Donald Douglas has a round-up of reactions to Obama's speech. He said he liked my Ich bin ein Muslim headline.
The problem is, when Kennedy made his speech, the communists were the oppressors of a portion of the world. In Obama's worldview, it seems to be America, now.
Whatever happens in 2012, I can tell you this - the Right's opposition to Obama is going to be off the charts.

they'll get the house back in 2010, but not the presidency in 2012.
by that time the gop house will have been there two years and "screwed everything up", according to the libs/msm.
he does seem a lot like carter, though...

Someone took a count. It bothers me that he says "I" so much.
There are 61 instances of 'I' in the speech.
Also 18 cases of 'my'.
20 instances of 'our' referring to the USA.
48 instances of 'our' referring to the USA along with the Muslim nations collectively.

Many in the religious Left in America are patriots but Christians and Jews first and foremost... Obama's apology tours have got to be causing them a lot of unease. I don't think it's just the Right about ready to pin-the-needle on the anger gauge in '12.
The hostility, impatience, lawlessness and utter contempt O-Oh and his cadre have displayed isn't playing well with anyone except O-Oh's inner circle of friends and media.
By the way, Dan... that "Ich bin ein Muslim" line is worthy of Treacher. [That, sir, is a compliment.]

Dan is always Treacher worthy

I know that the people in the area where I live are for the most dems. However based on the comments most have been making, they are not at all pleased with Obama. Let's just hope we can get some true conseratives out there, who are worthy of being in office. The likes of crist won't do.

Off. The. Frickin'. Charts.

You seriously believe Obama thinks USA is the major oppressor in the world?
Yup, because Obama says we are.
It's not our fault you voted for an idiot. You should have gotten some clue about how Oblahblah thinks when he was walking around talking about how his church praises Hamas for its "humanitarian" efforts and how he claps and cheers for Jeremiah "God damn America" Wright.
But of course, you were too busy convincing yourself that voting based on skin color was what was important.

If Obama is another Carter, then it is up to the Republicans to field another Reagan. Doubt they can.

"You seriously believe Obama thinks USA is the major oppressor in the world? What freaking speech do you watch?"
no. he believes israel is #1, the us, #2.
has he stated his list?
"As sullivan said, you are un-serious."
funny...as un-serious as a guy who obsessed, incorrectly, over the maternity of a down's kid?
if you want to be taken seriously, yourself, lol, find a more reasonable person.
"fields of imaginary strawmen"
didn't the nyt call obama on his own 'strawmen'?

"-- It's not our fault you voted for an idiot. You should have gotten some clue about how Oblahblah thinks when he was walking around talking about how his church praises Hamas for its "humanitarian" efforts and how he claps and cheers for Jeremiah "God damn America" Wright. --"
Yawn. Keep banging that drum NDT.
Obama is so clever that he's tricked well over half the country. But he's still really stupid. Obama is SO stupid that he's refusing to launch air strikes against Tehran in a Real American effort to stop the nation from developing a nuke, like the one North Korea developed under Bush's watch. Instead, he's trying to engage the Iranians diplomatically - something that has NEVER worked before, as evidenced by the extensive diplomatic efforts put forward by the previous four administrations.
Bush had done such a masterful job at containing the Iranian nuclear program that Tehran was only able to put several thousand centrifuges into production since the Iraq Invasion in '03. And now Obama is going to ruin all Bush's hard work by attempting to broker a peace deal.
If Obama fails, Iran will certainly detonate a nuclear weapon inside a country sharing a border with half a dozen of its own allies. If Obama succeeds, we'll just be setting ourselves up for another Iraq War, with the Ayatollah developing secret WMDs in much the same manner as Saddam Hussien did in '01 and '02 before we were forced to invade his country.
You better just hope America elects a true American Hero to save us before then, either way. Because, as it stands now, everyone is just collectively too stupid to see the future through the magic crystal ball you shove up your bum every night.
"-- didn't the nyt call obama on his own 'strawmen'? --"
Maybe? Do you have a link to what you are talking about?

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/24/us/politics/24straw.html?_r=1&hpw
don't obsess over the details. its politics. both sides do it. still, it is funny to hear the dems complain about it for years, and ignore it when they do it themselves.
"Obama is SO stupid that he's refusing to launch air strikes against Tehran in a Real American effort to stop the nation from developing a nuke, like the one North Korea developed under Bush's watch."
he was so resistant to the democratic plan to deal with nk...
can you refresh me on the plan?

Obama is so clever that he's tricked well over half the country.
No, he's not clever. He just flat-out lies constantly, as was stated by Jeremiah Wright when he said that Obama says or does whatever he needs to do to get elected.
Americans are trusting people by nature, and when liberals and the media spread the brainwashing that Obama would never lie because he's black, it makes matters even worse. Fortunately, more and more Americans are realizing that Jeremiah Wright was telling the truth about Obama.
"Instead, he's trying to engage the Iranians diplomatically - something that has NEVER worked before, as evidenced by the extensive diplomatic efforts put forward by the previous four administrations."
They knew better.
Obama's "outreach" and appeasement of a Holocaust denier and Jew-hater shouldn't surprise anyone. After all, isn't Louis Farrakhan a pillar of the Obama Party and one of Obama's most fervent worshipers?
If Obama fails, Iran will certainly detonate a nuclear weapon inside a country sharing a border with half a dozen of its own allies.
Allies? You really believe that Iran considers any of those countries allies? The only thing that unites them in any way is a hatred of Israel. Iran would be more than willing to sacrifice a few hundred thousand Palestinians for the opportunity to destroy six million more Jews.

LOL asked this question -
"again, can any of you link where obama said that the usa was the major oppressor in the world?"
I have a question. Who on this board said that Obama said the usa was the major oppressor in the world? I can't find it. And I don't feel like reading all the comments again.
Posted by: lala | Saturday, June 06, 2009 at 07:41 AM
LOL, (the most illiterate) where does it say "MAJOR OPPRESSOR IN THE WORLD?"
Posted by: lala | Sunday, June 07, 2009 at 09:30 AM
Lol. You can read but you are functionally illiterate. When challenged you react like the child you are.
