you that the economy will be a hell of a lot better off when he leaves office than when he started.
If you want to look at some ojbective data on the subject to educate yourself you can go here and look at all the nice tables, but this is an interesting quote from the study:
"Again, Republican Presidents seem to rack up the big debts, at least in my lifetime. Democratic Presidents tend to be "troughs" in the above graph, relative to their Republican successors and predecessors.
Seven years of G.W. Bush have accrued more total debt than eight years of Reagan, and almost twice as much as twelve years of FDR. The biggest accrued-debt-per-year figures are associated with G.W. Bush, G.H.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, FDR, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter, in that order."

jaime is helpful in reminding us why we loathe the Beltway GOP. But we kinda knew we have a problem with all the talk about forming a new party for true conservatives. One that is committed to integrity and the Constitution. But we will end up reforming the Repubs because a third party is a gift to the National Socialists (my preferred name for the Democrats). Team Obama is socialist, nationalizing, and has a strong totalitarian bent. Germany had a similar party that led to them to ruin. The Democrats need to reform even more urgently than the Republicans. A major wipeout in 2010 and 2012 might be just the thing for them. Go Sarah.

This is not such a bad thing, so long as it is publicised... and remembered when Election Day 2010 rolls around.
Because the hyper-socialists and closet-communists in Congress today will certainly over-reach themselves.
Of course, Congressional Republicans with spines - if there are any left - should not fail to point out the treacherous slide of our government into the status of a failed state via disastrous policies - which once enacted - such as the Ponzi scheme known as Social Security - are nearly impossible to repeal.

"3 years of relatively balanced federal budgets created by a Republican Congress from 1998-2001, and turn it into trillion dollar deficits."
In Bizzarofreakconservative world, either republicans didn't run government from 2001-2006, or those years never existed.

I'd be worried about stopping John Carter from speaking -- there's a longsword waiting with somebody's name on it...
