Call me slutty, but don't call me a media whore for Obama. I'll shut off your mic. Heh! With video - watch her squirm. Contessa Brewer's take? People call me a slut, what's the big deal? The journo market must be tough for a gal to have to take their money for this. Hey, doesn't that make her a ... nevermind!
Radio talk show host John Ziegler appeared on MSNBC to discuss his interview with Gov. Sarah Palin, in which she responds to a verbal attack from "Late Show" host David Letterman. Ziegler hit MSNBC for it's pro-Obama bias, causing the ire of MSNBC'er Contessa Brewer. Brewer, a woman, did not seem to be offended by Letterman's "slutty" remark.
At the end of the interview, Brewer was so agitated with Ziegler that she requested his microphone be turned off.
UPDATE: John Ziegler tells Real Clear Politics that MSNBC played a trick on him right before he was set to go on air. Ziegler was originally supposed to be interviewed by Norah O'Donnell, an anchor he has had dust-ups with in the past.

someone is going to break...
when they write the book about msnbc it is going to be a page turner.
i caught the ziegler/brewer dust-up on limbaugh.
o'donnell taking a pass on having to do the interview?
fear and loathing. She knew that the interviewer would be subjected to being called a slut, becuase that is there only defense.
seriously, if palin reminds letterman of a slutty stewardess, then I'm sure msnbc would not find a comparison between michelle obama and a transgender prostitute to be all that insulting.

If you want to see irony in action, watch as the “tingle up the leg” and the “Obama is sort of like God” network challenge John Ziegler on his credibility. Contessa Brewer doesn't want to actually talk about the subject ...

"No wonder America doesn't trust you yahoos to run the country."
i didn't realize that this blog was running the country from 02-06...

I wasn't aware anyone was supposed to "run" the country. I thought we were a nation of free people.

"6 posts in 24 hours about Letterman's joke. None about healthcare. 1 about the economy. None about foreign policy. Some priorities."
Letterman's "joke" makes it clear what the Obama Party's priorities are. Riehl is simply commenting on what Obama thinks is most important, which is making remarks about Sarah Palin's children being raped.

Ah, my little liberal comment sluts. Aren't they cute? And they put out with the consistency of an old Times Square hooker and have just about as much intelligence as one, too.
Cue liberals to defend old hookers. How dare you attack wimmens and victims of capitalist society, Sir!

Whoa, whoa, Jaime. Are you suggesting that political bloggers should focus on the worst recession in 70 years, two wars being waged by our government on foreign soil, and the fact that American businesses are dropping like flies due to healthcare costs? And you are seriously arguing to Mark and Rob that these things are more important than a late night comedian's joke about Governor Palin's underage daughter being knocked up in 2008?

I'd never heard of this Ziegler fellow. He was pretty impressive, relentless but with a smile. Contessa really ended up in a snit, didn't she?
Posted by: spongeworthy | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 04:27 PM
"oh wait. He's never had ...."
LOL - just because your mother lets you keep that old Olivia Newton John poster up in your basement, I keep telling you, it is NOT a successful relationship you're in there.
Posted by: Dan Riehl | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 04:42 PM
"Contessa really ended up in a snit, didn't she?"
Yeah. I'm thinking O'Donnell bailed when she couldn't handle him before and Contessa was wired from the jump. She tried to assert control right from the start but he was just rolling right over her. Obviously they wanted him, but Palin was the target. She wanted him to say Sarah's feelings were hurt - whch he wouldn't do. Fact is, that was another sexist play - feelings hurt = weak. She went in with an agenda and got turned. Pretty sweet.

From last October where Mr. Riehl makes fun of the possibility of Obama being molested as a child:
http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2008/10/define-lasting.html
_______
Okay, to summarize - from the time he was a child until he was a young man, I guess, Barack Obama drank whiskey, wrote dirty limericks, read poetry and, um, was counseled by a sexual deviant, child molester, rapist of children? That about cover it? And in his book he said it had a lasting effect on him? Damn. That could actually be very sad.
That may be worse than his having been counseled by Jeremiah Wright.
No wonder he says "Pakit-stan" in that funny way of his! heh!
______
Us liberal commenter sluts love your inconsistency, big guy.

Posted by: Kyle Menig | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 05:27 PM
Yeah, Kyle, because an adult male who was a Senator at the time and is now in the WH needs protecting from my humor. The fact is, I never really went off on the airline stewardess joke - it didn't bother me all that much. This got posted because of MSNBC and Letterman items because of Palin's kids being inappropriately attacked in a sick way.
Posted by: Dan Riehl | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 05:43 PM
Dan...a joke about child molestation is a joke about child molestation, no matter who it is you're joking about. I know it's your site and all, but stop acting so troll-ish.
lol.
Posted by: Kyle Menig | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 07:00 PM
Yeah, right, Kyle. LMAO Last I checked, a joke about a 14 yr old getting "knocked up" by an adult qualifies as child molestation. Ironic you have no issue with it given your remark. Could you be any more exposed here???
Duh!
Posted by: Dan Riehl | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 07:44 PM
And your joke, the one I listed above, has do do with Obama being molested while he was a child.
You know you're being inconsistent. You're outraged over a joke about child molestation because the person being joked about is someone you support. However, when it's someone you don't support, not only do you laugh at the joke, you're the one whose actually telling it.
Can you explain your inconsistency? Or, will you just simply resort to calling me more names and pretend that you're not being inconsistent?
Posted by: Kyle Menig | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 08:05 PM
And to answer your assertion that I'm being 'exposed':
Hardly. I couldn't care less about the joke or Letterman himself. I hardly ever watch his show considering my bed time is much earlier in the night. If you care, I watched the clip and didn't even laugh. It's not that I was offended, I just didn't think it was that funny. My only issues with all of this is the faux-outrage that I'm seeing coming from you and others. Well, faux-outrage as well as the inconsistency I've found from you here.
Posted by: Kyle Menig | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 08:10 PM
"my bed time is much earlier"
Your ma uses one of those computer security timers on ya, huh, Kyle? Nighty, night. Maybe now that school's out she'll let you stay andplay a bit longer.
I can't wait until you actually learn how to read at a 6th grade level.
It isn't the joke, moron. It's who it was directed at - an adult man, or a 14 yr old girl. I realize that, like yourself, you think one is an adult at 14. It just isn't the case.
Posted by: Dan Riehl | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 08:28 PM
"...a joke about child molestation is a joke about child molestation"
done.
what is white and goes up and down in a crib?
A: a child molester's hips.
Posted by: mark l. | Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 09:16 PM
Dan-
Stop proving to me and everyone else that you're skilled in the art of childish insults. We get it. You don't need to insult me in every post.
I'll go back to my main point: a joke about child molestation is a joke about child molestation. You can try and argue that it's somehow different because of who it's directed at, but you're wrong. Just because you're directing your joke at a grown man doesn't excuse the point that you're still getting a good laugh out of child molestation and how a person who was molested as a child would act as an adult. That's pretty sick, man.
I'd appreciate a response where you don't resort to insults and name callng; I won't hold my breath.

Dan,
Do you ever actually answer valid criticisms or do you just throw out grade school insults? You show yourself to be a truly poor debater with those tactics.
