Evidently Letterman was just getting started and needed to use a Palin child for another sexual joke again last night. Obviously the Right's frustration and anger have to do with being out of power. But I sense people are really fed up with being called racists, homophobes and a variety of other names for simply expressing a political thought, while the prominent people on their own side and even their children are fair game for this garbage. It's getting to be too much.

Letterman's joke had NOTHING to do with rape - the term was "knocked up" and being knocked up is NOT a rape scenario. The joke had to do with Palin's daughter, who was knocked up... in Todd Palin's home, where Todd Palin let a guy sleep with his underage daughter. Don't blame this on Letterman, Todd. You are the person who provided the premises for your daughter to get knocked up.

A very nice lady took my message, which was that I found it not acceptable for David Letterman to make a joke about the rape of Sarah Palin's 14 year old daughter. If you want to make up some faux offended nonsense scenario that Letterman was not referencing the fact that pro-abstinnce Sarah's daughter WAS knocked up but instead that ARod had sex with a 14 year old, you can keep up with your conspiracy theories on the evil political intent of David Letterman.

On my other point, Bristol was most probably knocked up in Sarah's house. If you think that is so disgusting, why are you not mad at Sarah Palin? Bristol's former knockupper/fiance and his family said several times that he lived in the Palin home. Bristol never denied this. The only controversy over this was when Sarah and Todd sent the attack dogs after Truck, or whatever his name is.

NO ONE in America knew that Willow was at the game. (Indeed, that may not be true.) The context that Americans do KNOW is that pro abstinence Sarah Palin allowed her underage unmarried daughter to be knocked up. The joke plays on her poor parenting in suggesting that she allowed ANOTHER underage, unmarried daughter to be impregnated.

letterman's joke could/would only be considered humorous if he was referencing bristol -
and he obviously was. and it could be argued it was in poor taste.
but there was no suggestion in letterman's joke about 'raping' anyone.
so what this means is that the palins are either cynical opportunists or just plain very dumb.
it's just unreal that they would think to suggest the rape of their 14 year old daughter as a component to this in any way.
please, someone somewhere call them out on that.

I expect the wharbal garbal about rape and the like to continue. One cannot say anything mean about Saint Sarah the Blessed without some of you freaking out.

It was a poor joke directed at a young woman who made a mistake (despite the "outrage" you seem to gin up it was most likely bout Bristol not Willow). Letterman shouldn't have made it and he has now admitted that fact. At least he has the balls to do that - unlike some other entertainers we know (and at least in my case, used to like).
