The folks at CNET are wonderng how the folks at CNN managed to lose their map of the Middle-east just as Iran is melting down. The issue actually began on Twitter when someone created the #CNNFail hashtag due to the lack of coverage on CNN of developments in Iran.
It's almost as if the Obama administration isn't facing an International crisis said to be bad for its planned approach to Iran. Perhaps CNN will lose track of the Korean peninsula soon, too - given NorKor's decision to weaponize their plutonium. Or, maybe they've decided to become the all good news network all the time to help America through troubled economic times? h/t Lala from comments.
While word of riots in the streets of Tehran spread like wildfire on Twitter, CNN stayed largely silent on the story, surprising and dismaying many.

As the Iranian election aftermath unfolded in Tehran--thousands of demonstrators took to the streets to protest their anger at perceived electoral irregularities--an unexpected hashtag began to explode through the Twitterverse: "CNNFail."Even as Twitter became the best source for rapid fire news developments from the front lines of the riots in Tehran, a growing number of users of the microblogging service were incredulous at the near total lack of coverage of the story on CNN, a network that cut its teeth with on-the-spot reporting from the Middle East.

That's why CNN stands for Crappy News Network.
And, I might add, is getting their plow cleaned by Fox.

Not hard to figure out why CNN is eyeless and clueless on Iran. Christiane Amanpour wants to preserve her access to the autocratic theocrats and doesn't want her colleagues at CNN to undermine her own personal career. And the clueless eff-up named J. Klein running the CNN third-rate operation goes along with his Iranian "expert" in ignoring what might be a huge story. The fact that the so-called "Election Commission" gave Ahmadinnerjacket a 50% victory in Tabriz, capital of Azeri Iran [Moussavi is an Azeri] shows that these anti-democratic functionaries don't even know how to steal an election!

Same CNN that cut a deal with Sadam to censor its own reporting in order to retain its bureau office in Baghdad. I gave up on CNN a decade ago as a purely agenda driven commentary network pretending to be a news network.

Come on, these information Commissars have already told us that "It isn't news until they decide it is".
CNN will eventually report on this, judging on the time it took them to report on the Breck girls affair and illegitimate child and Obama's ACORN ties, it will probably be 5 months from now.

I read that the state tv in Iran has just been showing movies all yesterday and today...and not taling at all about the goins-on in Tehran or elsewhere. Maybe CNN can take a clue and just do the same thing.....after all, no news is good news....

Haven't they already been non-reporting the news, I always see stories on Fox, Newsmax or Drudge then search them in CNN or MSNBC and hmm they are surprisingly missing or buried until a few days later This admin maks Bush seem like a genius and yet they sheep and the libeal media just admire him so

every major news station seems to have a theme that they focus on all the time that isn't really related to news... logical conclusion: listen to public radio or watch PBS

Two (count em) days in a row, my local atomic commie rag (L.A. Daily News). Had either samll notices, or pics of ..... peaceful demonstrations. On the front page. The bleed didn't lead, buried, many pages back.

Fox wasn't covering a damn thing. I seem to recall Huckabee talking about how Jesus doesn't like credit card reform while i was flipping through the channels for coverage. Fox News DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A REPORTER IN IRAN.
