Sarah Palin certainly is hitting all the right notes. And despite the critics, she has that unlearnable something most politicians crave - charisma.
It'll be interesting to watch her - not sure of she wants to run for POTUS, or if she's thinking 2012, or 2016. She's young enough to have plenty of options. Video at link.
We never need to fear that though we're not a perfect nation, that we must apologize for being proud of ourselves.
As things stand, Isuspect Palin will be around Republican politics for quite some time. And I think that's a good thing.

20,000 people showed up to see her in Auburn, New York.

Lately, very quietly, she's made a sound pronouncments like:
1) In a time of rising gasoline prices, why are we not drilling and refining our own oil, which not only would bring down the price but also create many good paying jobs for Americans?
2) At a time when North Korea and Iran are building and testing nuclear bombs and long range missiles, why has Dear Leader Hussein cut funding for defenses, especially missile defense systems?
I begin to like this plucky gal from Alaska more and more.....

EVERY time I get a letter from the RNC asking for money ...I give a few (more) bucks to SarahPAC.
Of those who ran in the last election, whose is the light that is shining brighter ...

"As things stand, Isuspect Palin will be around Republican politics for quite some time. And I think that's a good thing."
As a Democrat, I think that's a good thing too. She already singlehandedly tipped the balance of one presidential election in our favor; maybe she's not done yet.

Bob, please stop masturbating and at least try to get a job. I know it's tough to do during the big earred monkey-boy's recession but I hear Burger King is hiring........
Barry our mooooslim monkey-boy is a goin down........why?
Well, first he's anti-American and second he's a moooooslim.
And lastly, he just might not be born in Hawaii, otherwise why would he spend nearly a million dollars to keep his birth and college records private? Hmmm......
Go Sarah Go!

I would like to see her more in a REAL application of the National Organization for Women I as a woman find her life to be exactly what women need to recognize as being the story you want to tell your daughters. She is a self made woman and she did it with her family and most importantly her husband by her side. NOW would have you believe that men are the enemy of women when the reality is they are your partner and best friend and your greatest booster as you make your way in the world to be whatever you choose to be however all of that makes her a wonderful female candidate for President as well. I certainly loved the way she has made NOW irrelevent and shown them to be the liberal tools they always were and she did it with grace and dignity which is the true picture of a woman comfortable in her own skin (no self-hate in her at all).

Dan,
First we get a jerk-off post from "Bob", then the follow-up from "jpp" *pretending* to be a Palin supporter.
Their crapping on your comments is getting tedious. [Hell, why not cross-check jpp's IP? Bet you a beer I'm right.]
As for Palin... Whether she's running or not, she's shifting the standard for Republican nominees. If the RNC closes the Republican primaries, there is little chance that they'd elect someone much to the left of Palin. If she runs, I'll certainly supporter as far as possible, because her presence will terminate the likes of Rudy in double-time.

Pleae, please, please, run Ms. Palin. She writes great material for Tina Fey.
Posted by: Nishner | Sunday, June 07, 2009 at 04:41 PM
Don't worry, Nishner; Palin will run again.
Unfortunately, the problem is that this time, people will have realized that media members like Tina Fey are nothing more than cultish propagandizers who worship Obama as God and will do anything to support the Obama Party.

That which the media created, the media can also destroy. The entertaining part will be in watching how much of the media itself is destroyed in the upcoming civil wars between the Obama true believers and those who are trying to save some shred of credibility for themselves.

"Their crapping on your comments is getting tedious. [Hell, why not cross-check jpp's IP? Bet you a beer I'm right.]"
Hey, Ran, show some courage in your convictions. Why bet just a beer? Bet your whole damned HOUSE. I think maybe you owe an apology to JadedByPolitics, that fellow Palin admirer that you just insulted. She's probably really pissed that someone accused her of being a liberal.
Besides, I'm not "crapping on" anyone. I actually appreciate Dan for hosting this site. I enjoy sparring with other commenters, and try to be fact-based as much as possible. For example, the proposition that Sarah Palin is actually a boon to the Republican Party is, based on polls and by her performance in the '08 election, highly questionable. It might really be true that she's a polarizing figure who would present the same kind of dilemma for Republicans as Republicans used to hope that Hillary Clinton presented for the Democrats. In other words, she might be good at energizing the dwindling Republican base, while driving away all the moderates. Is that what you want?

Bob ....McCain tipped the election. Most people voted for Palin. She'll kick your communist organizer to the curb. Hopefully we'll have some country left to save after this disaster. Actually I know you don't wish her any good so go on....
Posted by: nina | Sunday, June 07, 2009 at 10:03 PM
nina, by election day 2008, McCain's favorability rating was around 55% while Palin's was somewhere around 46%. And her UNfavorability rating was OVER 50%, which is extraordinarily high. So how do you say that McCain tipped the election when he was, by any measure, viewed more favorably than Palin?
Posted by: Bob | Monday, June 08, 2009 at 01:33 AM
Bob - lacking a cite for your stats, I'm going to assume those ratings were among all polled, not just among "independents" or conservatives, or people leaning towards voting for a GOP candidate. Having said that, what difference does it make what the GOP candidate's favorability rating is among Democrats?
Given that the country was obviously leaning left in 2008, wouldn't it be a good thing (from a conservative viewpoint) that Palin was more disliked than McCain? That would seem to indicate that the left didn't like her, which is fine by me. McCain never had much of a shot anyway, I'm guessing the only reason he did as well as he did was because of the addition of Palin. So keep ignoring/insulting her/attacking her, it only betrays the liberal fear of a truly effective, truly conservative woman.

"Pleae, please, please, run Ms. Palin"
Careful what you wish for troll!
And it's not Ms. Palin it's simply Sarah!!
I would be keeping an eye on others in the conservative movement as well like Tim Pawlenty and Bobby Jindal. Both of these popular governors, like Sarah, have proven track records unlike Xerxes and will help re-energise the conservative base in 2010 and 2012.

I'm hoping we get a few more hundred thousand more folks like Ron Paul or Chuck Baldwin-like ideas to start bringing this nation back to its Constitutional moorings.
