Connected to this story:

Eldie Acheson is an abnormal fruit (and Hillary Rodham roommate) from a toxic shoot:

Dean Acheson was the evil genius who concretized the colossal, seditious stupidity ("Doctrine of Containment") of another evil genius, George F. Kennan, by drawing a line across the 38th Parallel in Korea and then again across his "Demilitarized Zone" in Vietnam.

Dean occupied DOS's Far Eastern Desk before and during the battle against Soviet effort (with, sequentially, North Korean and Chinese proxy) to turn the right or northern flank of the western US defensive littoral. He was SECDOS during the battle against Soviet effort (with Vietnamese proxy and Chinese logistical support) to turn the left or southern flank of the western US defensive littoral. The US defensive littoral at the time and during the Cold War, and for all I know continuing, was the east coast of Asia.

(Since the current administration has recast US solidarity as with the axis Beijing, Caracas, La Paz, Hamas, Hizbollah, Qom, I do not know whether the east coast of Asia is still considered the western US defensive littoral, or at least whether the clique in the White House considers it so.)

Dean was a Fabian Communist (progenitors of modern "PostModern" Utopians) of the sort brought in large numbers from Harvard and other Ivy League schools to federal service by President Roosevelt.

Eldie fits right in there as a sort of bellwether of that now-ancient movement's success on the modern stage.
