Oh geez. Tragic. You can read more than you'll want to of this sad, vile loon in his own words here.
A gunman armed with a shotgun walked into the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in downtown Washington today and opened fire on a security guard before being shot and seriously wounded by two other guards, authorities said.
From second link - much more there:
Character Shaper No. 1:
Buddy B. was a loose cannon. He was ten and I was seven. I remember his tattered tennis shoes, Keds. His father had cut the toes out of them to accommodate Buddy’s growing feet. Those were depression years. Mason Elementary School had a dirt and sand playground, divided down the middle with a wrought-iron picket fence. Girls on one side, boys of the other. At recess Buddy would go on both sides raising hell, pushing people around, pulling the girls’ pigtails. He was bigger than everyone else. One day he went berserk running around the boys’ playground kicking and stomping on marbles the little kids were playing with. I went up to him and told him to stop it or else. The “else” was that he challenged me to meet him after school at the dueling grounds. He was a head taller than I and much heavier and stronger. All the kids had been alerted. We went down to the narrow, concrete alley, lined by rickety back-yard fences. This is nuts, I thought. Why didn’t he just admit he was wrong. You’re gonna get beat bad, Helen, told me. Everyone was patting Buddy on the back. Go get him Buddy. He was smiling, sure, cocky. He said whatdya want, fists or wrestling. I could feel my stomach tighten. Whatever you say. Wrestle, he said, I wanna strangle you to death. We grappled and rolled around. But he couldn’t hold me down and I couldn’t do anything with him. His face got beet red, he was screaming cuss words at me. Get him Buddy. Then he started punching. I was on my back, he on top. I could see his elbows were scraped and bleeding. He sat on my chest, grabbed my head and beat it into the concrete - again and again. Stop ! Helen screamed, far away, dimly. I went woozy and woke up on a couch at my house. Tears rolled down Buddy’s face. DON’t DIE, Don’t die, he pleaded. My nose was bleeding and my shirt was soaked in blood. I got up. I’m OK said I, weakly. But you were wrong to kick the marbles. I wuz, said Buddy B. Helen took Buddy’s hand and they departed. A pal of mine said, you sure showed him.MORAL: It’s better to be strong than right — unless you like dying. Crowds hate good guys.

I hope they very carefully withhold pain killers from the shooter.

How DARE the Dept. of Homeland Security put out two reports (one for the right and one for the left) on domestic terrorism commissioned by George W Bush that state that a bad economy, a black president, with entire right wing out of power, would drive some nuts to extreme acts of violence.
That would NEVER happen (twice in a week) in America. Why are you attacking our troops?!?!?!
Posted by: jaime | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 03:50 PM
Now this idiot is claiming the shooter was a right winger? jaime, please find out the facts before you make a fool of yourself next time. Here is the shooter in his own words:
"The biggest sleight-of-hand trick ever, was the establishment of ROTHSCHILD central-banks. The ILLUMINATI gets a piece of every citizen’s earnings. Nations pay JEWS for the use of their own (Nation’s) money. it’s similar to the KOSHER TAX ON MUCH OF THE FOOD YOU BUY. It doesn’t matter that you despise JEWS-NEOCONS-BILL O’REILLY you pay the tax - or else you don’t eat. Hillary, Obama, McCain, Ruppert Murdoch don’t mind paying the Kosher tax, why should you care ."

I wonder if the intellectually vacant jaime will now apologize for lying?
All we know for sure is he's some kind of conspiracy nut.

A couple more quotes for the shooter
‘The interests behind the Bush Administration, such as the CFR, The Trilateral Commission - founded by Brzezinski for David Rockefeller - and the Bilderberger Group, have prepared for and are now moving to implement open world dictatorship within the next five years. They are not fighting against terrorists. They are fighting against citizens.’ — Dr. Johannes B. Koeppl, Ph.D., former German defense ministry official and advisor to former NATO Secretary General Manfred Woerner
‘You can fool some of the people all of the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on.’ — George W. Bush
‘Sarah, if the American people had ever known the truth about what we Bushs have done to this nation, we would be chased down in the streets and lynched.’ George Bush Sr. 1992
Oh yeah jaime, some right winger that dude is eh? Not only is he a conspiracy nut he appears to be a hard left kook as well.

I know you try really hard to convince everyone that communists and Nazis are the same thing and that Socialism and Marxism are interchangable, but this guy was had his writings were cited in Stormfront and wrote "Where's the Birth Certificate" screeds that appeared on Freerepublic (the post has magically disappeared). The right wing ate up his garbage.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're being willfully dense and are not actually this tremendously stupid.
Posted by: jaime | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 05:10 PM
Excuse me, I meant "National Socialism and Marxism."
Posted by: jaime | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 05:11 PM
I just proved you a liar and that's all you got? How sad and pathetic!
Posted by: Capitalist Infidel | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 05:12 PM
None of what you posted in anyway points towards a 'hard left kook'. In fact, that's the kind of stuff you can find on all of the Alex Jones/Troofer sites. Alex Jones of course being a rightwing conspiracy theorist who has his roots in the 1990s rightwing patriot movement.
Posted by: Kyle Menig | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 05:21 PM
Yeah, the Alex Jones who was screaming down your buddy Michelle Malkin during a rally, Kyle. Give me a break. Oh wait, you're a Liberal - obviously you've been sending mail bombs to scientists and corporate heads for years because you want to save the trees. I knew it. I better call the police.
Freaking idiot.

FreeRepublic poster response to DailyKos claim (and wasn't there a discussion here from some wacky Norwegian?)
"DailKos going nuts saying FR trying to cover up a crime...
FreeRepublic pulls thread from December praising James von Brunn
Probably not a good move to pull such a thread. Folks will assume it was Freepers agreeing with and amplifying von Brunn's rascist and anti-Semitic views. Otherwise, why pull it?
A look in the cache shows it was actually a post to a Norwegian discussion forum, in which someone signing himself as James W. von Brunn points out our egregious lack of knowledge about Obama's background. There is nothing in it that would tie back to the themes of von Brunn's vile website.
Freeper wannabegeek started a thread to discuss von Brunn's article. What follows is a totally normal FR thread with comments like "It irked me how the left was snickering about McCain being 894th in his class of 899, but 0bambi never released his records for scrutiny."
What's the harm in discussing the time of day when a stopped clock happens to get it right?"

What a bizzaro alternate reality these liberals must live in. Here I am proving that the shooter has much more in common with the hard left than he does the hard right and liberals pretend it's not true. It's right there in black and white. Can someone explain that kind of reality denying to me?
Posted by: Capitalist Infidel | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 05:54 PM
Maybe the shooter attended Rev. Wright's church?
Posted by: lala | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 05:55 PM
FreeRepublic put the thread back up -

Turns out the guy was a white supremacist, and a 9/11 truther. No surprise to find both in the same person. What does this confirm? Not a whole lot, except for:
1. Both white supremacists and 9/11 truthers are comprised primarily of lunatics.
2. Some lunatics are more dangerous than others.
3. If you go far enough out either the right or left wing, you find the two wings eventually meet up.

Dan...You can try as hard as you want to, but Alex Jones is rightwing. He hates both the people on the left and the right. I think he believes its one big charade with the running the show. Their whole thing is that the whole left vs. right paradigm is fake and the real people in power are Rockefeller, etc.
And keep calling me names, Dan. You sure are mature. Also, as we can see more proof coming to light about this shooter, we see that he was a frequent poster on FreeRepublic and Stormfront.
Please don't insult my stupidity and tell me that a man who frequently posted on FreeRepublic and made posts about Obama's birth certificate being fake is some sort of left wing kook.

He never posted on freerepublic unless he used an alias.
Posted by: lala | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 06:58 PM
"wannabegeek" posted what James W. von Brunn posted on the Nowegian Forum -
von Brunn himself did not post it on freerepublic

I won't allow any comments that mention both violence and the guy in the WH to stand. I have no desire to get on the Secret Service's reading list.

*insult my intelligence*
I walked into that one. lol.

Kyle, he disliked Bush as much as Obama. It isn't the Right who is refusing to accept the reality of it.

How's this?
"Asked if he had spoken to the president, Wright said: "Them Jews aren't going to let him talk to me. I told my baby daughter, that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office. ..."

Help me out guys because I am thinking that these three horrible murders may have been prevented.
-Von Brunn was clearly a racist who blamed Jews and blacks for something and immigrants for crimes against him and other white people. The immigration issues are the same ones pushed by the Republican party (minus McCain) including ex republican presidential candidates, Tom Tancredo and Mitt Romney. He also was a conspiracy theorist who believed in a 9/11 conspiracy, a banking conspiracy and the "birther" conspiracy currently being pushed by two Republican congressman. (While it is an interesting theory claiming that a white racist was really a liberal for believing in a 9/11 conspiracy, I think without any connection between the 9/11 conspiracy and any Democrat or non fringe liberal political positions, that theory remains simply another loony, bipartisan conspiracy.)
-Then you have Roeder, who I think we can agree was a right wing religious extremist.
-Then you have the Carlos dude, an American citizen who shot the U.S. marine. A religious extremist.
All of these murders occurred in the last two weeks. All by domestic right wing and/or religious extremists.
Many Republicans savaged the DHS for its report that right wing, and/or religious extremists were poised to commit horrible acts of violence. The Report was spot on. The only questions is whether the Republican leaders' criticisms led the DHS to slow down its efforts to prevent such hate crimes. Should these Republican leaders recant their criticisms so that we do not face more murders or even another Oklahoma City?

I think the Rev. Wright spurred him on.

"Help me out guys because I am thinking that these three horrible murders may have been prevented."
Is anyone else amused by the same Obama Party leftists who scream that wiretapping, spying on, imprisoning, and interrogating al-Qaeda terrorists doesn't stop terrorism suddenly reversing and arguing that doing those things to all Christians and white people would?
Posted by: North Dallas Thirty | Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 01:42 AM
Yes, Wally. Those Islamist religious terrorists have to be watched. I'm glad the left is finally realizing this, that Islam is an extremist religion.
Posted by: lala | Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 07:30 AM
Newsflash:
"Christian Identity" is not Bible-based Christianity. It is a pseudo-christian cult centered around white nationalism.
It is the cult of Tim McVeigh and likely this von Brunn murderer and those other misguided fools who think that Jews, Blacks, and Latinos are the problem.
The problem is with the white socialist elites who are so full of hatred for everybody not of their tribe (i.e. wealthy liberals) that they'd gladly see us all at each others throats so that they do not have to lift a finger to exterminate a large segment of the human population to bring us into submission to them.

"Dan...You can try as hard as you want to, but Alex Jones is rightwing. He hates both the people on the left and the right."
say what?
Posted by: mark l. | Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 02:13 PM
Dallas and lala: Is there any actual support for your contentions? Please link to a a progressive statement said that different investigative techniques should be used on the various religious hate groups. What progressives say and have done, is to investigate ALL religious hate groups, including muslim and white supremecist Christian cults. Do you find this objectionable? The Repubican party certainly did when they slowed down DHS.
lala: You seem to think there is a difference between murders committed by white "christian" religious extremists and "muslim" religious extremists. For me there is none. Could you explain why the equal threat of one merits more attention than the other?
