Some long-time Toledo, Ohio residents are upset to discover they are now being ticketed for how they park in their driveways. I'm no lawyer, but is this a private driveway, or a public turn-around? They describe it as both. I would think that without some specific rights assignments in the original home deeds, this would be an infringement on private property rights - assuming there is truly still such a thing in America, anymore. One thing is certain, the government needs the money and they will find a way to get it. Watch your wallets, folks.
"I've lived here 43 years and last Thursday we had our 44th wedding anniversary," said Charles Robertson, who received a parking violation. "I got a present from the city. Isn't that nice?"
Residents' vehicles were parked on a turn-around portion of their driveway in front of their property, something they need to safely get out of their drive on Holland-Sylvania, which, at times, can be busy.
"The Commissioner of Streets, Bridges and Harbor responded by going to the location of the complaint to assess whether it was valid or not," Robson said in the statement. "She personally observed that it was a valid complaint. She observed several illegally parked vehicles along the first street she visited."
"While there, a neighbor asked her to check out his street, which also had a number of illegally parked vehicles. Once she observed they too were illegally parked, she cited them as well. The City of Toledo supports its laws in general and illegally parked vehicles can and will be ticketed, and these tickets are considered valid."
The city fined residents $25.

I am planning my move out of NYC Serfdom; I am avoiding the entire NE quadrant along with Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Nevada and California.
Let the Serfs suffer in their self-imposed misery, I getting the hell away from them.

Sadly, I'd exclude the entirety of Ohio. While the southwest corner is reliably conservative, there's nothing it can do to stop the onslaught of idiocy from Columbus and Cleveland.

SE Ohio is a great place, poor as poor can be, but the people are nice and the landscape is beautiful. Ohio, unfortunately, is lurching left as we get all the debris and refuse from the NE. Liberalism is a malignant cancer and Ohio is going terminal. Look out midwest, it's spreading.
