Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ahmed al Beijing and I am a Chinese Uighur and hopeful graduate of the Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility. I would very much like to take up residence in your wonderful country. During my time at Gitmo, I have studied Canada in detail and have grown quite fond of its culture and customs. To wit, I: am captain of my camp’s (undefeated) intramural ice hockey team; regularly sketch pictures of moose, black bears, and Dudley Do Right in my Art Therapy class; and am known throughout “The Bay” for my awesome homemade maple syrup. Finally, I’m proud to tell you that my bunkmate Khirash and I did a “Bob and Doug MacKenzie” routine that placed second at last year’s Gitmo Talent Contest. I tell you, if not for those hosers from Camp 4 who re-enacted “Cats,” we would have won!
