Continuing on the "real" theme, Murphy and virtually everybody else on the McCain campaign know that should Palin become the Republican nominee apparent, that they will be sitting out all of 2012. I can't imagine that she will have them on her campaign staff (except possibly after the convention as a "show of unity" thing).

So, Murph, if you're "one of McCain's biggest admirers," why did he make such an "awful choice"? What was HE thinking? What was he not thinking? How can McCain emerge from this "train wreck" with your respect intact?

It seems like the shadowy, cowardly purveyors of all the dirt on Palin (some of it semi-credible, some of it -- like the supposed independent consultations of psychological manuals -- utterly unbelievable) supply it to the Obamabots in the media on the condition that none of them blame them for their big honking "mistake."

I noticed the Iowa Republicans have invited her to the Reagan Dinner fundraiser. Iowa Republicans have lost both state houses recently and haven't controlled the governor's office in a decade (after having it for something like forty years). It certainly seems shrewd of them to latch onto Palin as their fundraising draw, because their whole apparatus is aimed at exploiting the gay marriage issue they don't have a prayer of changing. I'm sure Palin will turn the state Republican party around in Iowa like she did in Alaska.

Who told McCain to author an Amnesty Bill with Kennedy then call anyone who opposed it a bigot? I took offense to his attack. Is this Palins fault?

Who advised McCain to handicap himself with McCain Feingold which gave Obama a massive money advantage? Wasn't Sarah Palin.

Who told McCain to tell the media he didn't know anything about the economy? Sarah?? I think not.
Who told McCain to suspend his campaign and look like a fool? Sarah Palin? I doubt it.

McCain had lost me with Amnesty. Palin brought me to the voting booth.

Palin brought me, too, to the voting booth.

When McCain "suspended" his campaign, I told my kids "Watch. That means he's going to hang himself." Sure enough, he voted FOR TARP in lock-step with W's request. At that moment we all had the feeling that the game was over.

I voted for Palin at the booth. For Palin - as a message to the RNC - knowing that McCain was a loser and the election lost.

Dan's best point is saved for last: The Primaries and grass-roots are where we will build the future. That means turfing McCain and his clones.

It'd be absolutely hilarious if Sarah campaigned for Simcox next year, but let's face it, unless he gets it going DRAMATICALLY the Arizona Cardinals have a better shot of repeating as NFC champs

I truly believe she doesn't want to be associated with these losers called the GOP anyway, and when there's only a handful of sens and congressmen/women (which regrettably only SOMETIMES includes my own Cathy McMorris-Rodgers) who aren't interested in kissing Zero's ring, there's even LESS of one to. Plus, as Zero is proving daily, you can't have true change with the same old people. If she's gonna do it, she needs to set her own table, and she knew it.

Iowans might be unhappy that their God and Country festival was denied a flyover by the govt. after having it for the past 42 years. Something weird about separation of Church and State.

Mitt Romney won't get the nominee in 2012. He is done! Romney is not a true conservative. He is a liberal Democratic. And that why he lost the 2008 primary election. He didn't too well in the South. It is the mainstream liberal news media want to run because they know he can't beat Obama. If Palin doesn't run in 2012, Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota might be a good choice to run for President in 2012. He is conservative.

Don't blame me, I voted for Palin! (And whats-his-name)

So glad you posted this. I will watch out for this dude Murphy especially after clicking through to read his column. I sent $200 into the McCain campaign early on, but when Palin came on the scene I sent money every time her name was signed on a fundraising request. I ended up donating almost a grand and the most I've ever given to anyone was $250. Now when I get McCain emails, it's delete. I can't wait for Palin to start speaking tours.

I somewhat agree with this post, but it also needs to be mentioned that the McCain campaign had little or no response to a major thing that hurt them: all the lies told by various liberal sites. It also needs to be mentioned that most r/w blog weren't exactly picking up the slack. Or, if they were trying to push back they weren't doing it in an effective way.

Sarah Palin is dividing Republicans in a way I've never seen before.

Even though conservatives blame Dave Letterman or that blogger in Alaska for her problems it's really a pretty large chunk of the Republican Party that has done the most damage. Isn't there anyone else who holds her views that her supporters could get behind?

It's lights out for the GOP if Palin is the 2012 nominee.

If Willard Goodhair, the Huckster, "Jebya", or any other Republicrat runs as the GOP nominee they're fresh meat for The One Who's Never Done Anything anyways. 2008 showed (in addition to how much stupidity truly runs rampant), it's that given a choice between the liberal skyrocketing things to hell, and the liberal-lite who occasionally pays lip service to conservatives and will only advance us to hell at half-speed, the liberal will win every time, reason being, get the lib out of the way first.

We need game-changers across the board, that starts in Congress, not just the presidency. Once again, Sarah knew that. That's more important than gov at the moment.

"We need game-changers across the board, that starts in Congress, not just the presidency." MGB

H^ll, make that MGB-GT-V8!

2010... That means we must be active now, this summer, in local Republican campaigns pushing for Conservative and Libertarian candidates at Federal and State level. Join the NRA. Tea Party. Have neighbors over, rock the PTA.

Isn't there anyone else who holds her views that her supporters could get behind?

It's lights out for the GOP if Palin is the 2012 nominee.

No there was one during the primaires. His name was Fredthompson. remember him. the gop elite took him out too. using the same method. Face it. It is not the Person. It is the idea that the elites want to demolish. that of citizen consitutionally limted government. Anyone that governs and lives by those ideas will be savaged just as much as Palin and Fred were. Unless they are kooks like Ron Paul then the media and GOp will let THEM be the standard bearer of those ideas. That way to be associated with those ideas you are considered wacko. that is way they are going after Palin and that is why they went after Fred because they were not wacko. The media and elites had to make them seem so. with lies, rumors, and spin.

Hollywood actor and D.C. insider elite SENATOR Fred Thompson was taken out by the D.C. GOP insider elite because what now? You sure it absolutely nothing to do with him being a terrible candidate? That would be way too simple (and honest) of an answer.

jaime

Yes the rumor of fire in the belly came right from the GOP insidersin washington(many think it was Mitt's people). It was a meme from the first story written about him. That he was lazy. It was repeated and repeated by the media and other GOP talking heads until people believed he didn't have the "fire in the belly" and that he was lazy. It was not the dems that did it. By the time Fred kicked off his campaign the damage was done.

I wonder if Mike Murphy advised the McCain campaign put publically announce that they were abandoning Michigan? And just who wanted to keep campaigning there? Not Sen. "F--- You" McCain. No, no, no. But Gov. Palin did! And the "Smart" McCain campaign sent Gov. Palin to. . .Maine? These are the biggest bunch of losers in politics. It is hard to believe that they topped the inept Bob Dole campaign of 1996. But, Team McCain does!

Mitt Romney has a record of good economic sense and he seems to be the front runner by default if Sarah is absent. But few will drive across town to see him, much less cross a state line or two, as we will for Sarah. Palin has the fire in the belly, not for herself, but for the USA. I don't see anyone else who can rally the country after the Obama disaster and inspire us to gear down and undo the damage done by the National Socialists. The media will squeal but they lose more credibility every time they smear her. Like that Yankee soldier said of Grant when they marched south after being mauled by Lee in The Wildernes, Sarah Palin "don't scare worth a damn." Just give her a little room and look out. Quitting the State House early will be widely counted as smart before very long. Sarah 2012.

Mike Murphy is Stage 10 - Palin Drunk - Bullet Proof.

Murphy and Noonan have been collecting MSNBC checks longer than Maddow and Big Ed - hacks.

Drunken Hacks.
